  1. It's not so much that we didn't run out and get somebody in the first 12 hours...it's just that this organization is so predictable we all know there's a 98% chance there's nothing coming in the coming days or weeks either. It's a victory if we bring one of our own back, and in Perry's case he was one of 11 contributors to a poor defense himself. The freaking Patriots just won the Super Bowl. Did they sit on their hands? Did they rest on their laurels? Did they NEED to make moves, a couple of which are bold? Heck no they didn't. 1) Trade for Dwyane Allen, filling a NEED w/ Bennett likely gone 2) May trade Garoppolo for a haul, selling high 3) Signed Stephon Gilmore, upgrading a mediocre secondary 4) Resigned several of their own 5) Trying to trade for Brandin Cooks, upgrading a fairly mediocre WR corps. There's no excuse for this crap year after year with the playoff results we've seen...status quo and nobody is held accountable for it. They don't even try to bring folks in and see if they'd be a fit. Woop de doo Davon House...we didn't see the need to pay him last time so I don't see the point paying him this time.
  2. Status quo in Green Bay...business as usual. Nothing innovative, no attempts to get better, no coaches held accountable, no GM questioned on his drafting....so 10-6 and a 1st round exit is in store next year assuming Rodgers stays healthy.
  3. Maybe that means they'll do the right thing and cut Matthews. One can dream right?
  4. I'm no Kirk fan but getting worked up about a 1-16 start in spring training is the most absurd thing i've read all day.
  5. Most rewarding, and the most frustrating thing in existence. If you try it you will likely lose money to start, but get a strategy down that fits you (it's different for everyone) and stick to it. Mine is small cap biotechs. Obey max loss tolerance at all costs and bail when it's obvious to, don't "hope" for it to turn around. As long as you keep yourself in the game and don't blow up you will succeed and feel achievement you've never felt before. Oh...and don't fall for the "gurus" selling services. There are a few really good people out there that want to show you the way, but stay 100 miles away from anything that says "rich" and "fast," or "turned X into XXXX in a few months." It doesn't work that way out of the gate.
  6. I think we may be underestimating Khris Middleton...sure its only a few games but all is right in the world down there and we're blowing teams away since he started playing 25+ minutes......
  7. A stocks thread? Count me in! Don't know as much about real estate though, still trying not to pay through the nose on a first house let alone real estate investing. Brew, IPO's can be tough sledding from my experience but there are definitely gems out there that go overlooked. Biotechs can be sneaky good if one knows what they're looking for. Alot of the IPO's i've seemed to notice it often takes a year or two to work out the sellers / lockup expiry (the insiders can sell at X date) before they head upward though. Give POLA a look, been watching it for a bit now but haven't bought in yet...my account is pretty small so have to pick and choose what i'm in rather than a broad basket.
  8. Gennett's right now by far the best LH bench bat the Brewers have and he's a better hitter than Lawrie. Lawrie's OPS from 2012 to 2016: .729, .712, .722, .706, .723 Gennett's OPS since 2013: .834, .754, .675, .728 Beside he's a much better teammate and he's healthy and a bit younger. Replacing Gennett with Lawrie would be ludicrous. Lawrie pedigree?? Seriously? He hasn't had one full season as good as Gennett's best full year. What have you done for me lately? You might want to quit cherry picking a half season for Gennett that was his first year in the bigs because for all intensive purposes they are roughly the same player the past 3 years, except Lawrie strikes out a bit more and has a track record of being somewhat competent against opposite hand pitching. And IMO he's a better defender. And yes I know Scooter was better last year in a limited sample against LHP. http://i64.tinypic.com/2vbmpnt.png http://i64.tinypic.com/2vbmpnt.jpg
  9. Sure why not...if he likes employment his tune might change. I'd cut Gennett loose if nobody wants him in trade...i'll take mediocre with pedigree over mediocre and we know what he is...maybe you'll get lucky and hit a late blooming Carlos Gomez.
  10. Would've rather had them sign someone young from the D-League. Take a flyer, see if they can find the next Isiah Thomas. All Terrance Jones is going to do is give them 1-2 more wins this year which could very well be the difference between the 6th pick and the 10th pick in the draft. He's only 25...they probably cut him because there's no room with Unibrow and Cousins. I think he could/should be a viable bench piece should he work out here. Unlike white stiffs Delly/Teletubby Jones actually has some atheticism and can score the basketball at a good clip. His defense is suspect but who on this team isn't playing suspect defense? He'll fit right in.
  11. Another bad loss. Race to the bottom between these guys and the Badgers...what a disappointing year.
  12. Middleton looks OK from what little i've gotten to see, think he just needs time.
  13. There's a spot for Delly, but it is as a backup PG, not as a starting PG like we paid him for. Snell was just a turd for a turd trade (MCW), no big deal. There's actually a few FA guards this year (Holiday, Teague, Hill, Collison, Rose). Not saying I want a specific one although Holiday would probably be the preference, but at least there's a few options out there. Zero centers out there IIRC which I think is what we need most, maybe Monroe can finally get dealt. Forwards just like Blake (staying) and Ibaka, thank god Hammond will be gone or he'd run and put a dump truck load of money in front of Jeff Green or something.
  14. Does JKidd know he's on the team? I think Vaughn lets himself in once in awhile but not sure anybody's watching. Really ridiculous considering our lack of depth, either he's THAT bad or somebody's inept.
  15. So we need more of Snell and Dellavedova? Jennings is not better than either of those two and you take a rather big step back defensively replacing Dellavedova with Jennings. Jennings is a horrible defender while Dellavedova is actually average to above average defensively. Jennings just doesn't really add anything to the Bucks that they already have in Snell, Dellavedova, and Beasley. If Snell or Dellavedova weren't on the team then yeah I could see adding Jennings but why have 4 of the same players on the team it just doesn't make much sense. The team needs warm bodies. I don't like Jennings much but Giannis can't do it all as we saw tonight. Jennings could add a little more of a punch off the bench that we're sorely lacking in. Now Beasley is hurt and who knows how long he'll be out.
  16. The Bucks already have Beasley jacking up bad shots they don't need another in Jennings. Tough for beggars to be choosers at this point of the year...I think i'd rather have Jennings jacking up bad shots and making 40% of them than watch Dellavadova and Snell do absolutely nothing night after night. It takes real talent to put up a stat sheet donut in 28 minutes like Snell did the other night.
  17. Anyone in for a Brandon Jennings reunion? We need guard depth in the worst of ways...
  18. His inability to make a FT arguably cost them the game.
  19. I'm not big on these "social issues" and such, but I hope Hidden Figures wins a bunch of stuff. What a fantastic movie (and fantastic acting).
  20. Badgers suck. What a disappointment from these core guys Koenig, Hayes, Brown etc that have seen a NCAA title game. Pathetic.
  21. I just find it extremely hard to believe there hasn't been ANYBODY out there interested in Greg Monroe. I don't get the whole situation with him...either accept that hes weak on D and use him or move on. This bench player business for half the year is ridiculous. Don't pay the man if you didn't have the intention of starting him.
  22. Deron would work (for now) if he could stay healthy for the rest of the year. We all know how that works though with him...
  23. Ted's gonna take a DL....you can take that to the bank. Probably a Pac 12 one who we aren't sure can play a 3-4 defense.
  24. Giving Beasley "something" is smarter than giving Plumlee or Teletovic big money. Sure Beasley may well flop but you at least know the talent is in there somewhere if he chooses to use it...the latter two were big white stiffs, one can shoot a 3.
  25. I highly doubt that he views himself that way, even if maybe it would be the best role for him. So much rides on how he recovers from a second torn ACL in the same knee. That basically ended Michael Redd's effectiveness and a huge part of what makes Parker a great talent on offense is his explosiveness for a guy his size. With all due respect Michael Redd was almost a decade ago on the first knee, and quite awhile ago yet on the second time. We've seen some significant medical advances recently, look at these guys coming back in a year or less rather than 1.5-2 years. I'm not the biggest Jabari fan, would have rather found a way to get Wiggins, but I'm not ready to throw in the towel here yet on him.
