  1. This is a big win for Milwaukee, no doubt. Id love to see Lucroy get cleared and the Brewers do the same thing with him.
  2. Id shut down Jungmann too. He has shown plenty and he seems to be out of gas. Id hate to see him develop some bad habits to end the year. It doesnt matter who we start going forward to fill his spot to end the year. September results tend to be very misleading anyhow.
  3. Braun. The good news just keeps coming with this guy.
  4. A team with a maxed out revenue stream looking to trade away a 800 ops guy with cheap years of control for anything other than a game changing trade is insane. If Davis can bring back a top flight pitching or 3B prospect fine, but other than that, I cant see why the Brewers would be in a rush to dump him. To replace his production in FA would cost a fortune.
  5. Its quite a statement when you can feel great about a trade when we gave up a guy who threw a no hitter.
  6. This guys seems like he will be a big pitch count guy too. Im impressed with him so far.
  7. The no hitter of course is icing on the cake on what has been a very bad year for the Brewers. However, it doesn't change that the Brewers are trading for young assets and Fiers brings more than Garza, so as they say it was what it was. The early returns suggest the Brewers will have the much better end of the this trade as all 4 look very promising.
  8. Santana already with as many HRs as Gomez has for Houston. On the other hand....Fiers is having a very good game.
  9. Looks like the plan is a Davis/Santana/Braun All three are hot now. That's an interesting OF.
  10. This guys reminds a lot of Chris Sale. A tall order but the stats and the arm angle suggests this isn't far off. And of course since I watch these things, Gomez is at 516 OPS so far. I love the guy, but this has the makings of a game changing trade for us.
  11. The way pricing seems to be going, the days of the subsidized phones seems to be going away (which is good), so people will keep their phones longer. So a case is a worthwhile "investment".
  12. The Otterbox is the only way to go. You will never have a cracked screen and its worth the extra bulk. I found Lifeproof is bad for sound quality.
  13. Thats true, but in a way thats how it is for every franchise. FA is great for the players, but not necessarily great for the game and the fans. Its very rare to have a 15 year star player year after year, which is what fans want to see. The game has evolved, and older guys like me will just need to adjust.
  14. Braun breaking the Brewer HR record (251? really?) felt about as historic to me as Bonds breaking Aaron's record.
  15. Either he can play the game of baseball at a high level or he can't. That goes for the 5 tools as well as his mental makeup. The TEAM goes on with out without a player regardless of the off the field issues. I am concerned about the Milwaukee Brewers developing quality MLB talent. I am NOT concerned with starting a charity for players that want to make a public statement that doesnt have to do with the game of baseball. The reality is that Denson on the field is the same a Michael Sam in that he is a non prospect at this point. He will be cut and the Brewers will be looked upon as a homophobic organization that "doesn't get it." This is a distraction that the team doesn't need.
  16. I'd sure hope so. That is a subject that has nothing to do with baseball (and darn near anything else) and I hope it stays that way. I couldn't care less about his personal orientation, but to make it a distraction on a teams development is something we don't need and is quite frankly selfish. These are young kids and the the task of becoming a major league player is difficult enough without adding non-baseball distractions. Quite frankly if it's so distracting to the other players that their play suffers then they probably lack the mental fortitude to make it in the big leagues anyway. Isnt the reason Denson stated for making his orientation public in the first place was depression/mental fortitude issues himself? He was hitting .195 at low A before his demotion. Sounds like he should be focusing a whole lot more on hitting and a whole lot less on his off the field issues.

  18. I know Im in the minority, but Id prefer he focus on playing baseball. Michael Sam made himself into something bigger than the game and ultimately, he couldn't handle what he brought on himself. Im also sure his teammates and coaches couldn't have enjoyed all the extra questioning. His orientation is nobody's business, and he is paid to work on becoming a prospect.
  19. They could easily trade him now. Any starter than can go 7 with 2 ER vs a playoff hitting line up with a contract that is not horrible will have potential playoff teams calling who ever is in charge now.
  20. The Royals this year are interesting as they have used mediocre starters to go with an awesome defense and bullpen. Interesting. That's the cheap way to build a team. Hmmmmmm.
  21. I agree here. He is very much in his prime years and he is playing like he is winding down. PEDs have to be part of the reason. PEDs do give the players strength. These guys have put up better stats than 95% of baseball history. Tough to ignore.
  22. You're buying into Braun's version of the timeline and when he "stopped" taking any kind of PEDS. Im not. We will not agree on this; you have as much chance of convincing me of the thumb being a career altering injury as you do of convincing me that Jay Culter is as good as Aaron. Im sure the reverse is true with you as well. Again, it really doesn't matter, the result is the same. He is a not a 990 guy anymore.
  23. Has this injury ever occurred before? We all understand how a thumb is important to hitting and how its vulnerable. But, there have been over 18K major league players and I have never heard of a career long issue of this type. The occasional break sure, but nothing like this. If Im wrong, show me. It walks like a duck and quacks like a duck. Offense is magically down around baseball right after MLB finally starting handing out big suspensions and taking PEDS more seriously. Braun is down 150 points even with what is pretty cutting edge treatment. Do the math. Occam's razor. We will have to agree to disagree about the reason behind Braun's drop in performance now three years running. Ultimately, it doesn't matter. The Braun of the 990 HOF first ballet stuff is long gone. He's just a Good Player now. I feel for comedic reasons, I have to throw in a guy who just maybe proves that something can help a player hit for power. Again, this is one for the laughs, but look at this state card. Any power season jump out at you? http://www.baseball-reference.com/players/e/ellsbja01.shtml
