  1. Seeing on Facebook the belief he's done for the season with bicep injury.
  2. On the Rodgers Int. He was hit as he threw think he was trying to throw it through the endzone with a TE on backend to maybe snag it high. King Int. He caught lost it as he landed on the ground. Lazard potential big play- defender had a hand there very hard catch imo to pull off.
  3. Boy you can sound dumb. While the player himself may not excite you, how about a move to non tender an Arby player saving a few mil that just...hear me out on this... may be used to sign somebody that does. I would think Vogelbach is on his way to being non-tendered. You have the RH compliment for Tellez and Wong as mentioned in MLBTR. Kinda fits exactly where Vogelbach doesn't on the roster.
  4. You must really hate Houser to trade for Kepler to use as a platoon. Houser to me has more upside as he refines his pitching. Nah, I just don't see the upside in Houser at this stage. I like him just fine. He didn't really take the step forward that I thought he might this season. Obviously the GB% is great, but to me he's not more than the role he's been in: back end starter or bullpen arm. I actually think he might play better as a full time bullpen arm. Kepler is nothing special either but his upside is a 30+ HR bat who can handle RF and CF if needed. He's at least an avg defender and not a negative on the bases. In the same sense as I can see some potential upside in Houser yet, I think there's a fraction of potential upside in Kepler with the amount of contact he's able to make. In my book, it's a pretty even swap at a position of relative depth for each team. That's fairly nuts to say you don't see more upside. He had a 4BB per 9. Reducing that to a realistic number of 3.3-3.5 will mean he's a better pitcher. Burnes went from 3.6 and 3.7 to 1.8. Woodruff went from 3 to 2.2. Peralta has lowered his every season. Houser putting less men on base with free passes as a pitcher to contact will lower the runs he allows. Say he even increases his KS per 9 then even more to a larger degree. Those 2 combined could vault him over Woodruff quality. You would have to believe cleaning up some walks per 9, would lead to batters chasing and striking out a little more. I'll harp to a guy I championed for a few offseasons ago. One Lance Lynn who was coming off a kind of season Houser just had. 3.8Bbs per9 and 7.4Ks per 9. Dropped that walks per 9 2 years later the Ks increased and he's about to finish a 3rd straight season a top 5 Cy Young vote getter. That's some pretty big upside if you ask me. Woodruff and Houser I've believed and said before are Lance Lynn body types and hard throwers. The Brewer duo though actually mix more pitches in than Lynn who was almost just a FB pitcher with occasional slider, to now a 60s/30s mix of the 2. Kepler is a big no for me if putting Houser as the trade offer.
  5. The argument though; isn't Hader being compensated for the work he puts in? Burnes is up for Cy Young with his 7.5FWar. Pitched and provided more innings with value. Hader or RPs like Hader that want more comparable money? Go ahead and force your team to Start you. How long will Hader keep the numbers he's having when he faces a lineup a 2nd time? Or 3rd? Pitch 1/3 the innings- make 1/3rd the Starters. We've watched numerous failures as Starting Pitchers turn in to top 10 in baseball Set-up or Closers. Unless A RP has had success every bit equal to the success they have as a RP; there's no argument acceptable they should be paid more than they receive today.
  6. I would love to see the Yankees trade Dominguez for Olson. Tbh, not sure Dominguez really showed his promise last year from the hype. He's not making the majors it looks from his numbers next season. So he'd be 20years old at best entering the League. Seems old from the hype to not be playing at the MLB level before 20. Trout and Harper were 18-19 as rookies.
  7. Maybe it's not perfect, but it's certainly better than wins, saves, and RBIs like the current system uses. What is unknown about this is how they will determine the dollar amount. They would be using the fWAR so relievers would get screwed by this. But Burnes could possibly get $19m in his firs year of arbitration if this were to be used assuming they are going to use an average of the total fWAR $. Which would be about $14m more than what he would make in the current system. This is assuming they take the full fWAR from his first year until now. Yes the small market teams already agreed to this as this is the 2nd proposal from MLB to the union on how they are going to pay players going forward especially younger players. This is more than likely going to be rejected by the union as players wouldn't be able to hit free agency until they are 29.5 years old which could lock in younger players who may not do as well in the first few years they are in the majors and thus lower their value. There is also concerns of teams manipulating the WAR value. Also relievers are penalized severely in WAR compared to starting pitchers also pitchers who pitch more to contact versus striking players out are also hurt by fWAR. I think there will be some kind of compromise on this either using a different stat for relievers or a combination of different stats. Really they shouldn't be using one stat for everything ideally. Ideally you would want at least 3 or 5 different stats to find a balance. Either way younger players are going to become more expensive and I am wondering if the league has promised more revenue sharing for the smaller market teams. I dunno on RPs getting hurt so much. I could assume they have FWar make an adjustment towards pitchers War. The game is sliding towards that 5IP starter. Requiring more use of RPs. Maybe going to DH in NL, you require RPs to face 5 or 6 batters minimum. Taking away some more ability from changing pitchers that add time to the game. Meanwhile the potential extra outs a RP could gain adds value to their FWar. As a Fan to my team, would think the 29 1/2 age requirement to become FA means a star drafted could play for my team longer or be a Franchise player longer without manipulation of team control. If the money for younger stars goes more immediately in to their pockets, then maybe we see away with small market compensation like draft picks. Draft pick compensation nearly altogether. MLB would have to do away payroll constraints. How a team would predict its future payroll has to be impossible. If we're taxing the top revenue sharing teams to pay for a young superstar on a small market team for up to 11years whatmore from a small market competitive standpoint could you ask for? Now how does FA work is a problem. Are we going to do away with an actual salary and tie compensation via performance? Just that a player is free to choose what team that is for? Does MLB come up with a salary cap floor on what a Franchise needs to spend in/on FA players? For example do they say Milwaukee needs to have 60-75mil spent on Free Agents when making up their roster? How does that work for Tampa? Who is competitive while playing a young team with low cost FAs? Do you say their portion of revenue shared if not reached say 60mil threshold is penalized? One where they only spent 20 of 60mil threshold so the first 40mil that would come their way from revenue sharing is with held then and returned to the markets that are footing Tampa's bill? Look forward to more in depth what they work out. Seems positive to me they are trying to pay their young stars quicker.
  8. You must really hate Houser to trade for Kepler to use as a platoon. Houser to me has more upside as he refines his pitching.
  9. When one of Yelich, JBJ, Hiura, or Cain goes white hott for 10games early and steps forward gloating about the work they did with.... You'll know who to complain about when that is their best 10 game stretch of the season.
  10. You mean keston hiura right? That was the failed plan last season.
  11. What's this prove it deal? He's going to have his choice of teams that he'd only be a complete idiot if he chose a team not likely top 3 of offers in the Super Bowl contenders. He doesn't need to prove anything. He should want to win a Super Bowl. And returning punts? He's had his share returning punts. Even 1 this season. If he wants to "prove it" having the ball more often in his hands to do well can only help "proving it" he can't lose value as a punt returner or kick returner. FA after this season if he's awful or fumbles you're not signing him to return, you're signing him to be one of your WR. All it will take is making one decent return where he looks like a play-maker to add value to his next deal. That's what somebody wants to see.
  12. When you're renting a diva does it really matter if they get hurt? Think what should attempt is the hopeful upgrade you get over Taylor.
  13. You know I'd take the chance with OBJ over Malik Taylor and those ST blunders Taylor seems snakebitten with. Can OBJ field punts and KRs? Even if it's just fair catching? If we are going to call this Rodgers' last season then give him another weapon to play with. When he leaves, can't say we left him with nothing to work with. Cobb and OBJ.
  14. Not seeing the dirty. Better angle Well the QB who fumbled commented he was trying to tackle Burns as the thought was Burns picked up the ball. Meh. Burns made it look over dramatic by spin falling as if to break free, certainly didn't have to do that and it may be why that ankle aggravation came from doing.
  15. I debunked the bold statement as you make it sound like Rodgers was the reason the team going 6-10. The offense scored the 5th most points that year. But the defense allowed the 20th most points. 7 of the 10 losses were by a combined 21points with the defense allowing the opposing team to make the final score within last 3mins 24secs or less in 4th quarter. 3 of them were less than 1min 54secs in game. Now I suppose it can be said Rodgers wasn't running the 2min drill effectively like the hero QB he does now, but the following season we lost to the Cardinals in OT 51-45 to begin the Era of Defensive caused playoff losses. A team scoring the 5th most points in a season doesn't reflect a QB struggling his first year starting. Scoring 7points(sure 13 had FGs been made) isn't a good start that Love has top 5 in NFL points potential. Granted he had long fields to work with, but not 1 throw did I think this could be taken to the house. Lazard made a play on what should have been a tackle out of bounds at the 2 or 3 yard line. It wasn't like on the throw you knew it was a TD. I'll say it again, I do want Love starting the game this week. Get the full week to game plan knowing you are starting. GB could just reserve holding Rodgers out of the game as punishment.
  16. Well it shouldn't. Deguara and Dafney should be next man up capable to block from that position. Obviously, they would hurt on route as Dafney showed on 1st drive on the youtube commentary.
  17. Good stuff.. That was great explanation on play breakdown. What I got from it was #70 isn't a starter ATM, Love will need to improve pre-snap and help insight on pass protection. Jones may be the most beneficial to that thought as he had some misses. Best yet was footwork commentary and why Love missed his throws. That is something you would think Love is coached on to learn from the tape and then work to improve. Those two slide jump throws in a row may be him overcited how open WR WR and rushed the throw
  18. It should also be noted Aaron Rodgers did not start either game. Thus, did not practice all week with the starters...nor did he really expect to play meaningful football going into said games. That feels like a big difference compared to Jordan Love...who got a ton of practice with the main starters all pre-season, during pre-season, and then most of the week leading up to the Chiefs game. Let me add that at the time of game #1 GB was 3-11. At the time of game #2 GB was 4-6. That is a combined 7-17 team Rodgers played around vs Love playing with a 7-1 team and knowing he would play. Also gotta mention 2008 that 4th year where Rodgers went 6-10. 7 games were lost by 4points and less. Defense ranked #20 in Points allowed. GB was 5th in points scored. The 7 losses were by a total of 21points. 5 times the opponent scored to either tie or take the lead in final 3mins or less. Still that said, I'm hoping Love plays and starts the next Packers game to see chapter 2. I want Love to succeed, as the other being a fail means GB will enter in to what 90pct of the NFL fans have lived with the last 30years that we have not.
  19. Maybe your expectations for backup QBs is too high? Heck, look across the field and Mahomes is an int away from having a worse stat line. What’s his excuse? Funny. Love was bailed out by at least 4 maybe 5 Special catches. 2 maybe 3 of which likely go for picks. Cobb absolutely stole the longest pass thrown for that 35yard completion. Dillon made 2 ridiculous catches. Lewis bailed him out on what had to be Love's most rookie looking toss for grabs to avoid a sack while not even looking where or who he was throwing to. How a Chief defender wasn't able to make a play on that ball is total luck. What was 1Int very much should have been 4 and possibly 5. Mahomes meanwhile had 3 significant drops that were all on 3rd downs that would have gone for 1st downs. Had a Super human Barnes make 3 spectacular stops that saved 2 first downs and 1TD. I think Cambell made 1 himself. You can't say that about the Chiefs defense. Maybe Mathieu had 1 but their defense is poor for a reason. Love didn't take advantage of it. You can clearly tell pre-snap he's not diagnosing the defense effectively. Throws were pretty inaccurate, I fear for Adams health because jumping up to make a once in a lifetime catch is going to get him hurt when the secondary defenders lay him out one of these times. Someone mentioned calling screens. They did. Love threw at least 2 maybe 3 straight in to the ground to either avoid being sacked or poor tosses. A couple others went nowhere or less than 3yards. Part of that Oline pressure was them running screens ineffectively. I'm not going to say Love will never have a career after this game. He's got a long way to go though. Defenses are only going to line up better than what he faced tonight. Moving forward my expectations are a Love start will equal 2-3Ints thrown each game. He's a 30+Int a season no doubt QB. With 17games He may reach 40s if played all QB snaps.
  20. How the he'll was that guy lined up off side. Legit shoulder ahead of DE head. Lined up in neutral zone That flag for lining up 9ffside proves my point. Jones is ahead of the football almost every down
  21. How the he'll was that guy lined up 9n side. Legit shoulder ahead of DE head. Lined up in neutral zone
  22. Seriously? He just threw that up for grabs. KC if a basic defense would likely have 3 picks by now. 8ts the defense being over aggressive vs a 1st start QH as to why not
  23. 10 suppose a team could also waive some money with hopes another team picks them up. I'd actually wonder if a GM was on the phone with another team to waive a 1-4mil player for that team to pick up so they have enough cap space. Cleveland alone would be a good example. They are right in the middle of standings. You need 3mil to be able to claim Beckam. You give them somebody they could use. Say even if its GB. and Kevin King. Maybe that scenario will unfold here if a team really wants Odell.
  24. 7 teams ranked ahead of WI lost yesterday in CFP rankings. Imagine this takes WI up to 16. No lower than 17. One has to think the Defense is gaining respect to jump them in to these ranking in the 1st place. Add the Braelon Allen additional usage has helped in the now 5 straight wins to garner more. Started the season #12, looking like we are heading back towards that ranking.
  25. I mean it would look like his vision is directly at the wide open WR. Maybe it was too far for him to throw. Adding, Looking forward to Love playing. Lets see how his decision making goes, how good he throws the ball, and most importantly, will he get the plays off without using needless timeouts to avoid a delay of game. Sack Fumbles is also something to watch for. What do we think over/under is on times sacked? 5.5? 6.5? I'll just guess 6 times.
