  1. Would Oliver Dunn accept 5 year, $35 million extension?
  2. Blake Perkins 1.8 WAR over 434 PA is a good find. Or, 2016 Keon Broxton
  3. If any of Capra, Dunn or Durbin end up with meaningfully above replacement level production at 3B this year, is Milwaukee brilliant, lucky or cheap? We do such a good job turning unknowns into solid pitchers. I’m trying to think of the last time we did the same with a position player.
  4. That question works both ways. We don’t know if the Brewers profitability is below or above what the Brewers ownership group wants or expects. 60% of the Brewers are owned by not Mark A.
  5. 3B WHOAH SOLVVD
  6. I’m here to see if we can play this game without devolving into a debate about payroll flexibility 🙂
  7. I think the Dodgers get over $300 million per year in television revenue. I’m sure the Dodgers ownership are smart people. If they purchased the franchise at a specific price expecting $ X dollars of profit per year and there is a proposal to diminish their profit by a meaningful percentage, they would understandably say no.
  8. Doesn’t that seem like a mistake from a pricing perspective?
  9. In fairness, Cubs fans probably out number Brewers fans 10 to 1 throughout the country.
  10. Haase had .819 OPS in 69 PA for Milwaukee in 2024. .870 OPS in Nashville. Haase had 2 WAR per season in 2021 and 2022 for Detroit in 323 to 352 AB per season. There are glimmers of optimism there.
  11. 1-2 year deal for an innings eater with some upside. At age 34, who knows what Stroman had left. I don’t love his public comments about being a starter or nothing. The Brewers don’t seem to mind spending money on 1-2 year commitments, like Hoskins.
  12. Would we want to buy low on Marcus Stroman and his $18 million contract for this year? Only problem, if he pitches 140 innings or more this year then he gets a player option for $18 million for 2026. https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/43843555/marcus-stroman-rejoins-yankees-camp-eyes-starter-role
  13. With the start of Spring Training, let’s agree to be excited for the offseason to essentially be over? 🙂
  14. Fair. At the same time, is it possible Kim prefers spending more time In Florida than Wisconsin? I love Milwaukee but can understand if some elite athletes do not.
  15. LOL Quarter billion 🙂 Quarter million seemed like a lot when I typed it.
  16. Would an A grade require signing a free agent to a quarter billion dollar contract or trading all of our prospects to ‘go for it’ ? Are we grading excitement, shrewdness or something else for offseason success?
  17. Maybe it’s better to acquire talent mid season when teams get ready to sell? There aren’t many free agent deals where I wish Milwaukee signed them instead. The offseason should be judged based on the regular season results. The Brewers should have a nice regular season and our offseasons rarely are splashy.
  18. Bregman had .755 OPS during road games last year. The short porch at Daikin Park (?) really aids Bregman.
  19. Doesn’t it seem that Yelich is either injured or practically playing every single day? There doesn’t seem to be much of a middle ground.
  20. The optimist in me reads the quote as he may be ready for opening day. I appreciate the sentence reads the same as the thread title. Seems like under promising by Arnold. In any case, we have the outfielders to be competitive without Yelich. We certainly what Christian to be healthy in October.
  21. I remember being devastated when Gallardo injured his knee in 2008.
  22. Saw MLB.com continued its annual tradition of hoping for a breakout season from Jordan Walker. Am I missing something other than a high slugging percentage in the Texas League at a very HR friendly park in 2022? Age 20, sure. Walker had .750 OPS in AAA in 2023 and 2024. Granted, he is still younger but it doesn’t seem like he warrants national media coverage for possible breakout season. Age 23, this year. article
  23. I’m genuinely surprised Pittsburgh is ahead of Cincinnati. Doesn’t FanGraphs see how electric EDLC is?
  24. I assume Milwaukee wants lower expectations of Woodruff so there is less pressure or disappointment if his performance takes time to ramp up. There is no reason for the Brewers to say they are expecting 150+ IP and sub-three ERA.
