Just doubled check, you are correct, it was year Colorado Springs moved from AAA to Rookie ball. Weird he is only one who has that. Almost forget San Antonio was our AAA for year. Even if we get ride of that part, ha he has been a really good prospect. Sucks he has lost two years with covid and injury but wish he'd get pushed up.

Ditto. He is legit our best 1B in the system. Brewer’s development of him makes little sense. In 19’ they throw 20 year old him up to AAA for 48 games & he was darn impressive. He lost 20’ cause of Covid. 21’ in A ball, 22’ hurt & misses whole season. 23’ now 24 just sitting in A+ with no promotions. Legit had 11.2 bb% .262 Ave, .802 ops, 113 wRC+, .18 iso in those 48 games & 188PAs at 20 in AAA. Since 21’ is combined line is 657 PA 11.7% bb 25.1% k, .266 Ave, .838 ops, .21 iso, 26.6 RAA 131 wRC+. I have spread sheet of all players combined stats since 21’ with color codes & metric for ranking prospects & outside of Ks hes right at top in most categories. Do Brewers just hate his 25% k so much that they refuse to push him like a quality bat should be. He should have gotten to AA by now.

I have similar view. I prefer him spending year 20 mostly at AAA in 24' and this year am okay with end of season bump to get his feet wet there. I Always believe a player should force your hand for a promotion. Has nothing do with wanting to take it slow with a player really, you want to see a level of torrid mastery. If he comes out in AAA and is hitting .300 with OPS .900 in June/July where it looks easy for him. His K's and swinging strikes look solid. He is giving great ABs. No reason to keep him in AAA. If he is out hitting .250 with .750 ops, don't you dare pull him up. He is too good of a bat to put up those numbers and means he is still adjusting. Let him click and cook a bit. Overall, he has to force their hands to reach majors next season outside of September Call-Ups. I'm 100% fine with him staying down all of next year if he is not dominating. I'm confident at some point next year he will do so but if not, September call up & Opening Day 25' CF. As for the article...... Jimmy Nelson was an established 30 year old MLB pitcher who was our Ace. After injury, Brewers build him up in AAA until June, called him up, he struggled, when back to AAA until September call ups and struggled. Not sure what your real plan was, not give your 30 year old Ace an opportunity to try in majors again? Keston never has a K problem at all until AAA in 19'. Outside of the K's he was an absolute monster in AAA and for the Brewers. Hard to say they rushed him when he produced .303/.368/.570 slash, 19 HRs, 2.4 WAR, 139 wRC+. Even with the K's, 30 of 30 teams will gladly live with the 30% K to get that type of production. He never had a K problem until AAA in 19'. He was a pro hitter profile with results as such. He simply had a regression where something with the swing fell off with contact ability. Has nothing to do with being rushed. Honestly, if we "rush" Chourio and he slashes .300/.370/.550 with 20 HRs, 2+ WAR (with his d prob higher) as a rookie. I'd be pretty darn happy. Also If he gets injured at 28 and misses a whole season at 29. I will not intentionally hold him back at 30 in minor leagues for an entire season

Brewers do have a lot of expenses they lease 3 minor league affiliates, own and maintain two state of the art facilities in Arizona & Dominican. They own Carolina as well but that generates revenue for the club. Bonuses for draft picks & international signings. Upgrades & maintain to AmFam & all the employees. Then so on. MLB in CBA should have made a rule that every team must spend the 100+ million given to them in rev sharing or lose the money. Moreover, with that money they should be able to push payroll higher. If you gain 100million extra, you should be able to go up more than 30-40 million. Now, this is all still new in 2022 so we have to see how it this new system works & if it does drive up payrolls or not.

I mean, NFL has a cap, NBA have a cap, & MLB is whatever you owner(s) are willing to spend. The NFL owners are swimming in money, but still limited on spending. NBA has 136 million cap for 15 players (9.1 mil per average). The Bucks revenue was 213.7 mil in 22’ NFL has 224.8 million cap for 53 players (4.25 mil per average. Packers had revenue of 610 million in 22’ Brewers brought in a Revenue of 294 million last season. A overall payroll of 131 million about 5.08 million per player. In 2023, Brewers for first time should cross the 300 million revenue mark this season. Oh & with revenue sharing of TV deals each team gets about 100million each before even selling a ticket. Brewers salary is 105 million this year btw, so players salaries aren’t even touching the money they are pulling in for 2023. Brewers aren’t broke, Covid hurt of course, but they do very well when it comes to profits. I mean, basically their revenue sharing covers over 78% of their salaries. Pinch nickels all you want, but Brewers have money to spend. After expenses this season, Mark A should have a cool 150 mil or much more just sitting in that Brewer account (aka his pocket).

He is more of a Blake Perkins. Minor League numbers line up pretty well (Perk a little more power) and athletic profiles line up . Think he could be MLB player but not buying stock that he is more than a 4-5 OF utility. Solid player, great value for 19th round pick!

Honestly, if CWS aren’t expecting much with down year & power outage, I wouldn’t mind Anderson. Now, he has only played 2 career games NOT a SS (2B twice this season) which is where he’d have to play unless they for some reason tried him at 3b. He doesn’t walk but has always hit for high average & isn’t a high K guy. Power has dropped past two years. Sometimes guys like him just need change of scenery. He has had stress of contract & them deciding they prob weren’t going to extend. That can throw guys off game. Maybe, he comes over, gets new life, gets back to hitting way he is has done most of his career, Don’t think he is best fit but he’s a 2 -4 War guy every year with wRC+ usually over 110. Defense has usually been pretty good. If it is him or Turang down the stretch at 2B, I’m betting on Anderson’s bat producing more.

Awesome! What else do you know about him and the the stuff he has? Pitch mix? Being drafted by Brewers you naturally assume he can spin the ball really well. He is a tough one to find much info on.

Yoho has had 2 TJ surgeries already, I could see them keeping in the pen & letting all his stuff play up while saving arm a bit. Surgery is getting better every year where past TJs mean less in terms of future limitations as it did in past. Guess just depends how comfortable Brewers are in his arm & motion.

Think with all the changes to rookie ball that plays a big role plus big investment in international market. There is only 1 rookie ball team to feed all the DSL & draft kids two now. You can’t have those large signing classes anymore. No where to put them. Take gambles on quality, if can’t sign, go out & fill positions with udfa’s. Since there is only 20 rounds, can still find good kids available.

Important to remember to give credit to proper people when it comes to Draft. Arnold is in the room, knows who’s on board but Tod & his group should get the credit they are do when they have a draft that’s exciting. They are on road year round, scouting, building relationships, figuring out pool strategy & what players will take where, and pulling the trigger on his guys. I’m not say Arnold is or isn’t a good GM. Imo the product on field is solid at best. Also the guys drafting should be credited for drafting. Let’s give Tod the love he deserves

Cooper liking this tweet of mine is good enough for me! Brewers sign all top 10 round guys. They are shooting 100% at it. They know the price & have deals somewhat lined up before they pick any player. I do love when some fans want high ceiling recognizable names up & down the top 10 rounds but it’s just not realistic. It is all strategy. You need your Woodward under slot type picks to sign your Pratt’s. Brewers have infused some very intriguing players into the mix & went outside normal box a little bit from way they had previous years under Johnson. Excited to see the kids hit the field & see what he have!

Jeison Peña is the surprise for me. At 19 got up to Wisconsin for few innings. Thought he might start there. My guess though is stretch him out more & get his command where it needs to. Last year really only worked 1-3 innings a game. Arguably one of the biggest pitchers to follow this summer. Apparently a ton of arm talent if he can harness the stuff. Tough kid to hit, with 30% K rate & opponents hitting less then .200 verse

I think Huira is still a very good dangling fruit for a team. He is only 25 still and a team confident in their hitter coaching/development could take that chance. He is an all-star bat if they can get him back to making contact and being the advanced hitter he was. Could be a Segura type thing. Change of scenery could get him back on track and get him to make contact again. I think Chourio & Frelick should be untouchable. Chourio's ceiling is way too high and Frelick's make up should make his floor at least a solid starter. I personally would add Kelly as well because I think he still has highest floor/ceiling combo to be an impact at MLB level. Guys like Weimer and Mitchell I'd hate to see go. Weimer has gone cold but up to this point has been outstanding. Mitchell just hasn't been healthy enough to really even maximize trade value so you'd be kind of selling low on him. I have a feeling that many teams would like to dive in and snag where Brewers are strongest, young lottery tickets in DSL to Carolina. A lot of exciting unproven potential in that group. Mendez I could see as a guy some teams could really like who may be easier to pry away than a Quero or Garcia and without the struggles with contact like Perez. Turang & Felicanio I could see being compelling for a rebuilding team. They are guys that right now could be called up and given a chance now while filling some gaps for that team. Our AAA team is basically journeyman and older guys so not much else there to really excite teams. Same could be said about AA pitching. Appears to be mostly guys who could maybe come up and file some innings but probably more AAAA types at best. Maybe Castaneda, I know some on here really like him...his season has been pretty eh though. A guy like Gray Jr. I could see a team wanting to be thrown in because of tools with hope they could increase contact.

I've been listening to more rap music since I'm starting to work out. Ordinarily don't like rap because of the content and language, but I like NF a lot, too. Really smart lyrics and clean. Propaganda is another guy you might want to check out. Witt Lowry & Ollie are two other ones I like who are similar. It’s completely coincidental they are all white rappers. They just rap in a style & lyrically that match things I can relate to. If I’m in rap mood I can still throw on J Cole, Lil Wayne (way he uses language is fascinating) Kendrick Lamar or Big Sean. Strongly dislike most rap my students listen to. Meaningless lyrics with big beats with small hook that plays over and over. My Spotify is just loaded with playlists from ton of genres ( I can’t have playlist that mix them, OCD that way) I go in big waves for week or two on a specific genre & then switch.

I’m big into Mumford & Sons. Their latest album I like, has moved more away from folk sound a bit to more Coldplay like. However, Judah & the Lion is very interesting band if you like old Mumford. They do really good job mixing it up and have just a different sound. New album just came out. If you don’t like that kind of sound with the banjo & mandarin mixed in probably avoid. For both I prefer studio or acoustic sets on YouTube that gets ride of the radio sounds & you can enjoy their talents as musicians more. Stapleton his outstanding! True musician with great sound that has been lost with pop country taking over the genre. NF is a rapper that I really like. Has that Eminem fire and passion but very good lyrics & purpose to songs unlike most of new rap that is repeating same lines that mean nothing of value to 99% of the population but have catchy beats.

So just found this out & not very important but did anyone know that Monte’s older brother plays for the Phoenix Suns? Shaquille Harrison? Pretty athletic family... not shocking lol

I have been selling Yelich hard since Marlins changed ownership and am to the moon excited for him to be here. I believe fully in his talent! We have him at a good price through the prime he is about to enter in a year or two. People are worried about producing runs if we trade Domingo but I legit think Yelich is a 20/20 hitter next year for the crew and would not be shocked if he hits 30/30 in the next 5 years. We can talk up and down about Brinson's potential but Yelich is a rising star right now with a proven track record of success. Maybe Brinson, Diaz, and Harrison star for them 3-4 years from now but we want to compete now. I am usually #1 prospect homer on this site but there are very few players in baseball that I don't even flinch at giving them up for. Yelich is one. Welcome aboard!
