    Pizza

I’m behind: 1) There are select pizzas I don’t mind microwaved up...and prefer it for reheating purposes. However, I usually prefer a pizza oven for reheating. 2) I also have an Ooni, Karu to be exact. I enjoy it and it’s pretty rewarding if you get serious with 24+ hour dough proofs. 3) I literally didn’t know Rockys was an actual pizza place that would have its own building and not just some random mall food court pizza until a year or two ago. I grew up in the Eau Claire area and there was one in the mall food court. Only time I ever saw one so I assumed it was a food court chain. I actually just moved and live a mile from one...haven’t gone to it yet. Excited to order a fresh one and see how it tastes, only ever had the single slices off the warmer. I also didn’t know it was mainly Wisconsin based until about 40 minutes ago when I looked it up.
  2. One guy said part of the reason he voted no on the name change was because of the ever changing ballpark name and didn’t want the name to constantly change. Mind you...the proposed name change for the road was “Brewers Boulevard”.
  3. That game where the other team looked terrible in the snow was the Titans. The announcers pretty much beat it to death how the Titans wouldn’t make cuts, but the Packers were doing it. Probably the only reason we beat them so bad, heck maybe only reason we won, is because of that snow.
  4. This is one of those things where if he is the utility guy, okay, not a terrible signing. If he is getting 400+ ABs and hitting like 2019...umm...nope.
  5. I wouldn’t call their run game “very strong”. It’s not bad, but not exactly impressive either. They were #10 in rushing yards per game, but average yards per carry they ranked #17. They certainly have some talent that can cause problems, but not a team that wrecks havoc on teams weekly with the run.
  6. Honestly reminds me of the 2016, but actually really good. The 2016 was pretty solid in the end, but this years team actually feels like one of the elite compared to the rest of the NFL I think we make the NFCCG, but lose to Tampa Bay. Much like the Lakers winning after Kobe died something about Tom Brady at least making to Super Bowl the first year without the Patriots just seems destined to happen. Sometimes it just feels like sports go that way.
  7. The Rams literally had the toughest strength of schedule of any NFC playoff team and the best strength of victory of any team in the NFC and 3rd best in the entire NFL. I suppose if toughest is defined by playing almost all 6-10 to 8-8 teams. They lost 2/3 of their big non divisional games (Bills/Dolphins). I can’t say splitting with the Seahawks is overly impressive. One could argue they were never embarrassed, but at the same time they never really dominated despite playing a lot of below average teams.

    Pizza

I love supporting local farmers and businesses in general...but $9.50 for a 12 inch frozen pizza...? 9/10 I tell my wife to get some sense when she wants the $6ish Portesi. Of course I have bought a $5 half gallon of milk once to support a local farmer so I am sure I will pay $10 for a frozen pizza too. On another note, the reason I dug this thread up, I’m not a huge fan of Lottza Mottza. Stupid amount of cheese for the amount of crust. HOWEVER, there is a new artisan crust that is a thicker crust and WOW. So much better! I believe it is the same price as the normal crust, but not sure as I bought it when there was a $4.50 sale. Highly recommend trying.
  9. The Rams entire resume is about as pathetic as it gets. Washington and the Bears are probably the only teams that could manage a worse resume. The Rams beat Tampa Bay in November and also beat the Seahawks 2/3 times...that is it. Their schedule this year had to be one of the weakest in the NFL. They may have a good defense, but their trash schedule probably pad the stats a bit.
  10. Neither Goff nor Woford played any major role in beating Seattle. When we lost to the 49ers in the NFC title game Jimmy G played almost zero role in it. If the Rams are in this game I expect it to be a lot more on the back of their running game and defense, not their QB. You still have to score and I’d guess even with good play from their defense we will put up 24 or so. Their run game isn’t bad...but it really isn’t great either. They will need some decent QB play to put up enough points in my opinion. They aren’t going to rush for 300 yards nor is Rodgers committing 3 turnovers. There really isn’t a reason to not start Goff though, that’s kinda the point. Seems the Rams are just bluffing to add some slight confusion going into the weekend.
  11. The Rams are beating around the bush on who is starting at QB, however I don’t see any way they don’t go Goff. He was healthy enough to play last week so I don’t see any reason it would be any different this week. Rams have no chance winning with some scrub at QB. Goff is the only one who has the ability to perform well enough to lead them to a win this weekend.
  12. The other day a guy on ESPN (can’t remember who exactly) was basically saying Phillip Rivers and Big Ben were pretty much the same level player. The only difference being Big Ben falling into a perfect situation with a great organization/coach. His main point was that if their paths would have been reversed Rivers would have had great success in Pittsburgh and Big Ben would have had the same success Rivers had in San Diego. He did acknowledge Rivers was the better athlete and Big Ben was the better leader type. He had me agreeing at first, but I think he was ignoring the fact San Diego really wasn’t ran that bad in Rivers time there and honestly had numerous really good teams that were super bowl capable. He had 7 teams that had a Top 11 defense. For comparison, Rodgers has had 4. Phillips Rivers just isn’t a winner in the postseason. I don’t even think being in Big Ben’s shoes would have helped much. Maybe...maybe he appears in a Super Bowl and MAYBE wins one just because some of those defenses could have carried him. I doubt he is anywhere near Big Ben’s success though. Now would Big Ben have been mostly irrelevant like Phillips Rivers if he was drafted by the Chargers? That I could get behind because I don’t think Big Ben is a huge difference maker. Big Ben had arguably the #1 defense each year he went to the Super Bowl and lost in the WC round twice with a top defense. If he had more human teams like Rivers had I am not sure he ever makes a Super Bowl.
  13. My most memorable memory (and not a good one) from college parties is how no one even bats an eye when someone is about to leave ridiculously drunk and drive home. More often than not it was, “Okay man, drive safe!”. I don’t think that was really possible.
  14. I’d rather face the Rams 10/10 times over Tampa.
  15. Even worse was how they gave Buffalo the timeout back...kind of BS. They definitely called that timeout to stop the play for the review to even happen. They then used that timeout on a big pass for Indy.
  16. Phillip Rivers not getting it done again...sums up his career. Stupid Colts kept him in for the Hail Mary and he could even get it close to the end zone in all reality.
  17. And the Colts blow the game on the WR fumbling after a catch and getting up off the ground...ouch. EDIT: And the replay fails again, not a fumble in the end.
  18. His “Joe Mauer” moment would have to be an inning at SS. Pretty sure before the 2020 season or maybe 2019 he thought he could play SS.
  19. Not sure Garcia’s projection means “he is who he is 2020”. He had a .659 OPS in 2020. That projection is much higher, pretty close to his career OPS. Schwarber is much the same with a projection just under his career number. If anyone is getting docked for 2020 it is Schwarber. He is young and increased his OPS three years in a row before 2020. I think he is average-ish including his defense and I expect him to rebound into that mid .750 OPS range. I wouldn’t complain about that at face value. Of course I don’t think an average OFer with a pretty bad floor (as evidence in 2018/2020 and most of his career) is worth $12mil or so. I think a team would be much more interested in difference making offense, even if the defense is rough. Garcia is just meh.
  20. I don't know. An actual major league team just paid Kyle Schwarber $10 million, after he was downright terrible in 2020. Garcia is a year older, but their 3-year splits prior to 2020 compare pretty favorably. Garcia is also a premium corner OF defender, while Schwarber might be one of the worst OF defenders in the majors. I think you are reading WAY too much into 2020 numbers, when by all appearances judging by Schwarber's deal, MLB teams are willing to write them off. Either that, or the Nationals just made a terrible personnel move. 3 year splits will compare favorably, but that is because it will grab Garcia’s massive outlier year of 2017. Garcia has never hit for an .800 OPS outside of that year. Take 2-year splits and you have a much different story. I am guessing most teams would project an OPS sub .750 for Garcia and an OPS of .800+ for Schwarber. Offensively, that just aren’t on the same planet for projections. Here is BF.net: Garcia: .736 OPS Schwarber: .808 OPS Also I am not taking 2020 into consideration at all...Garcia really hasn’t been a good hitter for most of his MLB career. Like many I didn’t like the signing from the get-go.
  21. Garcia has no trade value. His base salary is $10.75mil and a very likely to be declined $12mil option for 2022 that has a $2mil buyout. Don’t think you could even dump him on a team for a $1 in return.
  22. Tom Haudricourt sucks at more than just breaking rumors. Just my opinion, but I think he just flat out sucks at his job. Reporting on the Brewers in Milwaukee isn’t the best gig for reporting...but I never see people complain about someone like Adam McCalvy.
  23. I think it came up at one point and he certainly does not care for any standing ovation or “going out” party stuff. He does, however, want fans in the stands and a normal baseball season.
  24. You simply aren’t going to get a big return when a guy is a rental or in Carrasco’s case a two year deal for a really old player. Next year the remount of revenue is going to be poor to dreadful. Those big contracts are a huge detriment to value under current circumstances.
  25. The only other team I could think of is the 2016 team. That team also won the last 6 games in similar fashion. This is probably the most balanced team Rodgers has had since 2014 in my opinion.
