  1. This is how I feel. Mack was available, now potentially Brown. Not sure if they should get him, but this is the TYPE of move I'm looking for. However they do it, need to bring in a couple true impact players this year. I always worry about the prima donna WR, but truth is none of us knows any of these players beyond what we see in the media. Packers would need to do their due diligence to see if he would be a problem. That would start with "Are you ok not catching 150 passes every year?" Because they do have Adams, who would have to be on the same page with this move as well. I am still absolutely IRATE that we didn't force the Mack deal. If we had Mack we would have been playing in that playoff game, not the Bears. Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders were pretty darn good WRs when both were in their prime. I know Peyton was barely alive when they won it, so it's not really fair to discount their talent. It's an interesting point you make, but I don't think it necessarily has any correlation between winning SB's or not.
  2. I'm fairly certain Happ peaked as a player a couple years back...only way hed be any better than he is (a good player who is inexcusable from the line) is if you stuck the SR him with Koenig, Kaminsky etc.
  3. Kratz is fine in a day or two a week role. Don't ship Pina out for a bag of popcorn by any means, but if someone wants to pay he is FAR from untradeable.
  4. I'd take a possible world series over another good OF myself, but that's just me.
  5. A coach willing to take chances? Flacco is washed and has been for years. While I don't like Jackson much, he exceeded every expectation of almost anyone this year, not to mention probably saved Harbaughs job.
  6. If he rolls with Hornibrook he should fired with a capital F. Graham Mertz or even Coan cannot possibly fare any worse over the course of a season. Hornibrook has ruined enough seasons in Madison...move on.
  7. We can start a 2B thread anytime over trade threads...
  8. That is alot of money for a 34 year old bullpen guy.
  9. I am much less than impressed with the list of retreads and losing coaches being brought in so far. Nothing sounds better than having Chuck failed Pagano named coach.....sigh.
  10. They were playing 8 of their 22 normal starters today at the start and then went to one of if not the worst QB's in the NFL early. And what exactly was the excuse for what went on in New York last week? We can play this game all night...they are a terrible operation and need to make some large changes both in the operational ranks as well as on the field. Too many butts have been comfortable for too many years around Lombardi Ave.
  11. I think folks underestimate the level of dumpster the Packers are close to (or already in). This is how you show your frustrated fans out the door on your own turf....being blanked 31 donut by the freaking LIONS? There are deeper issues than talent on this team...quite frankly some of them just plain don't give a rip in addition to stinking. The Jets and Lions are B-A-D football teams. The inability to protect Aaron Rodgers up front has done this team in year after year. I'm sick and tired of hearing how hard a workers these guys on the OL are...Aaron is on a one way ticket to David Carr town via the sack. Bulaga is garbage and hurt constantly. There are no guards, Linsley is obviously average at best, and who knows if Bakhtiari is even as good as people claim he is. It's the same with the Vikings...the inability to have an OL that can be competent in the trenches ruins a football team. This team is garbage and it starts up in the front office. Hi Mark thats you. Hope Gutekunst has a long term plan because were done if he fails. And no, I am actually happy we lost because of draft position...it just irritates me to no end to see this garbage product on the field while we hear how "close" they are. IE- stop setting sky high standards if you're a 6-10 operation. We literally would be a yearly 3-13 team without Rodgers or worse.
  12. Nope. My buddy is a Pacer fan and still despises him till this very day for being a bum and acting like this.
  13. Strongly agree--from a branding perspective the NBA franchise is more valuable to the city than NHL ever would be, but it's true that the Bucks have never achieved the same level of popularity as the Packers and Brewers. To me it shows that cultivating a fanbase is a complicated process that evolves over decades. There are only so many entertainment dollars to go around and it's a tough time to compete with the Brewers. It's impossible to say how an NHL team would have fared but it's safe to say that co-existence with the NBA and MLB would have been tough. Given recent history I think we will see more relocation in coming years. There isn't any reason to keep a struggling franchise around when there are other cities begging for a team. Milwaukee is lucky that the Bucks will be around for awhile and this year's playoff run will draw far more interest than recent years and hopefully create some lasting momentum. Winning playoff series will sell out the 'Serv, just like winning playoff series created sellouts at Miller Park. You can see the boost starting in 2007 and it's maintained a higher level ever since.
  14. To sum this move up basically.... Nobody wants to spend money on a reliever. Nobody wants to give up prospects for a reliever. So Stearns uses a draft pick that probably won't end up panning out to add a reliever to the pen to increaase depth and versatility without spending a bunch of money and nobody likes that either. How is the team to get better? Folks should be happy that this is showing DS is literally looking at ANY option to improve the team and not like the GM's of other Wisconsin teams....cough TT who only drafted and cough Bucks GM's that only wanted to spend a bunch of money on mediocre talent.
  15. I don't get people's confidence in the Packers winning out. It's actually amazing to me. This is a team that lost to ARI at home and very nearly SF at home. Have they won 2 games in a row all year? I don't think they have. Even if they pull that off, I agree most of the other criteria is likely to happen, except for Minny losing two. Don't think that will happen. Cutting lead weights loose can do that. My optimism has been increased for sure, but I am not delusional.
  16. Sure must be nice to be an organization that just throws money at things to see what happens.
  17. I've heard opposing players are clowning on them, asking "Do you want fries with that? They do look like a bad take on McDonalds uniforms. As for Wilson, the least he could od is build up his body over the last couple years. He can shoot, and obviously has some athleticism. But that's about it. Horrible on defense and on the boards, and just sort of drifts around on offense. I was talking to my son about the Bucks last night, and he posed an interesting question. Middleton, Brogdon, Lopez, Bledsoe. Which one would hurt the most if lost for the season? Honestly, Middleton comes in last for me...maybe a toss-up between him and Brogdon. But sort of telling as far as the priority for signing these guys after the season. IMO 1) Brogdon's vesatility and grit, then 2) Bledsoe, 3) Lopez, 4) Middleton. Middleton is fantastic when engaged and playing well and is a huge boost, but it's not like we fall into the gutter when he's off like we did when we tried playing Jabari with Giannis. Somebody else can fill the void.
  18. What the hell was Brian Gutekunst, Mark Murphy, and whoever else thinking when they didn't pay the price for Khalil Mack and dumped a load into Jimmy Graham instead?
  19. Seriously, is this the best we can do in the offseason for catching help every year? I love Kratz as much as anyone, but let's be real here. And no, i'm not in panic mode, these garbage catcher signings are annoying though.
  20. I'm not a fan of G Hill as a player, extremely mediocre, but that being said that's one heck of a finaggle to get us almost 20 mil in cap space. Love it.
  21. John Wall for Middleton speculation gone wild on social media...ain't gonna happen but gets the juices going a little bit anyway.
  22. Marginally better than Chacin.....what? Chacin just had a career year and it doesn't even match up to a single year of Bumgarner's 9 full seasons.
