  1. You know things are going bad when even the wins highlight the team’s weaknesses. At least they got the salvage win for the series.
  2. Now it’s exactly like the last game before the break last year. Blow a big lead, but push across a run to go back ahead by one. Any bets on whether the ending tonight will be different than that one?
  3. He wants to show people that calling up guys from AAA that have decent numbers is not the answer to this team’s woes.
  4. Going to a family event soon. Obviously won’t miss much watching the Brewers get pounded. Good thing they got the salvage win on Monday.
  5. We’d better get our laughs in now because there’s a good chance he’ll be closing out games against the Brewers before long after their left handed starters shut down the offense for 8 innings. Kimbrel’s ERA is going to be inflated for a long time because of the two cheap runs last night and the two HRs he gave up in the blowout loss on Monday. Even closers who aren’t trying to shake off rust often seem to have problems in those non save, low leverage situations.
  6. I really question that 40% catch probability. Contreras got to the ball and should have caught it. I don’t know what kind of jump he got, but it’s hard for me to believe that a catcher got as good a jump on the ball and covered as much ground as an average major league right fielder. And even then he should have caught it. Regardless, it was a cheap, fly ball “hit”.
  7. They're 6-5 in their last 11. And 7-12 in their last 19, all of which have been against teams with losing records. Anyone who would have said before this stretch of games that the Brewers would go 10-9 would have been branded a hopeless pessimist. But just 10-9 would give them a 4 game lead over the Cubs and a nice cushion over the rest of the division.
  8. It’s not a matter of being worried about the Cubs. It’s a matter of enjoying watching them lose.
  9. Lol at kimbrel. This would be so great if he stinks for three years That blown save falls on the Cubs defense. I just tuned in in the 9th inning and have no idea why Contreras was playing right field. But he butchered a simple fly ball that should have been the second out but instead put runners on second and third. Then the second baseman threw home trying to cut down the tying run at the plate and the winning run scored on a sac fly. So, Kimbrel gave up a walk and got 4 outs but it wasn’t good enough.
  10. They won’t finish behind the pirates. But the reds they could. It’s so disappointing with the years moose and Yelich are having The Brewers may not FINISH behind the Pirates, but they might be behind them going into the break.
  11. If nothing else, the Brewers crappy play over the last month has turned the division into a five team race. And the Brewers could very easily finish fifth.
  12. How long have you been a baseball fan? Long enough to know that the Brewers might win with this horrible lineup and pitching matchup, but probably won’t?
  13. Since the Brewers got their one win for the series I guess they can concede this one.
  14. That game was handed away. But, since the Brewers already have the salvage win for the series anything else in this series would be gravy.
  15. Why is it a gimmick? Because hes not fast? He had the highest OBP on the team outside of Yelich(and Thames slightly). The goal should be...get more guys on base in front of Yelich. Grandal leading off does that. Putting a guy with below average speed in front of your fastest baserunner doesn’t make a lot of sense to me. I want guys on base when Grandal comes up too.
  16. I wonder if Cain will be going on the DL after today so he can rest and heal up and be ready to return next Friday after the break.
  17. I’ll defer to someone who follows these rules more closely, but I think the Brewers have 7 days from the date of the DFA to trade, release, or send Perez outright to the minors. Perez could elect to not accept an assignment to the minors and become a free agent. So, as of today, he still is part of the Brewer organization but he is not on the 40 man Brewers roster or of any of its affiliates. Something will have to happen by the end of the week.
  18. It probably also irks Cardinals fans to see Luke Voit thriving at first base for the Yankees.
