  1. This will probably be reversed. ETA: the way they seem to misapply the indisputable evidence standard when the Brewers are involved I expected a reversal.
  2. If you saw the highlight of Tatis 900 foot 3 run HR that tied their game against the Astros, what they didn’t show was that on the previous pitch he hit a foul pop up that should have ended the game. But, the 1B misplayed it and gave Tatis a second chance.
  3. Just what the doctor ordered for Game 1. Get an early lead and Freddy protects it with a minimum of drama. Now go into Game 2 with a fresh bullpen and try to get some runs off Lester.
  4. Yelich illustrating how the contact play is supposed to be executed. Get a good lead and a good jump and you can score on a ball hit right to an infielder. A complete contrast to what Hiura did when he failed to score the tying run in Wednesday’s game on a ball that should have been much easier to score on.
  5. My expectation is that if Freddy is on today, he pitches at least 6 and depending on the score he uses Hader in the first game and then the second game Counsell has Boxberger and Williams to cover the 6th and 7th assuming Anderson gets you 5. I could be wrong.. but I think we sweep here today. Shortening the game favors the team with the better bullpen and the Brewers have that. I think 7 inning games favor the team with the better starter, and can be easier for a team with a weak bullpen to navigate. The big question as always is whether the Brewers can score some runs. Even against pitchers that the league has knocked around there’s no guarantee.
  6. That’s not all bad for the Brewers after how they used their bullpen the last two days. They should be reasonably well equipped to cover 14 innings tomorrow, though the weather could still be ugly throughout the east for a few days.
  7. Seems like he was running pretty hard but couldn’t get to a ball that was hooking away from him and hit off the wall.
  8. Yeah, one thing I've really liked about the Brewers for a long time is that the team always seems to be comprised of good dudes. Sure, I want to win a World Series, but it wouldn't be fun if it was with a bunch of heels. Yeah, it would still be fun. I want the team to win, they aren’t coming for Thanksgiving dinner either way.
  9. I said before it started that I’d be very happy with a split against one of the best teams in MLB that came in smoking hot. Pulling out today’s game saved what would have been two very discouraging losses in a row. My only disappointment is that they now go into Washington with the bullpen in bad shape to face a much less imposing opponent.
  10. The Padres start the 10th with Pham on second where he’s a threat to steal third and will score on any kind of hit. The Brewers will start with Narvaez on second, where he might not score on a double. That also eliminates any thought of trying to have Hiura bunt because there’s no way to get Narvaez to third that way. So, it will be the “two true outcomes” for Hiura, a strikeout or a lazy pop up to the right side. I note that it took a snappy 3 hours and 40 minutes to complete 9 innings.
  11. Not what you want to see. Williams having to throw a lot of pitches on his second day in a row and facing the middle of the order.
  12. Who saw that the Rays used Feyerheusen to close last night in a 1-0 game. He gave up a HR to Benintendi leading off, but retired the side in order after that, and pitched the 10th without surrendering a run, even after the Royals bunted the free runner to third. He then got the win when the Rays scored in the last of the 10th.
  13. That was crushed. Didn’t know he had that in him. Now, back to the bullpen. Are Williams and Hader both ready?
  14. No need to think about who will pitch the rest of the way now. By the time Yardley is done it likely won’t matter
  15. I haven't seen the scoring, but I think a hit, then an error for it getting by Tatis and allowing the run to score and then a throwing error to allow the runners to advance right? That’s what I would score it.
