  1. I don't harbor ill will toward Scooter or anything, but i'm glad he's gone. I think his value is overstated by some and he's never going to be the difference maker a Kipnis/Cano/Altuve/Turner is. Villar's ceiling is much more likely to.
  2. That's good and all, but still why not allow him the full 8ish minutes at least? I don't get to watch much being in Minnesota now but when I see him I think he's actually ahead of where Giannis was as a rookie...that's a downright scary thought. Just as athletic except he has a jumper.
  3. Is there really a reason for Maker to play 4 minutes to start the game each night and then not see the floor again? This has to hurt the continuity of the starters a bit as well as him (not that it matters at this particular moment). If we're trying to get him experience shouldn't we be letting him run at least the first shift before riding the pine or something? Seems a bit pointless to me...I know it was tough for me to get in a groove in the few instances when I was put in for a couple minutes at a time.
  4. As someone who is paying about $1200/month ("normal" private school, not Harvard or anything, with no free rides from the parents) in the family for our two educations I am fairly offended when I hear people discount the value of those scholarships. That doesn't even cover the "perks" that come with fame...the grades, the women, the popularity, etc. Believe me these kids need no sympathy here, they live the life.
  5. If I were a GM i'd be running in the opposite direction of Lonzo Ball. That being said I think the Kentucky one and done's were fully vested (Fox and Monk) so it's more of a case by case basis.
  6. Baffling that one of the most athletic guys in the conference gets blocked by a kid that shoots granny free throws.
  7. That is precisely why people won't complain. Unlike the Badgers the Packers lose in embarrassing fashion. They were really bad there for a stretch tonight (IMO let the foot off the gas), but these kids never gave up and fought more this season than i've seen a team fight in a long time. This one hurts...all because of 4 seconds of terrible defense on an inbounds pass. This class will be one to remember for a long time. On a side note, PLEASE Gard and staff fix Ethan Happ's free throw shooting before next year...I will need to gouge my eyes out if I see that hideous 49% shot again.
  8. This is pathetic. Just get on the plane and go home now before they get run off the court.
  9. They were good against the run because everyone just destroyed our CBs lol. I recall Demarco Murray lighting us a new one, and Zeke, other than that i'm not sure we really faced much else as far as run games go. Pretty sure Howard got us once too.
  10. Is he though? All I read and hear is how he's the main reason they've turned the season around. And Brogdon to a lesser extent, but it's hard to ignore how the team changed when Parker went out and Mids came in. I know Bucks fans liked Middleton all along, but at least on my part I didn't appreciate what he really means to the system working. The Bucks are 3-1 on a 5 game west coast swing, and will finish it 4-1 if they beat the dumpy Kings tonight. I don't really recall that happening in many years. (?)
  11. You never know. It only takes a couple of cinderellas and it's anybody's trophy to win. UNC and Kentucky nearly went home, Nova/Duke did, etc.
  12. Famous last words of a reason to hoard. Lol
  13. Considering how we can't even recruit for the top HS players annually (who are leaving after one year), Wisconsin is absolutely an elite basketball program. Not in the top 4-5 programs, but they are definitely in the top 10. Look at the player development of a guy like Zac Showalter...walk on to a serious contributor as a starter. Bohannon, Wilkinson, etc. We are elite at maximizing talent. Watch now as everybody craps on them again next summer (everybody left, freshmen blah blah blah) and we will be right there again in Feb/March contending for the B1G. Happens every year. Khalil Iverson is a clone of Hayes but probably better.
  14. Can see maybe wearing a Marquette hat if a Badger fan or vice versa, or an AL team (not the yankees or red sox!), but NL teams seem off limits generally speaking to me.
  15. With Nova out don't want to get too far ahead but UVA / FLA doesn't scare me one bit (as far as having a game with a good chance of being competitive), so it could be Duke standing in the way of another final four.
  16. Lets go Sconnie!!
  17. How dare you utter that name in here. It's not saying Joe Johnson but still....
  18. Like magic Sparty and Izzo show up in a big way come tourney time. First time in years I didn't pick them in my bracket and I can see the writing on the wall for Kansas if these kids continue...wow.
  19. I like Jrue Holiday better than Hill, although i'd imagine the Pels will try to keep him now that they got Boogie. Can score or dish depending on what he's asked to do and is still in his mid 20s.
  20. GOOS opened in the $18s, now down to $16.40.
  21. Elite 8 Iowa St / Oregon N Carolina / UCLA Gonzaga / Arizona Wisconsin / Duke Final Four Duke / Gonzaga Oregon / N Carolina Final N Carolina wins over Gonzaga Big upsets - FGCU / Xavier / USC / Wichita St / Rhode Island / UNC-Wilmington I'm going out on a limb and hoping UW can beat VA Tech and scrape by Nova (Butler handled them twice by slowing the pace way down), then get UNC-Wilmington or a meh Florida in the sweet 16. I give it a 30/70 chance of happening, but we'll see. The other "upset" I think will be Minnesota beating the 98% who are picking E Tenn St. For as ballyhoo as they get for beating MSU last year on the best game of their lives they got ran off the floor the next game. Could be wrong, but its good R/R in a bracket scenario because E Tenn St won't go far anyway.
  22. Revis is done. Targeted him on a weekly basis for daily fantasy last year lol...the only other possibility is he did an epic mail-it-in job which i would do too if i had to play for that joke of an organization.
  23. Honestly I think UW has a decent first weekend opportunity. VA Tech is certainly beatable (please pound Buzz!), and Butler pretty much gave Nova the business twice by slowing the game down. They also had some pretty iffy games...by no means are they infallible. If we play good ball we'll be in the sweet 16 IMO.
  24. Bitcoin crashing this afternoon...SEC denied an ETF for it. I'd personally be careful playing around with "fake" (according to the governments) currencies until it becomes an authentic one.
  25. 2016 - Signed Jared Cook March 28 2015 - Signed nobody of note 2014 - Signed Julius Peppers March 18 Signed Letroy Guion March 18 2013 - Signed nobody of note 2012 - Signed Jeff Saturday, on his last legs. 2011 - Signed nobody of note 2010 - Signed nobody of note This is "all the damn time" ? The Patriots just did more than this one one freaking day. Nobody is asking for the NY Yankees here, we're asking for some semblance of CREATIViTY to try and fix problems. Nobody is going to call for Ted's head because he made a mistake on a mid range to slightly upper level FA here and there, they call for his head because he largely sits on a beach from March through the draft. Sure Peppers was a fun sign, and wouldn't you guess IT HELPED. Cook HELPED. Guion HELPED. Maybe you enjoy watching our defense get battered year after year but I don't. Find a trade with somebody for a system guy if FA isn't Ted's thing...can't tell me there aren't any underused players out there that would fit in our system on cheap deals. And on another note....the Cook talks have broken down, probably because Ted is offering a couch to sleep on and a million dollars while everyone else offers 8.
