  1. This would be prime time for CC to get thrown out and fined and suspended calling out the umpiring vs the Brewers consistently wrong and in the opponents favor. Not only did that cost a 1-1 tie game, but instead of a K and potential going 6IP with 1ER, that call now leaves Woodruff with a 5.1IP 3ER line. Quality start vs not a quality start. in a very tight Cy Young Race, this is a game and bad ump call that may cost Woodruff in the end.
  2. Statcast should have a wpa for umps missed calls and the results of it. In this instance that must have been a +35.5wpa missed strike 3 turned in to a 2run HR. In Atlanta's favor
  3. That was the Jesse Chavez who has long past being a counted on RP. Sucks we missed out on that scoring opportunity for the 9th? time tonight.
  4. How cool is it that you say this on a guy who has 53strikes in 73 pitches and giving up on 1 run in 4IP? If the offense here could just stop watching strikes go by with runners on, and score some runs you'd shrug your shoulders. OK cool, they let a pitch hit them while we avoid 3 that would have.
  5. ok paid it back bad strike bad ball. lets go 2 runners on this guy is losing it this inning and immediately calls a bad strike to Pina
  6. Heres some optimism. Cincy by my count has an amazing 39 games vs teams that made trade deadline sell-offs. Milwaukee has 27 games remaining vs these same teams. San Diego has 21 games of this. LA has 20 games left vs post deadline sell off teams. San Fran has 19 games left vs such teams. Cincy is 4GB of the 2nd wild card. We play SF 7 games. I fully believe Cincy will take 1 of the 2 wild card spots. This means 1 of the 3 NL West teams won't make the playoffs. SF leads LA by 3games and SD by 5.5games. We could tank 5 or 6 games vs SF to help them win their division. Cincy beats the other wild card team. We play for a WS without facing either LA or SD.
  7. Thinking this acquisition is for September stretch when rosters expand and CC can use Norris frequently to get tough lefty batters out to get out of jams. Don't know if he'll make to many of the playoff rosters. But he'll give the team boost in September. Including that last tough week.
  8. Looking like a real solid bullpen guy to depend on. He also played for Tampa last season and pitched 3.1 innings in the WS giving up only a solo HR. So he's been at the highest stage for a small market team vs big market LA. Very solid these past 2 seasons, definitely improves the overall bullpen consistency. And controlled for a few more seasons. You can likely get a Henry type prospect back in future trade all the up to being a rental if he continues this consistency.
  9. Pretty amazing I feel great about the Brewers and would maybe only consider a RP. I don't see a point in SPs when you have 6 capable to share the load. You have your 2 RPs to end games. I suppose the RP you pickup replaces Sanchez/Topa future. Cousins has yet to give up a run and the Ks are piling up out there. Tellez has already been a boon for 1b. Whatever trade Id make for a non-pitcher would have to be removing JBJ for maybe a speedy PH making more than he should. Swapping contracts. It'll be interesting how well Escobar fits in the lineup. But feeling a mix of #5 or 4 between Garcia and Narvaez. Probably ahead of Garcia and behind Narvaez.
  10. Blah. Thats how much both LA and SD have done taking all the big names and forgot. Btw checked Bref on LA roster, Nelson and Bickford are studs currently out of the bullpen. Great to see Jimmy having a stellar season for MLB.
  11. Sounds like Dodgers are taking on the salary and penalty for already in luxury tax. Good for them. Corner the baseball market. Scherzer, Darvish, Kershaw, Walker, and Bauer. This will be such a David vs Goliath NLCS when we take them down like Bucks over the Nets and go on to win the WS.
  12. fwiw, Hand has his highest Fip of 4.33 since his age 22 season and a 3.59ERA this season. For a rental RP on a meh year this is probably a lights out return imo. Especially considering that WAS has catchers that are all but gone after this year. With that point maybe in next 30 ish hours and the kid could play immediately to finish out the season
  13. Getting that feeling, this team moving forward has 0 weakness. Adding Escobar and Cain back in the lineup removing Hiura and JBJ makes this offense tough on pitchers. The bullpen is special and will be even better come playoff series adding Houser and 1 of Anderson or Lauer. I'm feeling 98 wins and a 1 seed!
  14. If true, this would be quite the haul for 1.5 years of Gallo. Trevor Hauver (#23 per MLB pipeline), Ezequiel Duran (#15), Everson Pereira (#17), Randy Vasquez (UR), Glen Otto (#28). MLB trade rumors says the other player is Josh Smith (#14). That's a lot even if Smith is not included. Yankees have arguably a top 5 farm system. Wasn't the rumor an overpay offer for Gallo on the table? So this would seem to just that.
  15. Don't think we need bullpen help. Topa is on his way back. at least 1 SP(Houser?) will be used in the bullpen come playoff time. Who out there would you target for bullpen? I really hope the team doesn't use Mitchell in a trade. Really feel utmost high on the guy.
  16. If we can get Donaldson, and I wouldn't trade Urias to do it, Urias becomes your 1st up off the bench at 2b, SS, and 3b. I'd take that upgrade over Jace on top of Donaldson's upgrade to the lineup. Donaldson must be 1 of top 3 batters who are in the top 10% of categories measured. Look up his page and it's littered with 90s including 99 for EV, 95 for Walk % 92 for expected Slg pct. of his 16HRs all but 4 stadiums would be a higher total (18 in MKE, 20 in LA, 23 in SD, 21 in SF, 18 in NYM) For reference, Avisail Garcia has 17HRs leading the team and at every stadium but SF suggests he should have less. Our next highest HR total is Urias at 13 who has 5 stadiums where that number would be higher but only in MKE and lower in the other 4 current playoff teams. Urias also doesn't possess 1 single statcast pct above 55% except 76 for walk %. Donaldson was who Milw should have signed to pair with Yelich and he's still worthy of being used in this lineup the most. Other than him, I don't know who I would add. Gallo has some great hitting numbers via statcast but also a bottom 5% of those qualified(Hiura apparently doesn't) in K% and Whiff %. Worse than JBJ. And Gallo is #1 in BB %. So you're talking about a guy who legit spends 51% of his PA not putting the ball in play. (Donaldson is at 34% not doing so) We need more Batted balls in play on this team for all the guys who are getting on base via walks.
  17. FWIW Brewers still play La and SF a total of 10 games not to mention those teams playing against eachother SD/LA/SF. Meanwhile, Cincy only plays 2 3 game sets vs Mil and LA. It's possibly easy for them to make up ground when one of the teams ahead of you will lose up to 17games or 8.5 games on split. And I'm not even counting games vs NY Mets these teams still play. Cincy has 28 games vs deadline sellers and bottom feeders Pitt, Cubs, Marlins, Twins, Tigers with 4 vs Wash I'm not including but that may make 32 games vs teams that are positioning themselves for the draft vs playoffs. Brewers meanwhile have 21 such games looking past deadline. That's just keeping in mind to consider why they would believe they have a chance to make the playoffs. I'm not anointing them playoff bound. I'm not sure they are a better team after the 3RP acquired. Just there's a path that gaining 7+ games down this stretch is possible on 1 of the teams ahead of them.
  18. Meanwhile scroll down that post and find one that a 4th Antetokounpo, Alex, is making his way to an NBA soon. Pacers brought him in to workout. Giannis somewhere in the scroll down watching Alex made a comment that he absolutely believes Alex could turn out better than him. Now take that idea, play all 4 together in an Olympics. That would be something. Imagine announcing that game!
  19. Open up the pocket books and trade for Donaldson. He's the best cleanup or #3 hitter this team needs in its lineup. And you'd control that type of bat beyond this year. My only thought on who and what this team needs.
  20. I don't follow like in years past so not going to make a list. Just wanted to say, mlb prospectus doesnt have Joe Gray a 2nd rd selection 3? Years ago in Milw top 30. Yet they throw a few other guys drafted before him who have 0 stats to their to be ranked ahead of him. Just bizarre and I wonder just how far he climbs in their next updated rankings. I mean jeesh Tyrone Taylor was a 2nd rd pick who was top 3 on the Brewers prospect around similar stage while no production made it seem too high. They basically gave up on Gray after 2years.
  21. Story was hit in the hand last night by a 97MPH pitch from Ohtani. That may be a snag on a trade if he's gotta do an IL stint.
  22. I recall somebody or a few here in past chiming to trade for Toro as a 3b option. So there's that. Gotta love selling high on RPs. Maybe Seager will get dealt here and Toro replaces him full time. Swap Cain's or JBJs contract. But not sure on Seager at 3b this point.
  23. Scroll on down the twitter feed I see that Ohtani hit Story in hand with 97MPH pitch. 21HRs ago.
  24. Frazier has 10+BWAR to his name and over 2 this year. Nothing about that says average. Ten bWAR in essentially five seasons. 2 WAR per year = average. Career OPS+ of 105 is 5% better than average. His sprint speed of 27.1 ft/s is 256th out of 500 qualifiers on the StatCast leaderboard Frazier is about as average as it gets. Lol on sprint comp and sprint speed making Frazier claim average. Also bat is at 129OPS+ By that career logic, Wong and Garcia arent even close at being average. Cain in a similar career arc as where Frazier is, was far below average. Frazier is at 2.9BWar for this season. That would be #1 for Brewer position players tied with Adames who may be coming back to earth after that initial surge joining the team. What you can say is based on 10WAR in the career of games he's played Frazier will give SD another 1WAR with 60games left in the season. A 3.9WAR player then for the year and at least 3WAR next season. I just think he should have more return value because his history is a consistent 2-3WAR player over 162games. Unlike jon Schoop who we sent Villar, Ortiz, And Jean Carmona on just pure rental with no money sent to us.
