  1. If the games can't be played because the players caught COVID, the NCAA doesn't make money. Fans are going to give them COVID? Seems quite far fetched. Numerous NCAA basketball teams are currently doing it. I heard 6 feet is a good distance...most of these teams allowing fans probably don’t have fans within 50 feet of players etc.
  2. Money and playing time talks, but if those are similar I think Travis Shaw would likely go elsewhere than to have a reunion here. I’m guessing that it is unlikely we outbid everyone enough to make it happen. Can’t say I really want that reunion, personally...guessing the Brewers don’t want it either.
  3. Not to be a downer, but I think the last think the NCAA wants is thousands of fans in an enclosed arena screaming their lungs out. NCAA wants money..,so I actually think they do want that.
  4. Is Goff able to play? I know he like broke his thumb or something. Unknown...but I wouldn’t put it past the Seahawks to lose to whoever starts. Seattle has really only had one convincing win all year, against the Jets. Every other win is pretty close, mostly one score games against a lot of really unimpressive teams. Heck, didn’t Seattle almost lose to the 49ers playing some scrub back up QB this past week?
  5. Everyone seems reserved to the fact we will face the Bucs, but Rams over Seattle seems pretty plausible. Probably one of the most likely upsets in the entire slate of games.
  6. Talk about hot takes on a 1st round pick with limited experience. I agree he isn’t some blue chip prospect to hoard at all costs...but he was 19 last time he was on a field and wasn’t too shabby.
  7. I guess I should clarify Phoenix area, not necessarily literally in Phoenix. I guess for a typical Wisconsin person even Phoenix is going to seem expensive. A decent vacation house that will bring in lots of short term renters will cost ~250k at least. I think they couple I know bought around that a few years ago. Obviously has a pool etc. that people would look for. I don’t think it is a great investment to get into. One is better off just doing Air BnB themselves when they go on vacation. Just invest money in something more worthwhile. More lucrative and less stressful. Not to mention you won’t feel tied down to your vacation rental when you want a vacation. You can just go wherever you want.
  8. Yah, this game means more to the Bears than it does us to be honest.
  9. It can’t be that hard to teach a guy to catch balls can it? Dude doesn’t need to snag balls like Adam’s...but jeez, at least be competent on 90%+ catch balls.
  10. Can’t wait till MVS is gone. A day I will not be sad about.
  11. Rodgers is 3 TDs from 50 on the season.
  12. Good challenge, seemed clear. Defending from the 1 to start would have been enormous. Worth the risk.
  13. Clear touch before going out.
  14. There is a lot of stress/work and expense into a non local rental property like that. The most success I have seen with it is at higher end properties that attract more laid back people. Not million dollar homes/condos, but not something that college kids and cheap families will be seeking out either. It can pay for the mortgage IF it is in a highly attractive area that is pretty year round. Phoenix area is really really good for that. It’s affordable to get a vacation property and attract renters pretty year round. I know someone that snow birds and they say even the non peak time sells really well for them and helps pay for the place.
  15. Why would you not try to avoid surgery? Especially when you can try and avoid it for weeks, still end up getting surgery, and still be ready for spring training. Had nothing to lose trying to avoid this it.
  16. Best for both parties to be honest.
  17. Avi Garcia was not a big deal...maybe for the standards of how the last two offseason have been operated, but that was a pretty minor deal. The money and years were pretty minimal even for a small market team. Strange the team is willing to hand out the next big albatross contract for a guy in his 30s like we learned nothing from Braun or the endless similar deals across baseball, but when it comes to FA we have to nickel and dime our way to a roster these days. Hard to watch.
  18. It depends what you're judging it against. Obviously people are going to have different opinions but I don't think anybody praising it is suggesting it's a nice place to take the family for an inexpensive meal, you take them to Culvers instead. I definitely wouldn't put "inexpensive meal" and "Culvers" in the same sentence. I could just take the family to a sit down family restaurant for cheaper. Culver’s isn’t McDonalds $1.20 McChicken sandwhich cheap, but I don’t think you are going to a sit down restaurant for the same price as Culver’s. Pretty sure the kids meal is like $5 and even a meal for an adult is likely to be $8ish on average or slightly less. Culver’s also brings your meal to you free and doesn’t expect a 20% tip. Culver’s is between fast food and a sit down full service restaurant...and I think the price reflects that. If you are paying less at a family sit down place you must be getting soup and salad.
  19. People certainly do praise it like that and will make it a planned meal. And no...not just the fresh fried chicken. I definitely will plan it for a meal if it is the chicken strips, no shame.
  20. That $7.99 is just for the cable box, DVR is $5 more.
  21. $70 sounds reasonable...if that price lasted longer than 12 months.
  22. Protect local broadcasting rights. FS Wisconsin would be worthless without blackout rules. This is a huge deal with MLB as every team is through some sort of regional sports network.
  23. It isn’t the credit check that hurts, it’s the age of accounts that takes a big hit if you don’t have a ton of accounts, historically. Honestly, one should open up 2-3 credit cards ASAP in their early adult years. Your age of accounts is already pathetically low so what does it matter. Then never cancel those cards so it helps you down the road. Only if one can use them responsibly of course.
  24. The crazy thing about this signing is how much it would never happen in today’s game...yet somewhat common back then. In his incredibly lengthy career he had a sub 4 ERA just one time yet made $58mil. Just crazy.
  25. Kinda shocked they didn’t do what MLB did and do a trial run for the COVID year. It made so much sense for NCAA to do it when one loss can derail a playoff chance.
