  1. Even if he catches it, it’s encouraging to see Yelich hit the ball with some authority to left, and it would have gotten a run in.
  2. I think the home plate ump is tiring. He’s starting to call strikes that he wasn’t calling an hour and a half ago in the first inning. I hate being at games with this guy behind the plate because if your seats are behind the plate you can’t see his strike call, which is both delayed and with his arm in front of him.
  3. I really hope Burnes didn’t hurt himself there. He hit the bag awkwardly and looked like he might have twisted his knee. He might be too embarrassed or stubborn to show it right away, but I would be watching him closely to make sure he isn’t favoring something.
  4. They’ve literally hit just one ball hard the entire game. I certainly wouldn’t advocate for removing him at this point, that would be awful for the bullpen to have to cover 7+ innings today. I wouldn’t take him out now but he’s going to be near if not over 50 pitches to get through 2 innings. He isn’t going more than 3 or 4 regardless, then the Pirates can feast on Lindblom. Double digits for the Bucs is pretty likely.
  5. Anyone want tickets for tomorrow? Not sure I can take 4 hours of watching the Pirates dink the ball all over the field while the Brewers flail away aimlessly.
  6. Schroeder: plenty of time to get the offense going. Me: There’s plenty of time but not plenty of offense.
  7. Does he have to give them days off on the same day though? Wait, yes he does, those off days have been on the calander for the past 2 weeks, they can not be changed, period. My guess is he is going to give Yelich and somebody else (Adames?) the day off tomorrow ……we fans want to see the best guys every day……obviously that isn’t how it’s going to work …..so I’ve come to grips with it…….CC has outperformed run differential just about every season I believe so I trust him and the front office to navigate through the season in the best way possible. Tomorrow is a Yelich bobble head day so Yelich has to sit.
  8. Did he have a lot of time to think about the throw? I missed it No, he fielded a swinging bunt on the run and almost beaned the batter running up the line.
  9. When Yelich hit that ball I expected to see an infielder standing right there for an easy DP.
  10. I saw an article today encouraging fantasy managers to pick up Brewers hitters because they will be facing teams with bad pitching for the next few weeks. The Brewers are showing tonight why that isn’t a good strategy. When the resistible force of bad pitching meets the movable object of the Brewers hitters, go with the resistible force.
  11. I have both deGrom and Scherzer on my fantasy team. I also have Boegarts as my SS and he was scratched tonight. Talk about a bad fantasy day.
