No, what I have said very clearly is that the manager gets too much credit and too much blame. You seem to be saying that the two time manger of the year is a fraud, or that he has suddenly lost his touch when presented with a “paper thin roster”.

And what I’m saying is that in game moves can be greatly overrated in a baseball game. If the hitters don’t hit and the pitchers can’t get guys out the manager is not going to make a difference. Message board posters who can second guess everything are never wrong.

Like telling James Wood to hit? You’re putting WAY too much weight on the mangers for the results of these three games.

What manager is going to be successful with a paper thin roster? The front office decided that they could sell tickets based on last season’s success and only made moves that made this year’s team worse.

I don’t think Murphy’ is the problem.

Who were the good ones? I think he was out of good relievers in the first inning.

What else could it be? Maybe an illness, but with his history a back or oblique problem is much more likely.

Looks like Yelich will be headed for the IL.

I didn’t think it was possible, but it looks like Lockridge has a worse arm than Yelich.

Cubs have nothing to do with the Brewers at this point. If the Brewers don’t straighten out they will be fighting with everyone else in the division too.

I was irritated in the off-season that the Brewers traded their best SP and did nothing to improve the offense. While other teams that think they are contenders make moves to improve themselves in the off-season, the Brewers make themselves worse while accumulating a strong minor league system. Maybe at some point they need to trade some of these great prospects to get some proven major league hitting. We hear about the great depth of pitching in the organization but most of them seem to be bottom of the rotation starters at best when they aren’t injured.And they are often injured. If the poster who responded to my post the other day with the comment that Chourio and Vaughn are not that much better than the players currently playing is correct, this is going to be a long season.

How do you feel about the Brewers facing Griffin the way he’s been throwing and the Brewers have been hitting?

So, it appears that the bullpen, and offense are both weaknesses right now.

Two lousy hits since the first inning. With the bottom of the order coming up in the ninth, the bullpen is going to have to hold them for two innings and hope to pull one out with the free runner in the 10th

The bottom of this order is really a black hole. It will be nice when Chourio is getting these at bats instead of Perkins.

The TV coverage of that was spectacular. There was nothing like that for the Mercury, Gemini and Apollo missions in the 60s and early 70s.

Cute use of the opener is a major fail.

A significant part of my concern is that I don’t think several of the hitters who have carried the team in the first few games (Sanchez, Mitchell, Yelich, Hamilton) can or will continue the pace that they performed at in the first 10 games. The offense has been great in the games the Brewers have won and completely missing in the games they have lost. Going forward I’m concerned that there will be a lot more of those 0-2 run games if they have to keep putting out the lineups they have been using. I’d rather see guys like Mitchell and Bauers batting in the 6-8 spots than in the heart of the order.

I think the biggest weakness is the everyday lineup, especially against left handed pitchers. The issue should be solved if Vaughn and Chourio can come back and no other significant injuries hit. That includes Turang’s ankle problem not turning into a bigger problem.

I hope this team is not in a big hole before the end of May. So far, so good, but the injuries are really piling up for so early in the season. -
