  1. Davies is a 150 lb pitcher. After the Astros trade, Melvin is playing with house money now. He should hold out for Sisco or look at other teams. I'd rather have the supplemental pick than Davies.
  2. Agreed. These 3 guys were a joy to have on the Brewers. They were fun to watch.
  3. Phillips was ranked 39 and Santana 87 on the last MLB pipeline rankings I saw. http://m.mlb.com/prospects/2015?list=prospects
  4. They're not. Biloxi is their destination. Great. Thanks for the update. Seemed like odd assignments.
  5. I wish they weren't sending those pitchers to Colorado Springs.
  6. So Phillips becomes our 2 after Arcia I assume.
  7. I like this deal a lot. So what of Parra? Trade him as well? Phillips to CF?
  8. Oh baby. Prospects. This should be good!
  9. Soria to Pirates?
  10. And where is it that shows the Brewers were offered Kaminsky? I didnt see anything, but if he was offered for Moss, I can't imagine that same asset wouldn't be on the table for Lind?
  11. Parra will be traded by tomorrow. Everything suggests he will be gone by tomorrow with plenty of suitors, as most everyone needs a bat. Cotts should be gone as well. I have a feeling Lind isnt going anywhere. If Kaminsky didnt get them to do something, Im not sure what would. KRod is a little more tricky to trade. The key here is Gomez and what teams think of the Mets "concerns".
  12. Even if the worst case scenario is that Gomez is untradeable now, Parra, Lind, Cotts, KRod are still guys who can easily be moved.
  13. Adam Rubin ‏@AdamRubinESPN 2m2 minutes ago When it rains it pours: Lefty Jack Leathersich underwent Tommy John surgery today. More extensive details coming to blog shortly. #mets
  14. I guess technically they are. This puts the market for Parra and Gomez in a strong light though. This also takes Shark off the market, improving Fiers
  15. White Sox aggressively pursuing a bat? Why?
  16. NYY and Baltimore will need to step up
  17. This is great news for us. Since we are in the market for high ceiling injured pitchers, I wonder if Baltimore has something for us to counter Toronto?
  18. Im sure a half dozen GM's are texting Melvin to laugh about their experiences with the Mets and are kindly offering to take Gomez off our hands as we type.
  19. Gomez for Zimmer, Kaminsky and Carasco.
  20. Yeah, they wanted the Brewers to eat some of Gomez's contract and/or take Lagares back (who's owed some $$) instead of Flores. That's probably where the rumors of Melvin wanting one of the "Big Four" came from, I would guess. Melvin said the MRI the Mets looked at weren't even up of his hip. So ultimately they realized what their budget for OF was going to look like in '16 and pulled some crap about having a medical issue. Which is a crappy way to get out of an agreed-upon deal, but also it poisons the perceived value of Gomez. I have a feeling the Mets are widely known as buffoons so we should be ok. Call the Indians and get Kaminsky and Carrasco and one of their prized OF's and move on.
  21. Tom ‏@Haudricourt 55s55 seconds ago The more details I get on nixed Gomez trade, the more it sounds as if it became more financial matter than medical matter. Anyone surprised?
  22. Joel Sherman's tweets say Melvin confirms it was the Mets that backed out. Says there is nothing wrong with his hip but Mets were cautious due to money. Melvin said #Brewers will "regroup" tmrw to see if they can find another trade for Gomez, or decide to just keep him
  23. There are still two days left and unless Gomez is REALLY hurt (and he hasnt missed a game since late June), they pretty much need to trade him at some point. The good news is if Moss can bring back an arm like Kaminsky, the price for Lind and especially Parra just went up.
