    Luc to Mets for TDA and Nimmo but to get two guys like that of course we had to throw in Smith, Junior, and Phillips. It would only be fair. Ok I feel better. We will get a good deal. The Mets were trolling us.

    Lol. I know you're trying to add levity and I appreciate it. Look what Melvin got for Gomez and Fiers. To come away with TdA and Nimmo? No. No way is this happening.

    Agreed. TdA and Nimmo are throw ins on a trade of Lucs caliber. And to not pick up impact pitching would be criminal. It hasn't happened yet..........

    Why think so little of Stearns? Not to derail the thread (or maybe to derail it...need a distraction!), but it's not like he's made any awful moves to this point. If anything I can understand not being sure about him yet, but to already think he's no good? I know he's still got the new car smell here and I get that. But if you look at what he has actually done, it's really not much at best, and flat out selling low at worst. He really did get nothing for KRod, Davis, and if you're being honest about Segura this season, he sold very low on him. Relievers and power hitters and going for a ton and he didn't get anything of value. He made a very nice trade for Villar though. The rest are churning moves. Luc is legitimate best chip out there except for Sale. Let's see how he plays this hand. This mets disaster is just a rumor so of course we will wait and see what really happens.

    I can't figure out why he would even want TdA or Nimmo? You'd be trading an elite starter under a cheap contract for two guys that are replacement talents?

    As little as I think of Stearns, no way does he trade Luc for TdA and Nimmo. That would be as incompetent a trade as one could make. He isn't that stupid. No way.

    He is an anomaly. He has a cough past cough. Trade him for a top 100 and don't look back.

    Way more. Stearns sold way way way low on Davis. Simply put Nottingham isn't going to be a good catcher if he stays there at all and his bat isn't MLB 1st base caliber. Actually if you look at Segura in over 400 pa, he sold low on him too. Ditto KRod. Back to CF, we really don't have one on the roster until we get down to Phillips. Everyone else is at best a stop gap.

    Well if we can land is a top 100 we need to do this deal. I'm always skeptical of guys who find this level of success at 31. Cough cough. So we need to leverage this while we can.

    I need to point out Gallo wasn't blocked, they chose to block him when they signed Betlre to an extension. I'd take Gallo but not as the headliner because he can easily be a bust.

    It's going to be a very interesting weekend. Junior has been under the radar as a trade chip but he is at the point where it would make a ton is sense to sell high on him.

    I'm guessing it's Profar and Gallo plus for Luc, Junior, and one of our relievers. Apparently the Rangers were scouting Junior tonight?

    I agree 100%. This is professional baseball. All are professionals from the grounds crew, to the umps, and to the front office. You act as a professional at this level. Not some kid playing fantasy baseball or some video game. The same pros that don't bring up their best players so they can skip over a year of control? It's a business and Luc is our best trade asset by a ton.

    I wonder why Carter isn't so much better? He has such an easy effortless swing. He doesn't have that swing of a guy that strikes out so often.

    Zero interest in Puig. Luc is the 2nd best catcher in a game with 1.5 years of team control being traded in a huge sellers market. We need to get a huge payday.

    Well in this hyper sellers market for relievers, especially closers, we need to be honest that we sold way low on KRod.

    We just are not a smart team top to bottom. We just do things like this constantly on the field and off. I'm hoping the Luc trade is that game changer we as fans all need.

    Especially seeing Braun go from possible trade chip to day to day. It can happen anytime and there is zero upside to playing him. His value won't get higher and the W/L record doesnt matter
