  1. That HR eases the frustration from only getting one run off 5 hits and a walk from the first 9 batters.
  2. Good road trip and good series, but 17 AB with RISP without an RBI is frustrating.
  3. Not by Uribe. Uribe might need a trip to AAA to straighten out.
  4. Another scoring opportunity bungled. Very frustrating.
  5. Can they pinch hit for Wiemer is there no other OF left on the bench?
  6. So, it’s a four inning game now with Burnes out. I would have taken that starting the day, but I’m still lamenting the missed opportunities.
  7. Brewers are 2 for 13 with RISP and the 2 hits were a bunt and infield hit that didn’t drive in runs. Plenty of missed opportunities, though at least they got 3 runs and drove Burnes out of the game.
  8. Three miserable ABs with runners on second and third and nobody out.
  9. I like Contreras second because he gets on base a lot and can advance a leadoff runner by hitting to right. Hoskins with his DP and base clogging potential is more of a number 5 hitter for me.
  10. If he’s not going to wear a cap, I hope for his sake that Ripken puts a lot of sunscreen in the top of his bald head.
  11. If you saw my earlier post I was questioning having Contreras and Hoskins hitting 1-2 instead of having at least the chance of someone being on base for their first AB’s.. Going forward in the game it makes less difference with Perkins in front of them instead of Wiemer.
  12. I like home runs and doubles with men on base even more.
  13. Having Contreras and Hoskins 1 and 2 is kind of odd to me instead of having someone with more speed (Frelick or Perkins or Turang or Ortiz) at the top with the others in position to advance them or drive them in. If Burnes is on he could really pile up the Ks with Hoskins, Sanchez, and Wiemer to feast on for starters.
  14. Kind of a sacrificial lamb Sunday lineup today to face Burnes. Chourio does look like he needs a day off and with Yelich out and not wanting to have Contreras catch again there might not be many options. I hope Hoskins can help more with the bat than he gives up in the field.
  15. The Brewers offense has been great since the game we went to last Saturday when they had like 2 hits in 7 innings.
  16. At least this Hoskins DP didn’t come with a man on third.
  17. A couple of weeks before that game I looked at the schedule and saw that the Brewers had a long road trip after. I thought Yount might be reaching 3000 about then and if he didn’t he’d probably get it on the road trip. I worked for a banking organization that had about 40 season tickets that they let employees request if they weren’t being used by anyone to entertain customers. So, I put in for 4 and got some box seats not far behind the Brewers dugout. About a week before it didn’t look he’d be getting to 3000 by then, but he suddenly got 7 hits in 4 days and was only 3 away going into a Labor Day game against the Indians. So, I went to that game where he got 2998, then again the next night where he got 2999 in the first inning, but went hitless the rest of the game. So I went to the next game with 3 work colleagues and,, after a rain delay and two hitless ABs, we had great seats for the big moment. And it wasn’t long before that (maybe the year before) that we saw Nolan Ryan get his 300th win against the Brewers.
  18. Compared to a good, much less championship caliber, teams the Brewers lineup is sad to me. You can choose a different word if you want.. One 12 run game that includes a couple,of runs off a position player and a lot of advanced stats showing that the Brewers offense is close to average won’t change my opinion. Let’s see some more games and see how things unfold.
  19. Good job by Contreras getting to third on that.
  20. Bauers is not a “kid” by baseball standards. He’s a 28 year old journeyman.
  21. Frelick needs a timeout. That was a lazy error.
