  1. Well we have the lead. Certainly could make a few adjustments on offense and be more successful than what we have thus far. On the other side. Kyler Murray had a bad half. Don't expect to hold them to 7pts again this half. We need at least 13 to force 3scores out of them.
  2. Felt more like it should have been a hold when Cobb went to make his break. Was about to escape but the hold kept the DB right on him. Agree MLF miffed that play call on series. Run. Run the clock. What did that take? 40secs off clock if that.
  3. Looked like the WR before TO wasn't going to where Rodgers wanted him. Winfree.
  4. Isiah Simmons is a stud LB. He caught Jones while Jones had his feet under him to push and nearly made that 4th down. Boy I'd love a MLB like that one of these days.
  5. Don't think a hand racking your face mask a moment before ball falls in to your hands is a should have made catch. That was not an easy catch before that.
  6. Christian Wilkins and Dexter Lawrence for defensive front type players. There certainly was a good group of Offensive Linemen they could have gone towards had they missed on the defensive front players similar to Gary. They didn't have to move down to where Sweat was drafted. Since he'd have been there in hindsight at earlier draft spots. It was just a spot where if you graded players on a 0-100 scale there likely was 10players or more that were say 86-88. Sure Gary is succeeding now to the value of the draft pick just that makes him an expensive player if you extend him. That or you've got just 3 of 5 seasons of that picks value out of him before losing him. Another problem with the Love selection if he has a decent season post Rodgers. Still see holes in Gary's game. I still don't know what his pressure the QB move that's successful is. It's just speed and bullrush with effort on chasing. He's getting better with his leverage and lean and runs in to a non mobile QB. I think his weaknesses will get exposed by a running QB like Murray potentially this week to show where I still wonder how great he really is. As to the Cardinal game, I'm optimistic. Missing players aside, I don't see why we would feel like this isn't a win on paper.
  7. I'm not worried all to much without Adams and Lazard for the offense. Jones and Dillon are huge weapons that aren't utilized often because the need isn't there. Green Bay can definitely play long game reducing the possessions and keeping the score low and manageable for a win. If this game gets out of hand its because Green Bay falls behind and suffer a turnover that makes that game plan tougher to stick to. You can also suggest that Rodgers is a far superior QB than any Arizona's D has played against. This will give a good test on how good Murray is and how good or bad the defense is for GB. We have definitely been fortunate on some poor QB play and you just think if a better QB were out there we'd be torched.
  8. Plate discipline is surely going to be effected next year when no one will be afraid of him. Those walks might dry up. On Statcast plate discipline isn't just about taking pitches for walks. This is zone swing pct, zone contact pct , chase pct, chase contact pct, whiff pct, 1st pitch swing pct, overall swing pct, meatball pct, and probably a couple I'm not remembering off top of my head. 2020 was a glaringly bad view. 2021 was closer to non 2019 seasons. It's fairly obvious confidence and attacking pitches is most of whats wrong. Launch Angle the biggest culprit of it all.
  9. I'm confident you're going to be very wrong with that post. Just curious, what about his last two seasons leads you to believe he will be wrong? I think there is a 50/50 shot he is correct, sadly... Well for a start, Yelich is a whole lot faster running than Davis. There's more value right there. Launch angle improvement will help. Go over to Baseball savant and Statcast pcts. His 2021 is somewhat similar to his 2017 where aside from launch angle and Kpct, he had slightly higher stats. EV, Barrel percent, Max EV, and hard hit percentage. (I guess sweet spot was .1% better in 2017. 2017 was an 807 OPS. Not going to be all rosy though because we did watch the EV drop and a drop even further will equate to worse results unless that launch angle jumps back above 10pct. I wouldn't give up completely on Yelich because his plate discipline numbers from 2020 and 2021 were improved. Its just the Launch angle is far too low to notice.
  10. Hader has been considered a top reliever in all of baseball prior to last season which was his finest to date. Better than just one of the top relievers in baseball tag he already had. There's something to the WPA that I thought he was like #1. If that isn't worth a top 30 prospect plus another bottom 1/3rd in top 100 for 2years control plus clear compensation that will come that teams way when losing Hader to free agency. Then nothing is worth a two top 100 prospects. We can offer Mitchell and Small for Tatis and it's worthy. Just insane what the best WPA in MLB is regarded on trade value. He's been this good 3 of 4 seasons. And when he wasn't it was 2020. Why his value wasn't this last offseason.
  11. Gute's 2019 draft is pretty impressive despite not having a ton of picks....Gary, Savage, jenkins are a pretty solid 1st 3 picks I still see some angst around Gary on here and I don't really get it...as he's figured out how to play OLB in this system he has become really solid against both the run and pass. The angst is just the fact that as of now, every 1st round DT/DE or LB drafted behind Gary, according to profootballreference has provided more value than Gary has. He was the Uber project but legit 4 others at essentially the exact same role were on the board. Making matters worse was how high they must have thought on Savage. The fact you didn't find a trade partner to move down is why Gary was a bad pick. He's at least starting to live up to that value drafted but as mentioned above, the immediate impact should have been there at 12 not a project who becomes expensive around the time he lives up to #12. Montez Sweat is a better player drafted last of those 4 clone types after Gary. Hundreds in trade value opportunity missed.
  12. To the idea that Murray will run ramshot after watching Heinicke rush for all these yards: Defensive game plan I'm sure wasn't protecting from him running with the ball. Murray will be defended against differently, prepared to keep him more within the pocket. Ideally. I don't know how good Murray is as a passer. But I thinks Stokes is ready to turn on one of these passes in time to pick. He's becoming someone you need to not throw towards. Always arms length away it seems. Will Murray continue the trend testing the rookie just because he's a rookie. Same can be said imo on offense today. Clear game plan was stay away from running on WFTs front 4. Mixed up passing the ball around. We're a dangerous team. Offensively there are so many ways this team will beat you at its disposal. Having a healthy OL? When and if that happens, games will be blowouts.
  13. Just a note. I remember liking Kyle Tucker around the top of my draft rankings in 2015. Why? The guy made me think of Yelich at the plate. Kudos to his success and maybe some faith Yelich can get back to being the upside of 2015 himself.
  14. I have no trade ideas but yes. This offseason is the time to trade Hader. The season was a big win for any doubters. The cost while high would be for 2 years. He's the perfect high price Closer to add for a large market that can see some compensation upon lost in Free Agency.(don't know what that will look like until new CBA) I think last year people seen it hard to get a top 50 prospect and that would be the only top 100 coming in trade. Gotta believe he's worthy of a top 30 plus a 60s-100s. Sure there are guys on the market but that didn't stop Stearns from Yelich and Cain deals. Sell high. Waiting in to next season just has to most likely see his price decline. How much better can he do than year he just had?
  15. Who is Turing? New phone auto correct problems. Turang. Kinda amazing you couldn't decipher an a vs an I mistake on one of Brewers top prospects.
  16. Said everyone after his 2020 season. There is no deal to be had. Even if there was, expecting him to return to a 1.5 WAR player is a better move than trading him and coughing up $100MM. There is no way the Brewers cough up more than 10mil in a trade its nonsense you assure 100mil or even close to that. Braun was never traded. Like let's be serious, somebody here can probably find the history of Brewers sending money in a trade. I doubt it is more than 10Mil. Yes, they probably won't. But he's got likely well over $100M in negative market value. Ergo, he's probably not going anywhere. That is exactly where I'm at. Going nowhere until he has any performance year with mid+ 800 OPS. Haines being fired gives some hope that a new voice instills a more confident Yeli at the plate. How bad was his confidence this year? Between he and JBJ, I assumed Yelich may at least work a walk.
  17. I wouldn't want to trade these two away. Turing seems your guy you dangle along with the ML pitcher-Houser, Hader, Lauer, Williams, and or Suter. Mitchell is the perfect look to take Cain's spot in the future. Guys are going to get expensive and you need to trade one or two away to afford your salary restrictions. Can use Davies-Grisham as an example of what your future trade this offseason will look like. Probably need to find the Brewers prospect who is up against rule 5 or beyond that you risk losing. Don't believe Small is that and Mitchell certainly isn't.
  18. Who are some names you would consider as a "big hire"? Asking out of curiosity...not very familiar with what the potential candidate pool even looks like I don't have one. That's not my job. Haines seemed like a quick hire who had experience with the Cubs. My peeve against him has been game approaches. It never felt like the Offense had a leg up on that day's opposing Starter. It just felt so much like sit at the plate hold out til strike one blew by down the middle of the plate. And add the amount of strike 3s that were looking? Think the guy had poor pitch sequencing approach that left hitters guessing wrong. It was overdue. Nobody feared the lineup in 2021. Narvaez was awful in 2020, may have fixed it on his own in offseason and Haines in season magic derailed it again. Garcia the same only he never listened to what Haines tried exploring him to do. Yelich, Cain, Hiura, JBJ the list is long of failed seasons towards guys meant to be a big contribution to said offense. I just hope there's a hire where a solid amount of time passes. That we see a reason to understand the hire. Coles and Haines both at time of hire already felt questionable.
  19. Great news. I have a feeling or hope the search is more extensive this time around. 2 bad hitting coaches in a row to learn to stay away from. It was clearly the number 1 move you had to do to the staff. 2 years. Multiple players in each year having their career worst seasons. Looking forward to a big hire.
  21. Yelich is owed about $140M more than Hicks and unless the Brewers threw in major cash ($95+M) I can't see the Yankees even considering a Yelich for Hicks deal. I think both teams are stuck with their bad contracts. So you are putting Yelich's yearly value below 8mil. Below JBJs value. Yeah you might want to question your thinking. The Yankees are loaded with 1Bil plus revenue yearly. Understand removing a near 10mil a yr contract for a potential MVP type at 16mil a year and then holding a bad finish is a lottery luxury they could take on. The Yankees don't need Yelich to be #1 batter on their team like Milwaukee does. But a Yelich like 2018 performance exceeds anything they can buy in FA this year for 16mil. Find a 2019 Yelich version and You're the smartest, slickest GM in baseball. There wasn't a prospect sought back to the Brewers in the idea. Just trading contracts that each franchise could handle. Brewers with little upside, Yankees with Elite upside. Would think this is a slam dunk trade for NY while the embarrassment potential for Milws side be why it wouldn't happen. Say Haines is let go and a new voice leads to a return more to 2018 Yelich. Cause that is all Yeli has had to work with after signing that contract.
  22. Don't think this would be hard to do. Right off the bat; NYY take Yelich trade Aaron Hicks in return. Reunite Yelich with Stanton. The upside Yelich brings has to be appealing while paying him 10mil less by removing Hicks contract.
  23. Is that due to the coach or a team philosophy? I know the team is geared to sabre and I think the sabre approach to hitting is in a transitional phase right now. Batters for the last decade didn't care about striking out, didn't learn to use the whole field and generally swing for the fences every pitch. Suddenly pitchers learned to throw harder, use the spin of their pitches better and the defenses learned some hitters can't hit certain parts of the field if they got to hit off a tee and adjusted accordingly. Suddenly the types of hitters being drafted and the way they're developed have to change. Maybe we haven't figured out what to look for or how to develop that yet. That isn't to say I disagree with a statistical analysis approach. Just saying that approach needs to be adjusted as the league adjusts. Team philosophy or not. Haines needs to take the fall for this season's putrid offense and not getting Yelich or JBJ a single month that approached respectable for expectations this season. Whiff after whiff. Right on through to postseason where we Kd what 50pct? Of PAs. 2, 0, 0, 4. Somebody has to be fired. Tired of hearing CC say that was some good pitching and we have to do a better job of putting the ball in play. It's especially concerning this approach with some Elite pitching to 3TO and not manufacture some runs with bunting two runners over to 2nd and 3rd. The fact that Yelich wouldn't bunt more when seeing the shift. A LHB should take that free base 50pct of the time or more depending on outs in the inning. One who can steal 2b 80pct or more of the time even more so.
  24. Haines has to be fired. Definitely not CC. The offense wouldn't feel bad if Yelich batted near 2018-2019 levels. But my number 1 reason to fire him is that once again the batters take approaches and such. 11 of 12 batters not swinging at strike 1 is a clear indication of taking pitches for a strategy and it didn't work. It's not the first time all season and truthfully very consistent on that failing approach. But 11 of 12? Brutal. And this may have a direct effect towards Yelich who has taken such a passive approach at the plate, you would think he's a pitcher hoping to be walked.
  25. Bc our only other available catcher was a slumping lefty. Who was likely being saved for extra innings since after Narvaez it was what? JBJ to PH? I agree with a poster that said pulling Pina made zero sense. Zero. It ruined 2 PHs that led to Maille ending up with that situation. All in all terrible game. Did we even see a runner reach 3rd base today? How about game 1? (Working) Tellez hit a 2run HR. Was there ever an AB that game with a runner on 3rd?
