  1. What is with all this shuffling from them???? Watch them just DFA Vesia when announcing Turner signing.
  2. Whelp now they have 40 man room... Just traded Floro to Miami. EDIT - Nevermind....... Jesus
  3. Still, wouldnt the Dodgers signing Turner inflict more luxury tax penalties? I definitely agree with what others have said, if the Dodgers wanted Turner back they would have already come to an agreement on a deal.
  4. We can forget about the Padres, they just signed Melancon. Just keep Josh/Devin together and go for the Central!
  5. They freed up a spot losing Kolarak, but then they filled it with Neuse so their net gain was zero. Still have a full 40-man roster. Oh, crap wasn't aware of that... Guess I forgot the Neuse has played in the majors. So maybe RRB is right, Dodgers are really moving on from Turner... But man, what it he waiting for to sign?? Just sign the damn deal we probably have out there for you. Wong Cain Yelich Turner Hiura Narvaez Garcia Arcia/Urias I fully except Yeli, Hiura, Narvaez and Garcia to bounce back... All are not the hitters they were in 2020. I REALLY LIKE THAT LINEUP!!
  6. We need to hurry up and sign Asdrubal Cabrera since Brad Miller and Marwin Gonzalez are already gone... I'm sure Cabrera won't be a FA much longer.
  7. Whelp, there's the Dodgers freeing up a 40 man spot for Turner... I'm totally excepting Turner resigns with Dodgers to be announced this weekend... Damn! What a perfect combo he would have been with Yelich.
  8. It really seems like it's a two-team contest for Turner. He likely wants to go back to LA if all else is equal or close to it, but I'd bet that they're not in the ballpark with their offer right now, and Milwaukee is offering more years. In the end, I think he'll end up having to choose a far inferior deal to stay in LA because he wants to, otherwise I think he signs with Milwaukee. I think so as well.... I guess the Braves are also still involved but I doubt it, they just shelled out for Ozuna. But who knows, every team (except for us) has unlimited funds apparently.
  9. I mean, trading for Lindor and likely offering him the moon in terms of a huge contract extension IS at least a little something, right? Their payroll is right around $190M right now, and that's with Pete Alonso making $575K for 2021...between Lindor's likely extension and what should be every effort on their part to get Alonso under an initial extension that actually pays him something close to his on-field value and buys a year or two of free agency out (he is already 26...might make for contentious arbitration moving forward), the Mets will easily jump up to the luxury tax payroll thresholds without adding any more free agents just with their current roster in the very near future. That being said, if it's between Mets and Brewers, the Mets do obviously have more $ to throw at a 36yr old free agent I read on Twitter it doesnt sound like Mets will reach a deal with Turner... Off on years and dollars or something like that.
  10. I wonder if their non-Turner plan could be something like this... vs RHP: Muncy at 1B; Rios at 3B vs LHP: Cooper at 1B; Muncy at 3B Muncy has reverse splits for his career, so better against LHP. Agreed, its gotta be something like that. Ok Justin, it's clear the Dodgers dont want to pay you... Just come to Milwaukee, we want you and we'll pay you handsomely.
  11. Hmmm Dodgers must really not want Turner back, there checking into Garrett Cooper now.
  12. Well Zimmermann isnt Rich Hill but I guess it's only a minor league deal so maybe we still add Hill. I really want to find someone to be that #3 behind Woody and Burnes, make me feel much better about Houser, Lindblom/Lauer as our 4 and 5.
  13. So its us, Mets, Dodgers and I'm sure a "mystery team"... Yea I don't see us winning that war, too bad I was really getting excited thinking about Turner at 3B.
  14. Very interesting that Rosenthal specifically mentions Mark A in his tweet. So, cleary this is the player (or one of the players) that Mark A met or talked to directly about coming to Milwaukee. I think we all assumed that to be true, but I think this validates it even more - which means that we are pretty serious about trying to get a deal done with him. I assume that if the Mets wee to sign Turner, it would make either Davis or Dom Smith available in a trade. Both would be solid fits for the Brewers. I would love J.D. but I believe I read his 3B D is suspect??
  15. The Braves continue to be mentioned. For the life of me I cannot figure out why they don't want to give Austin Riley the chance to run with the job. He's supposed to be the "next big thing" at the hot corner. Riley has to play 3rd now, Ozuna is the everyday LF with the news of no DH in NL this year.
  16. Hmmm, another team that doesn't have a need for Justin Turner now.... I don't see who's left besides us and the Dodgers.
  17. Oh absolutely! I want Paxton or Rich Hill.
  18. My excitement on signing Turner has worn off, just dont think its gonna happen. Give Green/Robertson a ton of ABs in spring, may the best of Green/Robertson win the 3B job. Use the “Turner money” and sign Paxton. Woodruff Burnes Paxton Yea thats a legit trio.
  19. Let Green and Robertson battle it out for 3B, Green has had some damn nice minor league seasons.
  20. Man I hope so, Green finally figuring it out would be huge! Justin Turner is a perfect example, guy who figured it out at 29... Then we can save the would be money spent on Turner to go get someone like Paxton for the rotation... If we do indeed have money left after the Wong signing.
  21. I would love if Zach Green would take the 3B job and run with it... Big strong, kid... I mean he IS entering his prime years.
  22. Damnit.... The Athletic’s Ken Rosenthal writes that the Brewers are just “on the periphery of the bidding for Turner.”
  23. We could be against Braves, Mets, etc for Turner as well.
  24. With that news above, I'm definitely bringing down my excitement and chances that we land Turner. I'm sure we'll get the news this weekend they re-signed him.
  25. Read that signing Bauer does not change Dodgers pursuit of Turner... Must be fricken nice to have oodles of money.
