  1. Hiura has been so comically bad almost anyone has to do better at this point. I'd love to see Green called up. If he manages to OPS .650 that would actually be an improvement of almost 200 points of OPS. Yes, Keston has been so bad that he would literally make Green look like Mike Trout by comparison if Green is only bad and not historically bad. Shaw and Hiura are so bad, there really is no reason not to give Green a shot.
  2. +1. This gives our bullpen a day of rest. Hader and Williams should both be available tomorrow.
  3. It was crushed, an absolute moonshot. Reminded me of some of the homers hit by Russell Branyan and Prince Fielder. Braun also hit his share of homers, but I dont recall many going that far up.
  4. And we are done with them. 5-2 ……the highlight of the season. +1. Coming into the series I just wanted a split. I am a-okay with the split and a 5-2 season record against a pretty good club. We have officially dealt the Padres more than 25% of their losses.
  5. He really is a physical specimen. I really hope the vision/not being able to see at the trop is a thing. I doubt he's Arod. But geez. If he could hit .275 with some power, decent OBP, and good defense, then we have a winner.
  6. This could actually be a really big deal. If Adames is anywhere close to his away numbers then the Brewers got a steal. NO Yelich-eque breakout needed. If Adames is an above average major league shortstop then the Brewers got a bargain.
  7. +1. That would be a big win and would put the Brewers at 5-2 versus the Padres this year. Plus they would be at .500 exiting the series and heading into a June where they play a bunch of bad teams. Lots of June games versus the Tigers, Pirates, Dbacks, and Rockies. If the Brewers are going to make a move, June is it.
  8. +1. Dont need Yelich to be the MVP, but he needs to be above average.
  9. Huge +1. The next 5 years of this franchise teeter on Yelich being healthy and above average.
  10. If I remember right, there was quite a bit of "we should be selling" talk in 2018 as well. I'm personally glad they chose a different path. I think if they are anywhere close to .500 at the deadline, they'll be buyers. And if this team isn't close to .500 at the end of August, that would be a massive disappointment. Don't know when. They were 8 games over. 500 on May 20th, 2018, 13 games over on June 20th, and 11 games over on July 20th. There were ebbs and flows to be sure but they were pretty much in it the whole way. This team is under .500 on May 20th. I just think 2018 was a lot better overall team. I agree with adambr2 as I dont think the 2021 team can be compared to 2018. Much different situation. This year my easy sell candidates would be Hader and Williams. I would consider it "selling high" on bullpen arms that can collapse in a heartbeat. I would also consider selling high on Peralta if we can find a taker. Those three moves wouldnt give the Brewers the top farm in baseball. But they should go a long way towards fixing the situation. Woodruff and Burnes would still be here to lead the top of the rotation into the future. This is all unfortunate but it is needed in light of Stearns whiffing on several draft picks. Corey Ray= Bust Keston Hiura = Awful defense and trending toward a bust on offense. Turang = Escobar and Arcia part III? Small = Ceiling is a 3 or 4 starter? I mean if your a small market team, you just cannot whiff on 1st round picks like that.
  11. The way this team is playing, I wonder if they end up sellers.
  12. Yelich hasn’t looked right since he shattered his kneecap almost two years ago. Correct. At this point I doubt he ever returns to form. That contract is looking very Bobby Bonnila esque.
  13. Agree 100%. He was billed as a pure hitter so it is really sad to see him just swing through fastballs down the middle.
  14. Well... since this one is delayed, I went and checked Keston Hiura's AAA numbers. 7 whiffs in 16 AB's so far. He does have 4 hits and 2 walks, so the OBP is fine. But a near 50% whiff rate so far. Yeesh.
  15. I agree 100%. The Brewers have tons of money tied up in Cain, Yelich, and maybe Bradley. Garcia comes off the books in 2022, but the buyout is $2 million. So really only $8 million off the books. The Brewers can certainly make a move this offseason, but I dont think it will be anything huge unless Bradley opts out. I guess the Brewers could empty the farm in trade as I think Mitchell, Turang, Small, Feliciano have good value. But I personally wouldnt risk the future. Bottom Line: The Brewers need Yelich to return to at least above average production. Dont need him to be the MVP, but he cant be injured or below average.
  16. I am very ok never having to watch this guy pitch in a Brewers uniform again.
  17. Lauer versus Vlogging Trevor Bauer. Sounds like it should be another fiasco.
  18. Yardley needs DFA'd. Absolutely no upside. I'd rather see someone with upside like Weigel getting the innings.
  19. Gotta think Lindblom is dfa'd after today. Time to take a look at Blaine Hardy, Hoby Milner, or RJ Alvarez. Doubt any of them are world beaters. But at this point lindblom is a gas can. Not even a serviceable long man.
