    What happened? Not able to watch.

    Game 1: Pivetta mowed down the Cubs through 4. Suzuki and Kelly hit solo HRs in 5th. Cubs bullpen was flawless. Game 2: Cubs played poorly, especially on offense. Padres record 11 K. Game 3: Cubs receive gifts from Darvish in 2nd inning. Cubs score only on solo HR after. Cubs pen runs out of gas and should have had bases loaded nobody out in the ninth. Padres had opportunities but the ninth inning could very easily had been a story of Counsell overusing his bullpen and it backfires in the end. One more out and Padres flip their batting order and Tatis/Arraez bat.

    Rea has 5.59 ERA against Milwaukee in 2025. Boyd has 7.84 ERA against Milwaukee in 2025. Too early to ‘bullpen’ game one

    Were there moments in the regular season when the Cubs defense thwarted the Brewers offense? I recognize the value of PCA. Dansby can be good but is aging. Nico is solid. I don’t buy Happ, Tucker or Suzuki as valuable defenders. Shaw has made good plays. I don’t much worry about first base defense.

    If it ends up being the Cubs who we face, it will be an incredible series. I prefer Craig Counsell not receive an opportunity for validation for leaving Milwaukee.

    Let’s assume the Brewers have a 60% chance of beating either the Padres or the Cubs. The 40% chance we lose to the Cubs in a five game series outweighs any joy of eliminating Chicago. I don’t even want Michael Busch to hit a leadoff double in game one.

    Miller used to be a starter and might be again in the future. I’ll assume Miller is unavailable tomorrow.

    Miller and Morejon pitched in game one and two. I assume they are available in game three? If necessary I wonder if Yu Darvish has anything left in the tank.

    Should Counsell pinch hit for PCA with runners on first and second against LH reliever? Probably not in the fourth inning, but I wonder if he would later in the game
