  1. Could we get either Drabek or Morrow for Prince? If so I am in.
  2. I think the Padres got a pretty good haul in this trade. 3 of the Red Sox top 5 prospects. I doubt the Brewers get close to this for Prince. I would be happy with a pitcher similar to Kelly and a low level prospect with a high ceiling.
  3. If Boston also adds either Crawford or Werth, they will for sure be my pick for the AL East. I think that offense will be better than NY and their pitching might be as well. I'm with you bucksman4, they should have taken Daniel Hudson last season and been done with Prince. But part of me wonders, with Gonzalez now off the trade market, early this hot stove season, maybe Fielder is a little more tradeable now.
  4. I was surprised by this, but it really is not a big move. I liked Carlos for the most part, but he often ran into bad streaks where he really couldn't be trusted.
  5. Season 3 FINALLY coming back on Thursday January 20th at 8:30 CST. Season 2 is now out on DVD. Bought it Tuesday, been great re-living all these great episodes.
  6. The guy on the show playing Dwight's new assistant, Nate, he is from Milwaukee. You may remember him from the K-Strass yo-yo videos that were on YouTube last year. Check out this link.
  7. I read the article today on my lunch at work. Really liked it, Crasnick is a good writer. My favorite part was the quote from Doug Melvin on what Roenicke said in his interview and it is true and good to use in any interview if you are not real experienced: "I don't have a lot of experience, but I've experienced a lot."
  8. I personally hope Coffey is the only guy non-tendered. I guess it wouldn't bother me if Inglett was too, but all the other guys I would like to see back in Brewers navy blue and gold.
  9. Little disappointed, but not really a big deal. I know some people in Menasha, Hinske is HUGE there. When he comes home somtimes he stops in at a local bar and all the drinks are on him.
  10. What are they predicting for Washington County?
  11. I'm only going to be looking to get guys like Rogers, Jeffress and Gamel. If they are there for some reason Odorizzi or Lawire would be sweet.
  12. Scott Boras is the devil. Plain and simple. Unless of course I was a baseball player, then I would want him to represent me. I just don't see anyway whatsoever that Prince does not hit free agency after the 2011 season. If he doesn't it would be one of the most shocking things I have ever seen in baseball.
  13. The Yankees have catcher Jesus Montero and a couple of pretty stud pitching prospects. One of the pitchers I know of is Manny Banuelos.
  14. Seen that Greinke may now be willing to go to New York and the Yankees and Royals are now talking. Can you imagine if they trade for Greinke and sign Lee? Good God. This could be their rotation: Lee Greinke Sabathia Hughes Pettitte That would be one of the most insane rotations I have ever seen. Edit: Ooops, and I forgot about Burnett. He had a down year, but still has good stuff and could bounce back. Yikes.
  15. Very intelligent, witty humor. I'm sure some don't like him because of the political overtones. But no matter what side of the spectrum you are on, you can laugh at either side.
  16. He will be missed, a true comedy legend. I like Will Ferrell a lot, but like the picture TooLiveBrew posted, Nielsen is the king of slapstick comedy.
  17. Anyone else a fan of DM and see this? As usual, he killed it. It is available On Demand if you missed it.
  18. My ballot: Alomar, Bagwell, Blyleven, Larkin, McGwire and Raines.
  19. I could see the Brewers visiting something like this in a couple years. As it is, they have Braun under control for five more years, basically all of what would be a ballplayer's expected "prime years." No reason for the club to rush into another extension with him.Yeah, I don't think they would do it soon, but maybe 2014 or during the last year 2015. Not a 10 year deal, but maybe 3 to 5 years.
  20. I wouldn't mind if the Brewers locked up Braun for longer before his current deal is up. But I am a mega Braun homer. To be he is the franchise and I hope to put him in the class of Yount one day as a lifetime HOF Brewer.
  21. On a Minor League deal I am fine with bringing in Washburn. What can he expect when he didn't pitch at all in 2010.
  22. I think if I ever left the area for me it would be cheese, Stadium Sauce and Lakefront Brewery Riverwest Stein.
  23. While two draft picks are nice, there is no way of knowing if those picks will ever turn out to be anything. Gavin Floyd is a proven major league arm who is no worse than a #3 starter and probably is more of a #2. If the White Sox want Prince and offer Floyd I think Doug would have a hard time turning that down to take a couple of picks in the draft. Just my opinion. I think the proof is in the numbers that Al posted in his posts.
  24. That is a great point. While we all thought those players could get extended, we had no idea really when and then boom! They happened. Although I think the Hart one literally came out of nowhere. Most of us thought he would get traded and then they extended him.
  25. I like the signing. Adds good depth and a switch hitter off the bench. I hope they ink Hinske as well.
