  1. As disappointing as Thame's AB was what killed us last night was poor defense earlier in the game. You can't botch things like that and expect to beat a top team. Chicago showed us that the night before. We have to take care of a team like the Giants this weekend and let Chicago get beat up while they have to play every day.
  2. Egad, I didn't know it was this bad. My sister married a guy from Chicago who is a huge Cubs fan but he isn't like the boors who show up at MP. I wouldn't go to a game a MP under these circumstances either.
  3. This BIG TIME! How often do things happen during a game when the announcers and those in attendance have no clue what is going on with calls like this?
  4. This. As frustrating as it was, it was the correct call. He clearly pulled back and wasn't trying to make contact anymore. It appeared to me he was pulling back trying to avoid getting hit by the inside pitch and not necessarily not trying to make contact/bunt.
  5. Yes. Corey Unable is on the mound. Corey looked pretty good today. Of course he was under no pressure to perform...
  6. Jeffress can't pitch to a batter in the 8th? If he gives up a hit and the lead, then bring in the gang. Coulda sat Jeffress Sunday and he could in essence pitch in all the Cubs games. Jeffress could have pitched last night even tho he did the night before but not Hader? Is there a stamina question with Josh?
  7. Hader has had a couple of bad outings. It doesn’t take away from the fact that he’s one of the best relievers in baseball and a better option than Dan Jennings on his third consecutive (and 4/5) day of work. This all day long. Hey Counsell! We are in a WC chase. What are you saving Hader for? Halloween? /rant over
  8. And if Stearns does nothing some with grouse about that. It appears it is only one year. If it doesn't work out, C'est la vie. Sometimes a chance in scenery can do wonders.
  9. Why does it seem like whenever one of our pitchers leave a pitch somewhat up the opposition knocks the snot out of it and when they do that for us we either miss it or we hit into a double play??
  10. I've been on it lately. Aguilar is flat out lazy. He doesn't run hard anywhere. How can you tell? He is no speed demon...
  11. Well, at least the Cards lost last night...
  12. Yup. If you can't score it won't matter who is pitching. Our offense has been anemic since the ASB. The only good thing about last night is the Cards also lost...
  13. As long as it isn't 4 runs in the first...
  14. It will be considered a good move if Corey can work on things and return to form. AAA is where guys should go to work on their mechanics, not on the big club.
  15. I don't care if the Packers lose in the preseason. If you look at the guys who didn't dress it is a miracle the Pack scored 6 points...
  16. I'm a little surprised Yelich isn't in the top 3 baserunners.
  17. This has been an issue all season long. We have a devil of a time moving runners over and getting them across the plate.
