  1. 8 of those hits came against a position player. I am also equally surprised by Toronto’s +55 run differential (seems like it should be higher) and Colorado’s -316. Rockies will shatter the all time record.
  2. Kudos to Cubs Andrew Kittredge. Got lit up for 4 runs yesterday. Pitches immaculate inning today (3 K on 9 pitches)
  3. 111 pitches, zero hits allowed by Gavin Williams for Cleveland. Guardians are 1.5 GB in Wild Card. They have 4-0 lead. I probably go to the bullpen but Williams is back for the 9th.
  4. For a very deep cut, I wonder if Strider ever pitched at Class A Dunedin. Probably pronounced differently.
  5. Game thread, Cortes thread, Misc news or Devers thread 🙂 This will be interesting to watch, though!
  6. I wonder what the earliest date is for starting this thread each year
  7. .733 winning percentage equates to 118-44 record over 162 games. Two wins better than the 2001 Seattle Mariners. I appreciate our game threads never take a night off from encouraging Murphy to consider ways to improve performance which otherwise has been better than pretty much any team in the history of baseball since late May. 🚀 🙂
  8. Devin Williams, tonight: Ground out, double, walk, walk, 2 RBI single from Rowdy Tellez, ground out then removed.
  9. In praise of Peralta, he is already over 3 WAR for only $8 million salary. That’s fair value.
  10. Let’s see what Peralta does with ten pitches? 🤷‍♂️ Probably best to let a reliever start with a clean inning.
  11. Devin’s FIP is 3.23. He’s striking out 11.7 per 9 (quite a bit lower than usual). 1.13 WHIP. 17 for 20 on save opportunities. I think Devin will improve in 2026 outside of New York.
  12. Thursday: Yankees trade #10 and 28 prospects for Jake Bird Tuesday: Bird optioned to AAA after allowing 6 ER in 2 IP
  13. I walked away from my phone after Gameday said Swanson got an RBI. Came back and score was still 3-2 🙂
  14. Soroka exits with shoulder discomfort after two innings in Chicago. Can’t get your #13 and 14 prospects back at this point.
