  1. I’m not aware of any pitcher reacting like Burnes and not needing surgery.
  2. Brewers have rarely minded taking some risks on short term deals. It’s the $180+ million long term deals we avoid.
  3. I assume we are taking things slow with Civale. Would be great to not have to use all our leverage relievers on back to back days 🙂
  4. Hoping Civale can pitch six innings today. He has not eclipsed 79 pitches yet this season.
  5. My hope is Woodruff brings a veteran excitement to the clubhouse and continues to galvanize the team. Not exactly replacing the Adames clubhouse presence but more of a ‘let’s win for Woodruff’ he worked hard to recover from injury and has been a Brewer longer than anyone else on the roster.
  6. Luis Severino and Jack Flaherty are the two closest comps based on similarity score on Baseball Reference. Flaherty signed two years, $35 million and Severino signed three year, $67 million. If I were Peralta’s agent, four years $80 million seems like a reasonable ask.
  7. I feel for Burnes. It is also a data point for the risks of signing players long term after arbitration years are over. I respect how hard and well Burnes has played throughout his career and wish him a speedy recovery.
  8. First AB back in big leagues:
  9. There certainly is no guarantee the compensation pick plus Rodriguez would ever accumulate more than one win above replacement level
  10. Priester has ten appearances for Milwaukee. Two were bad (Cardinals and Cubs). Eight were good or fine. 🤷‍♂️
  11. If Priester gets out of the 7th with fewer than 50 pitches, do you send him out for the 8th?
  12. Easier to find pitchers to get 12 outs per game than it is to find pitchers get 15+ outs per game. Or, maybe that’s what 2025 has lead me to believe 🤷‍♂️
  13. Wouldn’t it seem very Brewers of us if Payamps immediately resumed his eighth inning set up role if he is recalled later this season?
  14. In what way would foul balls benefit the pitcher? It would seem the more pitches thrown helps the batter, generally. I love these topics, though!
  15. Tyler Alexander doesn’t seem to have a bright future for us. It’s been a few years since he’s been good.
