  1. 1) Please. Sign. One. Or. Two. Competent. Left. Handed. Bats. 2) Please. Teach. Fundamental. Hitting. To. Complement. Long. Balls. 3) Please. Stop. With. The. Stupid. Ignorant. Running. Errors. On. The. Basepaths. How much does this cost? If it fits in the payroll we will be in the playoffs next season.
  2. I don't understand the overreaction and hatred people on this site have towards K-Rod. He's one of the all-time greats, and a competent closer who has done alot for the franchise over the last several years...he even netted us a draft pick (Delmonico) in a trade. Is he 2005 K-Rod? No he isn't anymore, and he has his moments. But in the end he can get the job done for us the majority of the time....sorry but you aren't going to get anything better in FA. Don't give me that Henderson crap either, he is a career minor leaguer and will always be that way.
  3. My mom said they got between 1 and 2 inches of snow this weekend in northern Wisconsin...here we go boys and girls.
  4. 23 errors, 43 double plays this year, but a dWAR comperable to Adrian Beltre in his gold glove years (2.7). Carrying an overall WAR between 7 and 8 his first 2 full seasons.
  5. Oh hell yes. Donaldson is one of the best lefty mashers in the league and is absolutely spectacular on defense. You get him out of that hellhole in Oakland and he could put up MVP caliber numbers. He did regress a bit this year from last, but still hit 30 bombs.
  6. Sure wish we played small ball right about now. These pesky Royals have resolve, that's for sure.
  7. Was that Roenicke out there managing? Oh wait, that was just Yost. Pull your ace for a starter you need the next round to get out of a jam...absolutely brilliant. Not that the unhittable bullpen you've had all year is an option of course. Goodbye Royals.
  8. Marshall always had upside, way back to his UNC days. I bet JKidd takes him under his wing, and he ends up being a DECENT point guard for us. Also lets Knight be what he wants to be...a shooter. PG-Marshall SG-Knight SF-Giannis PF-Jabari C-Sanders If Marshall doesnt pan out then I think it'll be Knight at PG and then slide everyone else up and start Ersan. All depends on the matchup on a given night. Ready or not I think there's no excuse for Parker and Giannis not playing 30 minutes a night from the get go...we aren't winning championships this year so let the kids play the minutes. In an ideal world that said core of 5 needs to learn to play and mature TOGETHER. They are all young and have plenty of time to learn and gain experience (succeed and screw up).
  9. I would think Gardy would try to bring his guys along with. Unfortunately that might mean Rick Anderson too...lol.
  10. For what its worth, the Twins were 6th in the league in runs scored, 5th in OBP, and 9th in OPS. This was despite a crash by their best player Mauer and a dearth of talent across the diamond. The Brewers on the other hand with vastly superior on paper talent finished 15th in runs scored, 19th in OBP, and 11th in OPS. Pitching is what does Gardenhire in, not his philosophy. Our pitching saved us from a horrible year.
  11. Uh, haven't you seen enough of a fundamental-less team? In case you missed the past two months, it's why were sitting at home this postseason. I'd love Gardy in Milwaukee.
  12. Mike Morse would be a valuable commodity to us...we'd be able to swap him between the OF and 1B, allowing us to trade Gomez. I wouldn't mind buying low on Justin Masterson either as a sort of reclamation project and see if we can get him back to his old self. We need more ground ball pitchers, his upside is a midlevel starter worst case bullpen. Not pay too much though, he's not worth it.
  13. For God sake, please noooooooo. I'll take Dusty before that guy. Why not try and steal Paul Molitor off the Twins? You know he's going to get a shot pretty soon at managing a team...he would be a change of pace for us too, maybe his small ball abilities would transfer into our players.
  14. But that is what DM is doing...we drafted high ceiling talent this year which was a change of strategy. While we wait the 3-4 years for these guys to make their way up to the roster we are going to sign guys and whatever else to field a competitive team. When this cycle of Brewers is starting to get old and/or leave, the new talent will be breaking into the majors (hopefully). There's more than one way to skin a cat, and MA chooses to field a competitive team whenever possible while we wait for the Harrisons, Taylors, Medeiros's, etc to get experience. I don't see a reason to blow up the roster if we keep older guys signed to 2-3 year deals. It's the 5-6 year deals that get us into trouble.
  15. MA seems pretty pissed. I bet RR doesn't make it back next year...seems also like we will be acquiring some new names this offseason (and disposing of a few others).
  16. Wow, I don't even know where to begin. "People don't gravitate towards cities, that's why the majority of them are decrepid dumps." .... what? you think people are leaving NYC, LA, Chicago, Houston, Dallas, San Antonio, Boston, Miami, etc etc? Just because Detroit is a mess doesn't mean all other big cities in the country are "decrepid dumps" Big bad downtown Milwaukee scares you too much to go to it? Arenas help revitalize a city, not just by an NBA team, but all of the other types of events that an arena like that can attract, or should try to attract. On non-game nights, they have to do a good job of bringing in concerts and other types of events (Globetrotters, wrestling, rodeos, etc) that can sell out the arena. When you have all sorts of different people coming to the arena for basketball, concerts, and what ever other events they can attract, those people will go out to bars, go out to eat, need places to stay, etc which help build up the area around the arena. Yeah the parking prices are a real pain, but get creative and find a cheaper/alternative way to park and get to the game/event. Thank you for reminding me why I moved away from Wisconsin. Nice try at the thinly veiled jab at Wisconsin residents. Too bad I don't even live in Wisconsin. LOL. Back to the Bucks. Where do families live? They don't live in downtown Milwaukee, they live in the suburbs. Thus, it is much more convenient for Mom and Dad to take their children to a suburban arena like Miller Park/new BC than to load them up and take them into the city, where games frequently end at 10-11pm at night. It doesn't scare me, but many parents in the back of their mind are thinking about safety that time of night. We do want these kinds of people as the backbone of our team...don't we? I know when I go to a Timberwolves game I'm watching my back when I get out of there. Which is why I proposed a "town" being built around Miller Park/new BC. Something innovative and revolutionary. I've seen others write about it in the past, so I am not the only one. We wanted Attanasio to get involved with the Bucks...well lets get on it. Edens and Lasry should call him up and see if he is interested in constructing this "idea" of a sports town and making it become a reality. Build a hotel, build restaurants, a mall etc. Make it our own unique little town that is self sustaining. Sure as hell is more appealing to the taxpayers than asking for "MOAR MONEY FOR THE CITY."
  17. I don't live in Milwaukee and never will, so take this with a grain of salt but I think putting it near Miller Park and creating a sort of "town" around it is where it should go...there are vacant lots there. I don't want anything to do with downtown Milwaukee on the rare occasion I DO go there, I can't be the only person that feels that way. Sure...in comes the people saying it would "revitalize" the city. Oh really? All of those people that love the Milwaukee Bucks but are just waiting for a new arena are going to revitalize it? People don't gravitate towards cities, that's why the majority of them are decrepid dumps. Furthermore, why should we build it downtown and then let some parking lot owner charge 20 bucks for parking? Build it out by Miller Park and let the Bucks charge the 20 bucks and keep it for themselves. It's silly.
  18. I guess I knew it, but never really paid attention until this morning. It's time to start cheering for the Royals this postseason... since 1/3 of the starters last played with us and also the manager. SS - Alcides Escobar (Brewers 2008-2010, Traded to KC for Zack Greinke) OF - Lorenzo Cain (Prospect & Player for Brewers 2010, Traded to KC for Zack Greinke) OF - Nori Aoki (Brewers 2012-2013, traded to KC in 2014) Manager - Ned Yost (Brewers manager 2003-2008, went to KC after we parted)
  19. Lohse and Gallardo are going nowhere...wish people would stop throwing that line out there. I want Gallardo to go somewhere, but it's unrealistic. Thinking in the mind of DM, we will eye Headley and sign James Shields, who is a good pitcher on the tail end of his prime (like Lohse, Looper, Suppan, Wolf).
  20. Just another day for Jimmy Nelson....what a pile of garbage.
  21. Soooooooooooooo tired of hearing about Braun's contract. Enough of the "overpaid" already.
  22. Our pitching staff needs a raise...if it isn't 1-0 we aren't winning a game, yet they keep answering the call.
  23. It's too bad we're chasing because save for a couple stoopids we have really had some awesome games the past couple weeks.
  24. I guess the Matt Clark fun lasted a long time...back to the 62 year old Lyle Overbay at 1st.
