  1. Yea should've just went as hard down the line as he could
  2. I went from thinking Rodgers was dumb not to run for the 1st and go to half to happy real quickly
  3. Yea they were rolling before the Lewis fumble messed it all up. In a battle now but should be ok. O definitely has to do better than this
  4. That big contract hurts badly with our current situation. I can't imagine they would have made him the highest paid lineman in NFL history if they knew how well we'd get by without him. Now that's a thought I've had. The Packers in general have been remarkable at churning out OL, so paying one at all that kind of money shocked me. Maybe they saw real value in LT for the next guy, thinking Rodgers's clock was ticking. Yup, that's what I was getting at. I really wonder if they'd have paid him if not for Rodgers situation. Long history of letting OL go and being correct in doing it. And the one time they don't, this happens right after.
  5. Yea well said OSS. That all makes sense and I'd agree. Mine probably sounded worse than I meant, by next sept I'm sure he'll be fine. I was more getting into that even if he is fine, he's now an aging player on a torn ACL on a big contract aspects moreso than if he'll ever play well or near his old level again.
  6. Heck of a game. Good for Cinncy and Burrow, rooting for that dude. How dumb was Urban Meyer to not realize what he had there, should've been the ultimate indictment to block him ever getting an NFL job.
  7. Agree. I'll still be optimistic as possible. But they got really unlucky with the timing of giving that contract and then this happening. With him being best buds with Rodgers and all the drama with Rodgers, they had to pay him. I know he's a tier above and is LT as opposed to the myriad of other OL they've rightfully let go rather than pay over the years, but you wonder if they'd done the same with him if not for knowing they had to keep Rodgers happy.
  8. Yea I always prefer to get the ball 2H for the chance at double score, especially with an elite QB. Nice find on that Belichick video, I think there's a few things like that for him over the years. He's hands down the best coach ever. Fairly confident in this and think they'll generally be in control most of the game. Hopefully don't have one of those games where they're ahead and then can't quite close it and next thing you know you have drama at the end. Like your Browns type game this year and a few others around that same timeframe. I'll go with 27-13 GB
  9. Yea and I believe that's how it was done until a couple years ago until they added another D coach. I might be confusing a bit with DBs though. Could easily be the route they go with it. Jimmy has to roll his eyes a bit at all the resources and money put into the O side of the ball while they keep being mediocre, meanwhile he keeps dominating on D with less. But, that's the nature of football these days. Good catch by the other poster with Orr. That makes a ton of sense.
  10. As expect, glad they did it. They've opened up an OC spot on the website. But I'm curious what actually happens. If they hire a separate OC they'll be taking a coach from the D. So it's basically a choice of just call PC the OC and hire another LB coach. Or hire an OC and leave the D a coach short. Unless, I'm unaware of a rule change allowing one more coach or something.
  11. I was skeptical throwing Bakh into the fire with next to no reps, when generally the other guys have been doing so well. I'm still worried about DLs like STL/TB/Bosa since that's ultimately what killed them last year. But overall the OL has been great all year, so the desperation shouldn't be there. But maybe having him there as the depth/backup is still a positive over what else they have. I guess I'm just saying you don't have to start him and play him every drive. But maybe he's there as the emergency or if someone else goes down for a series or two, or maybe he has to finish the game if someone goes down. If all goes well he doesn't need to play at all. ETA: with the bye before SB. If they can win these two games in a way like I said above, he'll get two weeks off before SB and basically another full month to get right. Essentially he'd have been off from Jan 2-Feb 13 if he doesn't play or barely plays these two games. Get all juiced up for the SB and then you have 6 months to recover and get ready for next year.
  12. Yea Moss while having attitude issues really didn't have any major legal things compared to others here. I'd also add that I generally find Moss decent at the job and one of the few people I don't mind listening to if I happen to flip to it(I assume he's still on ESPN/MNF but IDK). But the real takeaway of all this is what is the need for 5-8 people blathering on multiple networks at once, generally just don't watch the stuff and I'd guess most informed sports fans on a site like this know almost as much as these jabronis and don't need someone telling them what to think. I rarely watch any of it, pretty much never on a Sunday morning. I only came across that Irving still had a job like this during either the Thanksgiving or Christmas games on NFL network so it would go to him at half or after the game. Couldn't believe he was still being paid to this. Would've thought the live broadcast coke bender on ESPN for a Miami game 3-4 years would have been it, but nope.
  13. I've thought the same on Michael Irving. Plus, besides all his issues he's just really bad at the job.
  14. I used it because they won 11 games this year, thus 10+. I wasn't referring to the year before. As someone said, only one team can win once in the playoffs. They won 11 games without him and Hopkins for the second half of the year. Flip our game with them on that crazy play and Hopkins is healthy the talking points on AZ could be drastically different right now. He didn't go to a crap team, he was thinking that AZ was gonna be good this year and they were good. So to me it wasn't just taking the most money like if he'd picked a Det/Bears/Giants etc type team so I thought the phrasing went too far.
  15. I wouldn't go that far, he went to a team that won 10+ games so he was right that they could win. He didn't go somewhere like Detroit for a few extra mill, which is where a phrasing like you had would come in. Plus, if he and Hopkins don't get hurt AZs season could've ended much differently.
  16. On that topic is kind of why I was really surprised the players didn't negotiate an extra bye week in return for that extra game that was added. I thought it would be a win win for everyone involved. Extra game is more money for all involved, players get an extra week off (maybe an expert could figure a way to time the extra week off in a way to reduce the short rest Thurs games), more money for all gained by an extra week of prime time games to sell. Obviusly just a guess but from a pure football standpoint I think players might prefer 17 games spread over 19 weeks over 16 games in 17 like before. Only issue is SB getting pushed back another week so it's getting to late Feb at that point, but in the grand scheme what's one more week.
  17. Fine with patches and small things like on NBA jerseys. Heck even a bit more I wouldn't mind. But one thing I've always not understood or turned me off on his europeon soccer jerseys that legit are just the sponsors name across the chest in the center. Like a Messi jersey says Rakuten across the chest rather than "Real Madrid" or whoever he plays for. Don't want it to look like a Nascar car but normal traditional team stuff across the chest but throw a few logos on sleeves, shoulder, collar area, etc it won't bother me. Just think most have a Nike or UA type logo on them and we don't even notice. What's the big deal on one or two others.
  18. Vibes to me are so positive that I'd guess he's back unless a terrible showing in game 1 to lose, or losing NFC title game in a beatdown fashion. Winning or close losses in the final four or SB I think he comes back. Really don't see where else he could go to have a better chance of winning and it really does seems to like his teammates and coaches like LaFleur. But who knows, just a guess.
  19. Yea that was a lesson learned from the FL Sweet 16 a few years ago when Nigel didn't miss in the same situation and it cost them the game. Heck of a week for UW, should fly up the rankings tomorrow and sets up a huge game vs OSU on Thurs. Also, I hope everyone noticed the Maryland PG with about 13 mins left flailing both legs out on a 3 pt attempt and there is an adequate outcry for the next 3 days on twitter about it.
  20. That weird call in the beginning of the game on Wahl (?) where he was called for a flop? There was no flop and not as bad as flops later in the game. Geesch! And then a bit later in the game a UW backup G was called for a charge under the hoop on a blatant flop. In this game alone: Davison was horse collared and thrown to the ground, Bohannan clocked Davis in the back of the head in frustration after a foul, backup big guy elbow smashed our guy in the face in garbage time. Last game Purdue #50 big guy basically attacked Vogt twice with dirty plays on blockouts. Yet, the big discussion is Davison on a weird fadeway type shot (and Davison often has feet go out on shots like this even when open) where he was also hit on the hand and side getting his feet tangled up making him out to be some awful person. It's all overblown because he's a target. I even saw people trying to blame him for Murray taking the big fall when he blocked Davison's layup drive. Haha what a perfect tweet by Flood. I hadn't seen that yet.
  21. I’ve watched the whole game and honestly have no clue what your talking about? I haven’t seen anything close to being disrespectful. Are you saying his leg coming out on a 3 means he’s not a respectable player, or did I completely miss something? Clearly you were out of the room before half when he had to stick his foot out a couple feet to draw some lame foul before half on a three pointer. Nice throwback to his flop artist days. I honestly thought he elevated his game enough this year where he wouldn’t feel desperate to pull lame stuff like that just to try and score like his early days when his offense really wasn’t there. Seems like your searching for reasons to not like the guy. That play wasn’t that bad. ----- Had two fadeaways in the 2H that had similar leg motions, faders can get off especially when you get flustered when a big dude surprises you right in your face. With him, folks make a big deal about it due to his history. At this point he's on the short end of the stick on all this stuff and the refs whistles. He basically has to get trucked to draw a charge now. He definitely caught a break there though, in spite of the logical explanation by the refs on it.
  22. Did you catch when a mccaffrey horse collared him and threw him down earlier. Then yelled at the ref, slapped the ball out of davisons hands. And all Davison did was pick the ball up again and walk away. Bohannan clocked Davis in the back of the head in the 2H as well out of frustration. People are looking for stuff on Davison and over doing it, guys get legs tangled up once in a while, it happens all the time but davison has the eye balls on him. He really hasn't done squat in a long time now.
  23. I agree, especially since all moves are halted and won't happen until it's decided. It's not like teams are going to fill out everything now and then all of a sudden a rule change happens in spring training.
  24. To be fair, there's plenty of legit reasons to ditch ones' family. My remembrance way back when it started is the little brother was the one in the wrong. But obviously it seems Aaron is one to be stubborn and hold a grudge so not exactly the easiest guy to make up with. That said, there also hasn't been any headlines on this topic for years now (that I can remember) so do we even know if it's been resolved or not? Maybe they have made up, and since part of Rodgers beef back then was basically being too public off his name, it would make sense to keep it to themselves if they had. Still, none of this should have any factor in MVP. Another thing that pops in my head through the last 9 months with him is think how much we've all thought or complained about players/coaches giving bs coachspeak cliché answers, basically just saying what they're supposed to say. So we've all thought "man wish someone would just take off the filter and be real." Well, that's what he's been doing and now folks are mad about it. I think he's come off badly on plenty of stuff he's said, but I appreciate what he's doing.
  25. Agree on Ashby being one to hold back. Lauer/Houser would be the targets to me as they're closer to arbitration/FA while also not being Ace level like Burnes/Wood. I'm not sure a deal is out there but if one comes up trading one of those solid starter that gets back a clear contributor bat with at least 2-3 years of control left I think you have to strongly consider. That said, you don't have to force it either, but the offense needs a boost
