  1. He's raw with a capital R, but i'm drooling after watching the highlights. That dude is like Giannis a few years ago but much faster.
  2. Thank god Giannis is signing an extension now (IF TRUE). That's the biggest and best news of the offseason for us.
  3. Except they have NO bench. They will get worked because of it...IMO if the Bucks could get an anchor down low like a Deandre Jordan they'd feast on em with the wingspan they have.
  4. I don't understand the desire to trade Will Smith, or even Jeffress for that matter. As relief pitchers at only 26 and 28, you could still very well include them on the next wave of Brewers, or at the very least they could very well be MORE valuable than they are now at that time. Elite bullpen help is hard to come by...I would really prefer we keep it together. I don't think either will be traded, and more likely signed to extensions. Thornburg, Smith, Jeffress, Barnes, and maybe Marinez I could see being attached to this team in a couple years. Traded Hill Garza (they'll find someone to give them a bag of stale donuts I think) Neuwenhuis Boyer No big trades, although I would not be opposed to seeing LuCroy go.
  5. I didn't like the deal on Dellavadova, but after seeing Jon Leuer get 4/42 (he's still in the league?!?!?!?) and Solomon Hill get 50 mil, I am 100% all for the 4/38 we gave him, and the 3/30 we gave to Teletovic too. Seems we stole both of them in my book.
  6. Either that or he is 2014-2015 Valeant Pharmaceuticals and we'll see continued growth or a total implosion of 90% of his value. I'd sell high here if there are any takers willing to give up somebody young with a semblance of potential.
  7. Wojnarowski says a 4/90 deal is "close."
  8. Must be a blue moon...CC left a pitcher in who was dealing instead of kicking him to the curb for the pen!
  9. I was screaming at the TV at the end before Deyonta in particular got picked...surprised you didn't hear me.
  10. Don't worry, we'll pull Guerra with 1ER, 6IP, 82 pitches again, and do the same with Davies on Thursday (again).
  11. Shot ourselves in the foot again...what else is new.
  12. Why are we pitching Nelson to Harper after he proceeds to load the bases via walks (2 outs), if there is an intention of pulling Nelson to PH at 90 pitches (with a no hitter) at the bottom of the same inning? I understand that we had a double, but Hernan Perez isn't exactly my idea of a "must get an at bat" guy. IMO you gotta ride that horse into the next inning if you make that choice, not bail out. It just irritates me a bit because Will Smith is sitting there in the pen for the L/LHP matchup against an elite batter, and CC opts to keep the struggling pitcher out there? He darn near gave up a grand slam to end the game because of it. Because of the situation this year it isn't a huge deal, but small things like this are going to hurt us down the road if they are not corrected/learned from. At least from my armchair viewpoint. I guess it irritates me because of late hes also pulled pitchers (Davies namely) who are on their game at 80-90 pitches too. It seems like there is little rhyme or reason to what's going on at times.
  13. To be fair to Sam, that sounds what people said about Giannis when we took him...turned out he was able to/good enough to get valuable playing time as the season wore on that undoubtedly accelerated his curve. Who knows, maybe we can get Maker 5-10 minutes a game, and then by the end 10-15. Being around this team helps more than the D League does in my mind....he'll learn how to be a pro.
  14. Because the difference between a 19 year old who hasn't played much basketball and a 23 year old who hasn't played much basketball is so big. Nothing I hate more than the "age" criticisms in cases like this. That said our 2nd rounders are absolute dog ****, Brogdon may never see a Bucks uniform and then you sell the 2nd one...Payton II was right there for the taking as a project PG.
  15. If we can get out of tomorrow night with Deyonta Davis, Payton II, and Hammons/Bentil (assuming we stay put) I would be extremely elated. I'm more intrigued by Payton than I am some of the lottery picks...he's precisely what we need at the very least as a backup PG. MOAR tuffniss! I'd like to see Monroe (and/or Henson) moved though. Get 3-4 good upside swings out of the draft and fill whatever need is created through FA. Pay Whiteside what he needs, if not take a stab on Noah and hope you can get a couple decent years out of him (and make sure we're protected behind him if he gets hurt). Jordan Clarkson if we want a guard with some upside.
  16. Yawn, why is it anytime there is a criticism it is viewed as bigotry or racism these days? It's clearly obvious that Briggs was trying to make a point (perhaps misworded) that these kids who are coming from poverty stricken countrie(s) are getting paid and don't know how to handle themselves. There's plenty of Americans that don't know how to handle money either, all the way up the ladder from the common folk to the government.
  17. I hope the anti Harvey people are solely basing their decision on money he'd demand in a couple years, because you're out of your minds otherwise to not think that would be a winning deal for us.
  18. Really starting to dislike Counsell...he seems to be three steps slow in what would appear to me to be obvious situations. Pulling starters that are dealing at 80-90 pitches, leaving starters in way too long that are not pitching well, loading the bases up by walking 2 guys to get to the third that is HOT, etc. There's been quite a few games now where his decision making *could* have been much better and *may* have prevented a few of these losses from happening. I know we're rebuilding and it doesn't matter, but it will matter in a couple of years if it isn't learned from.
  19. I'm getting tired of CC pulling the starter who's mowing hitters down at 80-90 pitches too. First we have a guy that thinks 100 is an automatic PULL THE GUY OUT, now we have a guy that is pulling them early. Gotta have a better feel for how the game is going than that.
  20. he's been dreadful...seen him a fair amount over here in twins territory. strikeout MACHINE.
  21. Well that sweep was a debbie downer. At least we only lost a game though.
  22. Garza's velocity ain't bad...still making life difficult for himself though. Pushing 60 pitches in the 3rd.
  23. Herb Kohl wrote this post or at the very least endorsed it with 100% enthusiasm. And where was the talent Herb Kohl led regimes drafted again? Marcus Haislip? My personal favorite was Joe Alexander. I would have to say the Brewers regime appears to have a bit more brains in the head than the Bucks-led regimes of the 2000's.
