  1. May have to go back and check but I started watching the game I believe bottom or end of 2nd. When Brewers came to bat in the third, Fried I think went 11 straight batters throwing 1st pitch strikes without 1 single swing. Then I think he finally had a ball on 1st pitch followed by 3 more 1st pitch strikes with 1 swung at. Curveball, Changeup(85mph)? Was it? Probably 13 of those 15 abs. I've said this before but there seems such a poor strategy on approaching the Opposing Starter. This one clearly add to Fried's pitch count and get him hopefully out by 6th inning. They absolutely wanted nothing to do with attacking him and Fried just lofted 1st pitch strike after 1st pitch strike like okay. Guy is lofting 72MPH curveballs that seemed vertical not horizontal and guys took them. Series is lost. Any opposing pitcher has zero fear factor on every single Brewer batter. Brewer Pitchers though have all the fear facing Freddie Freeman. They must think he's Barry Bonds yet they wont just free pass him and save the 5plus pitches they're about to toss trying to get him out poorly. Might want to trade Hader and package Yelich this offseason. Yelich is broken and not going to be fixed here. Edit. Went back on feed and 11 of 12 batters took strike 1 from 3rd til 2outs in 6th. There were a few ball 1s.
  2. I don't think Cobb's great game is a fluke moving forward. I think this shows why Rodgers wanted him back to fit in this offense Lafluer runs. Cobb may have not been used much in the early part of the season as he was learning the scheme. Remember Cobbs wasn't a Packer under MLF. Geronimo was awful. MVS isn't a slot guy. Lazard provides more value by blocking than being a go-to for Rodgers. I think Cobb becomes this 3rd down option beyond Adams he hadn't had the last 2 seasons and Cobb's numbers will be a strong #2 WR while playing slot.
  3. Or a Counsell genius decision to hold back Woodruff so some voters choose Burnes over him when Burnes goes another 7-8IP gem.
  4. Someone on another Packers forum last night said Amos tripped the QB was while he was being held. I actually said this here probably just a couple pages before your post. It was basically the reason to throw the leg up as a reaction to being yanked(held) back falling on to his butt. That would make offsetting penalties and replay of down. Whatever Official staring down that line missing that call is pretty awful. Not like other players shielded the view as it is outside the pocket and not in the trenches. Maybe it's the OL-man not letting go and raising those hands up, like "I didn't do it" is what saved him from flag being thrown. I'm still very uncomfortable with the defense. Very, very lucky that Grappolo had terrible pocket escape and held ball for huge sacks to be made on him. At least 3 times I couldn't believe he took a sack when it appeared he could have at least produced some escape to throw the ball away or tuck it and run for a few yards. Just a rookie statue out there at times for a vet.
  5. Awesome Game finish. Seeing Jimmy G on sidelines in a daze that GB had a FG opportunity to win the game was priceless. On the Amos tripping, that OL was ripping him backwards to make it very obvious. So that's an obvious holding not called. I don't know how Adams took that helmet to the chin and returned. I fully expect a fine by the NFL on that hit. Full send reminder on that Bronco(Merriwether was it?) DB who just launched in to WRs with an upward blow no regard. I will say that sequence 2 deep throws after was crap. How they don't run down Adams is beyond me. MVS went out immediately after that throw. But whatever. So happy for WI today. Ryder Cup, Brewers Division Champs, Packer Heroics to complete! Good Night on that!
  6. Legit should have challenged that spot!. Went from 2-3feet to a full 2yards because why?.
  7. Spieth is the reason Rahm won those 2 matches. Missed at least 11putts inside 12feet over the 2 matches. Percentage wise he should have made at least 6 of them. Every one of those putts were to win or tie a hole. Not one of those putts do I remember being anything outside the edge. Jist zero confident strokes and missing. Predict US wins 7.5 today. But off to a slow start here.
  8. Adames with a HR tonight followed by Yelich for B2B. Let's see more of this here as we finish the season. Get Healthy and Stay Healthy. Lauer showed tonight why the Dodgers should be trembling at the thought of a series vs Milw!
  9. US 3-1 after morning session. Pukefest watching Thomas and Spieth make 0 putts.(started watching 5th hole) Great start. Length trumped in morning. Longest pairs all won.
  10. Ryder Cup starts tomorrow. Guess no one here is Up for this?
  11. Facebook memory on a Fantasy Baseball playoff matchup where a win sends me to the finals a big payday even taking 2nd. 2013. Jim Henderson on mound closing out a Sunday Night baseball game I believe vs the Cardinals. I'm winning. There are 2outs. My batter(1b Matt? Something?) Is 4 batters away. All I need is 1 out. 3 singles are instead given up and my guy comes to the plate. Henderson Strikes him out to end ball game. That strikeout caused me to lose BA by .001. $550 less to me taking 3rd vs 2nd and I believe 1300 less had I taken 1st. Being these analytic days. What may have been the probability of a win for me at the beginning of this scenario? I would have won with a walk or HBP or a hit clearly.
  12. So. Just a higher hopeful on LA and SF. A 163rd game to determine who the Division winner is and who plays a wildcard game. Nice setup for the losing team to lose that game as well. And then you also can have them wearing eachother out in division series before a Brewers NLCS series.
  13. What a difference when being ahead versus being behind. Also having DEs that add pressure to the QB while maintaining containment of the pocket. Brian Burnes left that impact on Winston. Green Bay was on the trade lookout for a LB. Just make the defense a 4-3 already. This team has terrible middle Linebackers and you run a scheme that requires 2 of them. Insanity.
  14. Good for him. Hes won a cy young and played for what is it 4 or 5teams thus far in his career? Burnes began his SP prowess last season. And I stated Burnes had thrown the most pitches ever by him in a game. Did Scherzer also set his highest mark in that 8inning outing? It is good on Scherzer to be putting up 0s for that stretch which I wasn't aware of. You're probably right Scherzer is winning this now on account of this stretch for the Dodgers after being traded to them.
  15. They can settle this on the field in game 1 of final series vs Dodgers. But to the thoughts Burnes lost the CY Young on a 6IP 3ER quality start with 11ks is really stretching. Like understand he had 8 no-hit innings in his previous start, throwing the most pitches he'd ever thrown. Let's see what he does for his next start, where its on a normal rest without the added stress from the game before.
  16. That’s because we have three of the top five pitchers in all of baseball that’s given up the least percentage of hard hit balls Woodruff. Burnes and peralta have been amazing And you cannot forget Houser. It's like 1/3rd of the hits he's given up are infield hits. (That what it feels like to me not statistically right I assume) like Houser just needs a JBJ and Cain OF and use 5 infielder he'd reduce his ERA by half.
  17. People keep hoping for a hott streak. I'd just accept batting .200 the rest of the season as hott. His nat doesnt know a hott streak this entire season.
  18. I always believed HHCD was overrated. Like he made a Pro Bowl and I was over here asking myself why? A lot of the "Packers have talent on D" talk I think comes down to how Gary & Savage play. There has been a lot of talk about these guys being pro-bowl level players and if they play at that level, then I do think the Packers have enough talent on D to win big games. Those guys are in their third year now and if this team wants to take the next step then they can't continue to just be "high potential" guys...as we know potential just means "they haven't done it yet" but the clocks starting to tick on the "yet" Kenny Clark is another guy who just needs to be better. They are paying him to be a stud and against NO he wasn't close to that. What was more frustrating then his missed tackles though was his effort. For subscribers, The Athletic posted a few screenshots of plays this weekend where Clark's effort pursuing the ballcarrier was terrible. Can't have that from a guy who is supposed to be one of your top players Clark maybe was just gassed in the heat after 2 15play drives to start the game. I mentioned I seen him be better or at least making plays as game progressed. Savage had the Int and a nice return only to get reffed out of it with that terrible PF on sack. There needs to be accountability on bad ref calls. Fines to the refs or even suspensions. A Team should have ability to challenge what was perceived a bad call after a game to be looked at and decided if indeed it was or not. If it was fine that official. Or suspend him from being part of the crew at the teams discretion when assigned to Ref another Packer game. Have it be a running tally and the refs that called games the most correctly are who partake in the Super Bowl and Championship games. Maybe you split the fines to be distributed among that crew rewarding them with higher pay for being good that season.
  19. JBJ's career average per 162 games has been -9 batting runs over 600 PAs. So far this year with the Brewers he is at -31 over 403 PAs. If he was having an average season that would only be -6, so a difference of 25 runs or about 2-3 wins. We might have even clinched already. I kinda thought 5runs was worth 1 win and if so that is a 4-5 win gain vs loss by him.
  20. Well I mention 8th since he seems clearly the best base stealer on the team. So get on base, have pitcher bunt him to 2nd or 3rd. Why behind JBJ? Its sarcasm. JBJ isnt going to give the following batter many RBI opportunities. It's just a slap to his face to ruin his numbers on a season by getting dozen or so fewer PAs. As to groundballs-This is his launch angles 2017. 4.7 2018 5 2019 11.3 2020 7.1 2021 3.8 The 2 MVP seasons he also only struck out 20pct of time. While 2020 was 30.8pct and this season 25.3. Still hits the ball hard but not like 2018 with 5pct Launch angle. And the 3.8 launch angle is going to have a worse BABIP. Needs to increase that launch angle closer to 10 if we will ever see MVP Yelich again.
  21. I always believed HHCD was overrated. Like he made a Pro Bowl and I was over here asking myself why?
  22. Not news related but- I went all the way back to 1992 looking at the standings because I noticed Arizona currently is more games behind 1st than they have wins. Baltimore has 46wins being 43.5 behind. I noticed this occurred I believe it was 4 times in the span from 1992 to 2020. But never 2 teams accomplishing the (de)feat. Seeing the standings as 4 divisions as I hit 1993 or 1994 I assumed it was likely impossible going back further. Just a thing I picked up on.
  23. Wonder how'd he react to batting 8th behind JBJ and the pitcher behind him? Would it light a fire under him? Or has he just cashed it all in and would crumble even further having his feelings hurt?
  24. Magic number shpuld just be in regards to division champs. We've been 100% for a wild card spot for what? 10games?
  25. The glaring missing piece is a stud linebacker. Pretty much every really good defense has one cat in the middle that is an absolute beast. Absolutely correct! An actual defensive leader while being a stud himself up the middle. Steelers seem to run with 1 if not 2 for 3decades now. Yet here we are never-ending cycle of mediocre LB play. Just a reminder-Linebackers: Malik Harrison had a couple of hard hits and Patrick Queen was dominant at times. Queen tied for the team lead with six tackles, including a sack. This a little tidbit off a Ravens site rating their team's performance. Also the other Devin. Bush seems to be making a middle LB impact. Yet we run out late round or udfa pretending to be starters vs addressing this.
