  1. Second time through the order. Now we’ve seen him! 🙂
  2. I can’t even tell if this is our ‘Sunday lineup’ anymore. 🙂
  3. 28-year-old right-hander Casey Mize makes his second career start against Milwaukee. Mize last faced the Brewers on 6/8/24 allowing 8 H, 2 BB, 5 R, 3 ER and striking out one batter over 5.1 IP. Brewers won 5-4. Mize has pitched well this season thanks largely to his splitter which he has used 30% of the time. The majority of what Mize throws is off speed. Chad Patrick had one of his best career starts last time out, needing only 82 pitches to complete 6.2 IP against Toronto. Patrick makes his first career appearance against Detroit. Chad has thrown a fastball 85% of the time this season (cutter, four seam or sinker).
  4. It seems odd to me for Devin to seemingly have a negative experience in New York last season and sign across town in the off season. Even if the money was there from the Mets. McLean had perfect game into the 6th, too...
  5. Woodford hasn't walked anyone in 6 of 7 outings. His FIP is 3.61 🤷‍♂️🙂
  6. Club record five triples in one game. Source
  7. October 1, 1974 another time source A few times in the 70s. I stopped looking.
  8. Brewers had back to back triples on May 10, 1970. source
  9. Let’s not overlook David Hamilton. He might go the entire season without an extra base hit, but he is walking 17% of the time. 0.5 WAR through 59 PA is acceptable.
  10. Tigers are 8-2 over the last 10 games and 8-1 at home this season. Brewers took two of three from the Tigers in Milwaukee last season. Brewers lost the Skubal/Tyler Alexander matchup.
  11. 25-year-old right-hander Keider Montero has been effective through three starts this season. Montero is 1-1 with a 1.66 FIP and 3.31 ERA allowing 12 H, 2 BB with 15 K over 16.1 IP. Milwaukee defeated Montero on 4/16/25, winning 5-1. Montero surrendered 8 H, 1 BB, 3 HR, 5 ER while striking out 8 batters over 5 IP. source Kyle Harrison makes his first start since "the incident" on April 11. Harrison last faced Detroit on 9/26/25. Harrison allowed 7 H, 3 BB and 3 ER while striking out 6 over 3 IP. source Looking ahead to Thursday, Sproat faces Skubal.
  12. The Reds outfield has been jarringly below replacement level.
  13. Batting average.
  14. I think the organization knows who Perkins is at this point. Not much chance to catch lightning in a bottle anymore than we already did with Perkins. Might as well give Jones and Matos another look. Lara is close, I would think.
  15. With Rengifo's rapid ascension (reaching base five times over two games), the Brewers are now at 0 WAR from 3B position this season. Rengifo has 14 G at 3B and Hamilton has 8 games at 3B. It is worth noting that Rengifo has .188 BABIP this season, nearly 100 points lower than his career average. Better days area ahead. The Brewers are at 0.3 WAR from SS position this season. Oritz with 15 G at SS and Hamilton with 6 G at SS. Milwaukee has 17th best bWAR from SS this year. The Brewers have -0.4 bWAR from RF. Frelick has 18 G, Perkins with 2 G and Matos with 2 G from RF. source
  16. 23 year old right-hander Eury Pérez makes his second career start against Milwaukee. Last time on 7/27/25, Perez went five innings allowing 2 H, 2 BB, 1 ER while striking out 6. The Brewers won 3-2. Pérez averages 98.2 mph with his fastball but hasn't been particularly effective this season: 1-1 with 5.40 ERA, 5.67 FiP, 1.55 WHIP and 5 BB/9. source Jacob Misiorowski makes his fifh start of the season and first ever against Miami. For Miz, strikeouts are up and so are home runs allowed but walks are down this season. Miz's fastball averages 98.5 mph this season. Off day on Monday.
  17. The Brewers are comfortably in last place in terms of OPS from SS position this season but 17th for bWAR from SS. Unrelated note, Rengifo raised his OPS by 80 points with two hits, yesterday.
  18. Right-hander Sandy Alcantara makes his sixth career start against Milwaukee. Alcantara hasn't been quite the same since Tommy John surgery in October 2023 but had made three excellent starts to start the season before being roughed up by the Tigers on April 12. The Brewers tagged Alcantara for 5 ER during his last start against Milwaukee on 7/4/25. source Brandon Woodruff makes his seventh career start against the Marlins. Woodruff made two starts against Miami last season allowing 6 H, 3 BB and 3 ER over 12 IP while striking out 14 (2.25 ERA). Brewers won both games. source Sure would be nice to more than Woodford as a fresh arm in the bullpen tonight. i'm not sure if I'm ready to pause the Coleman Crow experience, though, either. I think Woodford has been fairly good in low leverage situations and could deserve a chance in a closer game.
  19. All NL Central teams over .500. Best division in baseball?
