  1. 'Isn't that bad' is probably underselling it, as it's actually been quite good. Yeah, Boston sports have been crazy the last 20 years, but we've had it quite good relative to most markets regardless of size. I think a lot of it comes down to how consistently elite some of the sports have been just to be let downs. Packers and the Bucks are perennial top threats to win a championships. So winning a division or even make the semi final round isn't exactly an accomplishment in anyone's eyes. People want/expect them to take the next step, aka win a 'ship, but usually the team chokes or has a heartbreaking end to the season. I think fans are a bit spoiled and forget how hard it is to take that next step and win it all. It took the Dodgers 8 years to win it all on a massive payroll and winning 92+ games every year. Despite all that 50% of the time they couldn't even win the NLDS and won the World Series in a COVID season.
  2. I suppose if you are trying to compare Wisconsin sports to comparable states/markets it probably isn't that bad. We have fairly competent front offices and a pretty successful college team. Pretty good considering the small market nature and terrible weather. Honestly I am not sure what other small market or similar state has had better luck the past 10-15 years. Maybe Kansas City? They have the two World Series appearances, won in one of them, obviously have the Chiefs now, and many of those same fans would have KU basketball (with a semi recent championship and many Final Fours). Then any NHL fans would have the recent Blue's championship
  3. Goes off the Hawks guys toe, Hawks get ball, and then they hit a three….
  4. Just cut it to 10 before the end of the quarter. That would be decent.
  5. Josh Naylor had an absolutely gruesome ankle injury today colliding in the outfield. Not often baseball has a terrible injury like that but wow, not pretty.
  6. Gag…that’s a pretty lackluster gift. Not even sure what to mix that with. I remember getting it once in college and thought it was nasty no matter what I mixed it with.
  7. While the whole getting on Giannis for the 10 second violation is super annoying and dumb…it’s also kind of annoying an MVP (or any player) has had this violations called in big postseason moments and could have easily had it in other big moments. Figure out a <10 second routine in the offseason. Not worth getting burned when it matter over something, while dumb, is easily avoidable.
  8. That send is arguably about as dumb as it gets. No outs, arguably slowest runner on the team, and top of the order coming up. How is that even a thought to send him?
  9. I will never understand fans wishing for a player on their team to suck and for some reason this seems really popular for Wisconsin sports.
  10. Up and down career? How about the best hitter the Brewers have ever had…. Okay and…? That doesn’t change the fact he went down hill before he hit 30 or the fact he had one of the worst cheating scandals the sport has ever had (his MVP season to boot) or was suspended or had a thumb injury that really derailed his career. It was an up and down career. The fact our history is short and pathetic that Ryan Braun is the best hitter we have ever had doesn’t change the accuracy of my comment. Good….but it was rocky. Best hitter we have ever had, but I’d care more about what a 37 year old Braun can do. Not what he did a decade ago with or without gummy bears.
  11. Everything Braun has said makes the odds he is coming back this year (or ever) pretty much 0%. It is possible they don’t really even care to bring him back in August. What exactly would be the projection for a 37 year old injury prone OFer who sat out most of the year? Oh wait, he would play 1B, a position he has hardly seen in his career and brobably hasn’t practiced in forever. At some point I bet the Brewers would rather go acquire a player actually hitting baseballs in 2021 and has actually produced. Looks like Braun is happy as ever spending time with family and relaxing in Malibu watching over the ocean. Can’t blame him, I would do the same after the rocky up and down career he had.
  12. If Aaron Rodgers wants to sit out the season he can do so and retain his entire, approx. $20mil, signing bonus. Problem is he would have to make the decision by July 2nd. It was previously thought that he wouldn't be able to utilize the COVID opt out because he played last year, however, now it appears the NFL/NFLPA agreement will let anyone with no questions asked. I don't think Rodgers would go this route....but it is a juicy plot twist for the next week or so.
  13. Hiura's feet are actually not overly different than Ryan Braun's were...minus Braun not trying to knee himself in the face on every swing. I think someone has actually mentioned Braun's stance/feet before. Braun also didn't move the front foot much and had a small kick. https://baseballsavant.mlb.com/sporty-videos?playId=af7023a5-0c70-40f7-9de6-1bf2356cb89e I am not sure how fixable Hiura is. If he is just that slow to recognize pitches a smaller leg kick won't necessarily help much. If he has poor pitch recognition he would see more improvement adopting a more defensive stance/swing. However, that's going to dramatically effect power. Then Hiura is a lighter hitting first baseman who still probably strikes out a bunch. Hardly a valuable player. Luis Urias has a pretty big leg kick too. Difference is Urias has a somewhat smaller leg kick and if you slow down a video Luis Urias starts putting his foot down before or as the pitcher is throwing the ball. Keston Hiura is often times not starting that same movement until the ball has left the pitchers hand. It isn't shocking the ball is blazing past him when he has that big of a leg kick and starts putting it down so late. It sure make his whole swing seem rushed/panicky.
  14. Pretty sure...seems rather unnecessary and all it did was cause them to sell less tickets. They are already begging people with a T-Shirt and $1 hot dogs. Why on earth would you put the game in the middle of the day? I mean are other teams pulling the opening day gimmick for 100% capacity making dumb start times?
  15. For reference, he was 1-3 with a walk his last ‘debut’ after coming back from AAA. Certainly. However, I was more referring to the look of the AB. Less leg kick. Less uppercut. One game but positive results from prior Hiura. There doesn't appear to be any change to the leg kick at all: 5/31 https://baseballsavant.mlb.com/sporty-videos?playId=0a1a1725-647a-41fe-9f74-7a9e4f714d86 6/23 https://baseballsavant.mlb.com/sporty-videos?playId=714570ac-5d1f-490f-9e58-645dbc592982 4/16 https://baseballsavant.mlb.com/sporty-videos?playId=52f72c20-b260-4170-b7eb-7af5eddcb79d Looks like all the changes Hiura has made this year came after the first demotion and no one really pointed them out. It looks like there was a slight reduction in the leg kick after the first demotion. Hard to say though, if he did it wasn't much. Prior he was get his foot solidly above the knee and when he came back in May it looks like it now stays slightly below the knee most of the time. It appears he may be trying to get his front foot down sooner...but hard to tell. If you look at videos where a pitch is getting blow past him his front foot is still off the ground when the ball is almost to the plate. The major change is how he holds the bat. Used to be away from the body and low. Now it is up at the top of his head and tighter to the body. However, again, this change happened after the first demotion...it isn't recent to the last demotion. Really trying to dump the big leg kick might help his timing, but I think it would be a big detriment to his power and probably not the preferred method to an attempt to fix a 1B.
  16. There can't possibly be a way paying for a resume writing service will be superior to yourself/google/youtube can do for free.
  17. The used car market is approaching levels that don't even make logical sense. I have known multiple people now that have traded in a used vehicle for basically the same thing brand new and the DEALER paid them. The used car was worth more than the new one. Going to trade in the wife's 2017 with 50k miles and bald tires for a new one. Two trim levels up, dozen+ more features, and brand new will cost a couple grand more than hers is worth.
  18. Josh Hader has always seemed, at least to me, an essential part of winning a World Series. If you get to the postseason elite relievers can be a real game changer. Most winners have one of the better closers in the game. Trading Hader and trying to win a World Series is a combination that doesn’t make a ton of sense.
  19. Yah, the defense was pretty putrid and like there were bricks attached to their feet. Then you got Giannis slapping Young in the face on a three pointer, just brutal. Can't be sending Young to the FT line 12 times in a game.
  20. Giannis is a stat sheet filler MVP. He is consistently a factor in every single game overall. However, he isn’t going to go beast mode and carry the team, he isn’t going to hit clutch threes, he doesn’t have a high basketball IQ. When it comes to the end of a game you don’t even want him to have the ball, let alone take a shot with his his FT woes. If you want a guy to lead your team to a championship, is Giannis even Top 5? Not too sure myself. Not saying he isn’t one of the best in the game, but wow, on a game to game basis he sure gets overshadowed a lot. Sure has a lot of playoff disappointments.

  22. Lol, thought the same. A prayer has a better chance than throwing it to no mans land.
  23. They came out pretty sluggish in the Nets series to start, but got better as the series went on. I figure the same will happen here as they see the Hawks more. Young is no Durant and I have confidence their defense can make him a bit more human. That being said they are getting deep into the playoffs. Coming out sluggish and dropping duds at the start of series is going to burn you if you keep doing it.
