  1. Hmmmm....this is interesting regarding Ashby. If he's not on the minor league roster, that hast to mean that he's either up at the Alt Site - or on the taxi squad (are they basically one in the same?), right? Given his age though, I would have thought that they'd want him down getting in a full ST with his minor league teammates.
  2. Is it safe to assume that minor league spring training is currently going on (for those younger guys that aren't on the Alt Training Site roster) down in Arizona? With minor league seasons starting next month, I'm guessing that they must be playing some games down in AZ right now, correct? I'm just surprised that we aren't getting any kind of updates from those games? Usually the Brewers do a great job of tweeting out updates through their Player Development account, but I've seen nothing so far. So, that has my wondering - have games not started down there yet?
  3. I don't really track defensive stats/metrics, so can someone more in the know there give an evaluation of Dee Gordon as a 2B? I know he won a gold glove 6 years ago, but just curious if his defense has fallen off significantly since then? Either way, it is a bit surprising that there isn't a spot for a guy like Dee anymore in today's baseball. Still only 32 and has been a solid player over the years. I know he had the PED situation, so maybe his stats were inflated because of that - but seems like a guy that has always hit for a decent average, plays good D and has had really good speed on the base paths. Maybe I'm off base, but probably a guy that would have fit better in MLB back in the 80's and 90's. In today's game though, it's all about OPS - and that's something he's never excelled at.
  4. As bad as the Keston struggles are (and they are really getting concerning), I'm almost more worried about what we're seeing through 4 games from Yeli. He's looked as lost at the plate during these games as he was throughout that crazy 60 game season last year. I had hoped it was just a a fluky Covid season for him, but I'm getting more and more worried that this might be something that goes a bit deeper than that now. We need MVP Yeli back for this offense to have any chance, and right now he's a shell of his former self.
  5. If this continues much longer, I think you have to start looking at Haines. I know it's a four game sample, but I'm having terrible flashbacks to last year's offense watching these games so far this year. Way too many K's, and at the most inopportune times. Keston and Yeli look absolutely befuddled at the plate.
  6. So, I just downloaded the NORD VPN for my PC. Will give it a shot tonight with the Brewers game. My subscription apparently includes a mobile APP/VPN for iOS. Has anyone used this? Can I safely download the NORD app for my phone and watch the games on my phone? I'd love to have that ability to watch on my apple phone, but wanted to see if anyone had done this?
  7. I'm going to selflishly bump this post. Offer still stands if someone is willing to work with me (and assuming that this type of an arrangement would work at all?). If it would work to log in to the FoxSports To Go app to watch the games, I would be more than happy to venmo/paypal someone $10 a month to access either a Spectrum/DirecTV UN/PW. I would only use this to watch the Brewers games this season, or until Sinclair and YTTV actually come to an agreement. If anyone is interested, I'd be happy to give me cell # here and we can work out arrangements offline.
  8. Was actually just coming here to suggest the same thing - a trade of Avi to the White Sox, now that they got the bad news today on Eloy. Boy, a move like this would make a lot of sense for both sides. I know we are trying to compete ourselves this year in the NL Central, but we'd still have a pretty solid OF situation with Yeli, Cain and JBJ as starters and Taylor/McKinney in the 4th and 5th spots. And, the White Sox would only be trading for an OF that has one year left on his deal - and one that could at least provide a bit of pop in that lineup to replace Eloy. I'm not sure what we could get from them in a deal for Avi, but I guess I would like to at least get one or two guys that would fall somewhere in their Top 30. Is getting a guy like Stiever or Sheets as the key piece coming back too much to ask?
  9. Here's what I don't understand about the MLB blackout policy: couldn't they just play all of the same commercials when you are watching it on MLB.TV, and somehow still count the # of eyeballs watching these games on MLB.TV (for ratings numbers). That way, the local RSN's are still getting their "numbers" and still getting their advertising out in front of potential local consumers. Why does it need to be blacked out in that scenario? Am I missing something here that's obvious?

  11. I like your roster guess here, but I too think that Taylor is going to start the season at AAA since he has options. I'd personally hope that they keep both Robertson and McKinney, as I would hate to see another team pick one of those guys up and watch them have success somewhere else. For some reason, I trust Robertson more than Arcia as our RH platoon at 3B - and I'm really intrigued by what we are seeing from McKinney this spring. I think we find a way to keep both of those guys on the opening day roster.
  12. Anyone that has a Spectrum TV subscription willing to share their username and password with me - IF you can access the Fox Sports Go App on either a device or through ROKU? I would be happy to venmo/paypal you $10 a month for access on a monthly basis. If it doesn't work out, you could just change your login info at the end of the month, and I'll shut off the $10 monthly payments. But, I would be good for the monthly payments if it helps get me access to Brewers games this spring/summer.
  13. A couple of things here: I suppose this means that Augie is out? He certainly wasn't the most polished guy on TV, but I guess I learned to like him as the past few years went on. Do we know if he got the axe, or is he just moving onto something else? Does any other franchise have this many people involved with their TV broadcasts? Wow, that seems like a lot of on-air personalities that they are mixing and mashing throughout the season. Also, interesting that Rock is now going to be taking some games off throughout the year. I might be in the minority here, but I wasn't overly impressed with Dillard when he did some guest appearances on the pre/post game shows a couple of years ago. I know he probably needs more time to get comfortable, but I just wonder if he's one of those guys that's a better social media personality than he is on-air TV personality? Hope he settles into this role without being too over the top.
  14. Looks like Pablo Reyes must still be on the juice!

  16. So, what makes starting around May 1 so much better than starting in April? Just to be a month further along with the vaccinations?

  18. Yeah, just came to post about this kid's video that was tweeted out today. What can those in the know tell us about Abner Uribe? Honestly, this is the first I've heard of the kid, but 99!

  20. I suppose that by YTTV working out this deal with MLBTV to integrate right into their streaming service, that means we are less and less likely to see them make a deal with Sinclair for the local FSWI? Is that safe to assume? What they are probably failing to realize (or simply don't care about) is the fact that nobody in WI can watch the Brewers on MLBTV since all of the games are blacked out.
  21. Is this even an option? Is there any way to trick MLBTV into thinking you are in a different location than you actually are? I guess I'm not tech savvy enough to know if this is a legit option. If it is, I'm all ears if someone can explain how to do it.
  22. I guess I just don't understand why Sinclair can't offer some type of streaming service of their own, and just charge a monthly rate for it. Does that model not work for them? That would at least allow people without cable to watch the games. It just annoys me that my Mother who lives out of state will be able to watch the Brewers this year (on MLB TV), but I won't be able to - living here in WI. And no, I'm not willing to go back to cable TV. Just incredibly frustrating.
  23. According to Attanasio's press conference yesterday, it sounds like he's just now going to "look into" the issues with the streaming services. Nothing like doing this after the negotiations have been completed. I don't have a lot of confidence that any of this will get resolved anytime soon, and that's really frustrating!
  24. Can these professional sports teams (i.e. Bucks and Brewers locally) not push Sinclair to get a deal done with the streaming services? I mean, they have to realize how many eyeballs they are missing out on by not having their games on these services, don't they? Also, isn't Dish currently not in agreement with Sinclair as well. So, are the only options the local cable company and DirecTV? How is this OK for any of these teams? It's got to impact the ad dollars they can secure if viewership of their games are way down due to lack of distribution on some of these streaming services, right?
  25. What have the Brewers been making on their TV deal in recent years? I'm guessing it's less than the 40M that the Marlins are about to sign? Also, I see that the Marlins are negotiating this with Sinclair, so not going out and doing their own thing. I sure hope that these MLB teams are urging Sinclair to work out deals with the streaming services, otherwise I just don't understand any of this (if nobody can actually watch the games)?
