  1. I didn’t realize the series was over. The Bucks were only 2 point favorites last night so I wasn’t the only person who expected a close game.

  3. Amazing what hits with runners in scoring position can do.
  4. I don’t think it’s greedy to be disappointed at only getting one run there. Between the first inning and this one the Brewers have left too many runs on the table.
  5. No, the league clarified a few days later that the umpires made a mistake in allowing Segura to go from second to first In short, the rules about returning to a base after touching the next one relate to returning on the same play. When a runner is on a base when a pitch is thrown he can’t go back to another one
  6. Even though that was illegal the one time he did it
  7. I wish there was some kind of delete feature. The way the pages jump around as the ads load I have accidentally hit a quote button on a post I didn’t mean to quote, and there doesn’t seem to be any way to edit that out or delete it.
  8. Ah, the game cast I was looking at said “injury to side”.
  9. Hiura at 2B isn’t something I want to see too much of.
  10. Is Wong out again with the oblique problems he had last year?
  11. Did Peralta even have time to sit down before the Brewers were retired?
  12. I realize that it’s a reflex action, but Peralta’s behind the back stab at that come backer prevented an easy DP and puts a runner in scoring position. And once again Peralta puts the team in a hole.
  13. First and third with nobody out and then pitiful ABs from the 3,4, 5, and 6 hitters.
  14. This sounds optimistic. The Bulls showed in the first two games that this series was going to be much tougher than everyone expected. Without Middleton this series becomes a tossup at best for the Bucks. Playing without Middleton against the Celtics (holding the home court advantage) I think makes the Celtics a pretty clear favorite. We found out last year that injuries can play a critical role in the playoffs; they clearly had a role in the Bucks getting past the Nets. This year the Bucks may be on the wrong side of that coin. Repeating as champions was always going to be a long shot, and it just got a lot tougher.
  15. I’ve heard enough comments about mechanical adjustments over the years for both hitters and pitchers to treat them with extreme skepticism. My comment was that Hiura has looked a lot like last year’s version and came after he struck out for the second time in the game swinging right through a pitch right down the middle. Last year’s version hit the ball occasionally too. I don’t know if the Brewers can afford to give him ABs more than a couple of times a week when they have better options in the spots he can fill (1B, 2B, and DH).
  16. Nice efficient sweep. This series highlights for me how important home runs are for this offense. 15 runs in the 3 games and I think 11 rode home on 5 HRs. Not a lot of traffic on the bases but still enough runs to win.
  17. This HR notwithstanding, my comments about Hiura are not based on a small sample size.
  18. Woodruff has really had Reynolds tied up today. Hayes will probably be his last hitter of the day one way or another.
  19. At least Counsell won’t have to face the critics for lifting a pitcher who hasn’t given up a hit. Woodruff getting his usual run support today.
  20. The offense has really gone quiet after the 4 run second yesterday. 2 solo HRs and very few baserunners.
  21. It’s the vicious circle. He hasn’t shown enough over the last two years to justify more ABs. Even if he goes down and gets regular playing time he comes back and piles up the Ks.
  22. The ads make scrolling through threads very clunky, especially on my ipad, which is what I usually use. I don't know if it's the ads but some times I have trouble posting because the site bogs down and I can enter complete sentences before the words appear.
