  1. Woodruff has no one to blame but himself for losing this game tonight. He should have learned from the Phillies game that you can’t give up a run.
  2. To be fair I think he always has an awkward look to him when he walks away after striking out I’m talking about before he strikes out. He seems to be grimacing and twisting like he isn’t sure he can swing without hurting himself.
  3. Agree 100%. He was billed as a pure hitter so it is really sad to see him just swing through fastballs down the middle. I think the league figured out at least as early as everyone in this board that Hiura was looking like a bust.
  4. It doesn't seem like this is the first time this year he came in and gave up a devastating HR allowing all the baserunners to score. Maybe that isn't the time to put him in, better to have him start the inning. In Suter’s defense, the first two hitters he faced hit weak grounders that easily could have (should have) produced the two outs to end the inning. Facing hitters like Freeman with the bases loaded is asking for trouble, and the Brewers got it.
  5. Tell me you just started following the Brewers without saying you just started following them I started following the Brewers when I skipped a day of my senior year in high school to watch them lose 12-0 to the Angels on Opening Day 1970. I think I’ve earned the right to be a cynic. Maybe I should have put my comment about the Brewers being built on pitching and defense in blue. I didn’t expect people to take it that seriously. But, the next time I hear that this year’s team is built on pitching and defense, I’ll just think that anyone at today’s game who would never guess that unless they left after the 6th inning.
  6. Today was the first game we attended this year. What was a nice relaxing game turned into one that we left in disgust after the walks and errors set up Freeman’s GS. Now I’m home, going on almost 4 hours after the game started seeing Hader on the verge of completing the monumental collapse. I’m not sure what I’ll do the next time someone says this team is built on pitching and defense.
  7. Just what the Brewers need to face: a good pitcher who hits better than the Brewers hitters. Another day that Brewers pitchers have to approach as “Shutout or Bust”
  8. We have tickets to see our first game of the season tomorrow. We may be witnesses to the first time a team has gone hitless two games in a row.
  9. Nashville also hitless their first time through the order. Did Yelich at least hit the ball this time?
  10. At least Yelich is striking out at Nashville. They actually might be this bad all season if Counsell is serious about going to a 6 man rotation during stretches without off days.
  11. Seems like it is possible for a team to score runs even with its best player out.
  12. That should be more than enough runs for even Drew Smiley.
  13. Guess the ball isn’t dead if you hit it hard enough
  14. Three walks, a balk, a hit batter and a couple of blistering line drives will usually produce a few runs. I would say Houser was lucky to get of the inning with only two.
  15. This is the night the Brewers have to put up some runs. Anderson and Ynoa are not bad. It says something that the Braves held out Smyly against the Blue Jays so he could pitch against a team he might have a chance against.
  16. When I’m at home I can do other things, like read a book, do a crossword, surf the web, etc, while I have the game on as background. But at the game there aren’t other diversions, and a game like today would not have been very entertaining. We have tickets for Sunday, but I don’t have high expectations for excitement.
  17. This game is a good example of why baseball games are hard to attend in person. A game that’s 1-0 going into the 9th inning with very little action, and it’s going to take 3 1/2 hours.
  18. I’m going to be pissed if Perdomo puts this out of save range. I have Reyes on my fantasy team and as long as the Brewers are going to lose I might as well get something good out of it.
