  1. Would never bet on a player hitting a home run in a given game, but you have to like his chances to have a shot at it. Saw this on Twitter so maybe someone can fact check it, but I believe Yelich’s line against the Reds last season was .482/.532/1.018 with 7 HR, 2 cycles, and 17 RBI in 14 games. Yelich destroyed the Reds worse than any team besides the Tigers last year, .429/.667/1.714 for a 2.381 OPS. Though only 12 PAs against the Tigers compared to 62 against the Reds. Christian has 50 career PAs against Roark (his most against any single pitcher) with a 282/440/308 line, so lots of single & walks so far with a lone double as his only XBH against Tanner.
  2. UPDATE!! just ran into HighHeat19 at the monster truck rally & he said there is a 100% chance this is an April Fool Day's joke.
  3. Texted back my friend & he confirmed that yes, they are listed as arriving today, April 1st.
  4. A friend of mine works for the company that handles Brewers/Bucks charter flights & just texted me that Keuchel & Kimbrel are both listed as arriving later this afternoon. Face to face negotiations? Maybe coming in for physicals?
  5. Since you've clearly already done the legwork yourself, please enlighten us.
  6. There is no way for you to actually know this to be true unless you have a record of the Brewers yearly revenues to compare to their yearly payrolls. Since you've stated this as fact, I will assume you do indeed have that information at your disposal, in which case I would be very curious for the Brewers top three seasons in terms of payroll as a percentage of revenue & also their bottom three seasons. It’s all a guesstimate. And you know that it is. All I’m going to say is if people really knew how much the revenue streams have EXPLODED for all teams not just the crew > shocking. How much have they exploded? Without the figures your guesstimates are just speculation, far less valuable than objective information. Even if they have exploded to a shocking degree, how much have operating costs increased over that same time frame? For how firmly rooted you are in your position & the frequency with which you state it, I guess I just erroneously assumed you had the figures to back it up. My bad.

  8. From a quick search it looks like only three seasons in MLB history have cleared the 350/50/140 benchmarks, so while technically possible probably not realistic. 1921 Babe 378/59/168 1927 Babe 356/60/165 1932 Foxx 364/58/169
  9. Brewers lose one game, panic & change their lineup. Cardinals just roll out the same lineup day after day like a true winning organiaztion.
  10. Obviously have to see how the season plays out, but Lagares started game one. The Brewers have started plenty of bad players over better options. Lagares is a bad, bad player. Lagares career | 1,837 PA | 12.9 bWAR | 8.2 fWAR | 4.2 bWAR/600 PA | 2.7 fWAR/600 PA Broxton career | 798 PA | 4.1 bWAR | 3.4 fWAR | 3.1 bWAR/600 PA | 2.6 fWAR/600 PA Lagares may indeed be a bad, bad player but Broxton has been just as bad, bad if not a little bit worse, worse to this point.
  11. Obviously have to see how the season plays out, but Lagares started game one.
  12. In 2001 the A's finished April 8-17, they made the playoffs. In 2006 the Twins finished April 9-15, they made the playoffs. In 2006 the Padres finished April 9-15, they made the playoffs. In 2007 the Yankkes finished April 9-14, they made the playoffs. In 2007 the Rockies finished April 10-16, they made the playoffs. In 2010 the Braves finished April 9-14, they made the playoffs. In 2014 the Pirates finished April 10-16, they made the playoffs. In 2015 the Rangers finished April 7-14, they made the playoffs. The 2019 Brewers are 1-1 so far.
  13. That's just the nature of humanity/The Internet, I'm afraid. People love to complain about any & everything, with or without provocation. There also seems to be a decent contingent of "fans" that would rather see their team lose so they can say how right they were about the team lacking instead of seeing their team win & having to face up to the possibility that maybe they aren't as smart as they think they are. & for the record I'm not complaining about others complaining or people who think they know more than those actually in charge, the whole thing honestly cracks me up, if it didn't I woulda checked out long ago.
  14. At least we have Yelich & Hader. Might have to do something about the other 23.
  15. Over the last two seasons Barnes has an 87 ERA- & 89 FIP-. He is an above average reliever that gave up some runs today.
  16. It was already said earlier in the thread when it was implied that Hook (who coached all our young pitchers in the minors) isn't a real pitching coach.
  17. People (incorrectly) wrote off Shaw before he even played an inning at 2B, at least we gave Moose 15 innings.
  18. Becuase run estimators indicate a team's best hitter batting 2nd typically results in more runs scored over the course of season.
  19. Three chances to score from 2nd on a single, removes the double play.
  20. I can understand how CC didn't see it coming, because there was no guarantee that what transpired was going to.
  21. Anyone able to tell how many 4 seam vs 2 seam vs cutters Freddy threw today? Outside of one obvious 2 seamer it looks like they were all 4 seamers to me.
  22. Wait...what? Another borderline pitch not going Peraltas way. Yea... Dude has 1 pitch. And ooooooo he has a sneaky delivery... gimme a break! Will never be a top 2 guy in a good rotation. The only pitchers we've had in my lifetime that would be a top 2 guy in a good rotation are Higuera & Sheets. If that is the standard you hold Brewer pitching prospects to you will be disappointed more often than not.
