Maybe we just carry three first baseman? I mean, goodness. Hoskins is not the same guy as he was with the Phillies but can we really just hide him in Nashville beyond next week?

We should understand that perspectives shared during the game threads do not necessarily reflect our actual thoughts.

The Bauers from April/May with OPS over .800 would be nice. I think they are giving Bauers one last look before recalling Hoskins next week.

They each play 3-4 days per week until someone wins the job? 🤷♂️

Nearly every other team gave up a lot more and received similar or worse results. We gave up nearly nothing for Shelby Miller and the prospect we traded for Jansen was not in our top 30. I agree that Jansen might be our 4th or 5th best catcher behind Contreras, Haase, Siegler and Quero. If nothing else, Contreras has been remarkable at the plate since we traded for Jansen. 🙂

The difference between Peralta and Webb is a couple additional outs per start, probably less.

I do agree there should be more of a middle ground between Yelich starting seven days a week and being on the injured list

Seems like someone should have higher than .783 OPS (PCA) to win MVP? 🤷♂️ .624 OPS after the all star break (PCA)

Devin Williams ERA up to 5.60. It’s getting harder to imagine him making the playoff roster. His K/9 is not too far from career norms. His BB/9 is better than career norms. HR/9 and H/9 are up. WHIP is same as it was in 2021. BABIP is .307 this season.

Civale and Carlos Santana to Cubs. Walker Buehler to Phillies. I forgot about late August DFAs.

Bauers DFA 100% You can squint hard and see Seigler’s value. Bauers has proven himself to be a likeable replacement level player or perhaps an ounce worse.

Given that the Cubs traded four prospects for Willi Castro and Mike Soroka, I’m glad for what Milwaukee did and did not do.

Bullpen should be alright today, if Miz goes five. It would be nice to not have to use Uribe for a third game in four days, though.
