  1. The fastest, most efficient, and best outcome customer support is on Twitter. Not kidding. Part of the reason may be the fact they are all US based people and I also think the public complaint creates a motivation to make better amends. A phone call complaint is seen by no one else, but on Twitter the whole world can see it. Just make sure to tweet at the customer support page for a brand, most seem to have a dedicated page for support these days. Calling Spectrum is usually a terrible pain in the butt experience...but Twitter is super easy and they are great.
  2. I think that team lost three games that year, all by a TD or less, with two of them happening literally on the last play of the game. Insanity. That team was indeed good enough to win the whole thing in a playoff. Yah...of course it would have never made a 6 team playoff and quite possibly not even an 8 team playoff. They lost to MSU, OSU, and Oregon. Michigan State wasn’t anything special, OSU was terrible that year (losing record), and Oregon was #6. Maybe the best Wisconsin team in who knows how long...but still don’t think it would have any chance winning 3 games against elite opponents. On another note: Not sure comparing ranked conference opponents in championship games is fully accurate. Teams usually play conference foes closer despite talent level (in many cases).
  3. I have always found Kwik Trip food to be really overrated. Now...some of it is good. I like the breakfast sandwiches, the hot spot pizza isn’t too shabby, and the chicken is obviously good because they make it fresh themselves. The new crispy chicken is good too I suppose, though some people were comparing it to a Popeyes crispy chicken...and well, their tastebuds must be messed up beyond repair. The normal chicken sandwiches, the burgers, sausages, etc. all taste like gas station food. Unless it is for the chicken (or breakfast sandwiches) I will most certainly rather eat something else. Sorry, generally speaking, it still tastes like gas station food. Definitely not on the level of fast food places.
  4. Funny how that works. I’d think a garbage deal with every streaming service would be better than one solo subscription service they do themselves.
  5. Yah...don’t think $51mil is getting it done. I’m guessing we would have to be more in the $70mil range to get it done. $4mil $7.5mil $11.5mil $15.5mil $16mil $16mil That is about 6/$70mil...probably something like that is what it would take. Of course he may decline that too...any extension would ruin his one shot at a big FA deal. He is set to hit FA for his age 32 season. An extension that buys out two more years suddenly makes him 34 in FA. I don’t really like an extension for Woodruff...which I have said before. We still control him 4 more years through his age 31 season at a reasonable cost if he is truly a great pitcher. I don’t see any reason to take on a bunch of risk for his age 32/33 seasons. Usually an extension like this is to buy out more of their prime, which with Woodruff we would arguably be gambling to have the start of his decline under control.
  6. Food for thought, would you rather: 1) Wisconsin make the playoff as the bottom seed and having a ridiculously high chance of getting demolished by Clemson or Alabama (pretty much assured). 2) Go to the Rose Bowl and have a legit match up and likely a close/exciting game? Honestly, will you really feel like Wisconsin has a chance if they make it as a #6 seed and go face the #1 team? No, so does it really make it better to expand playoffs? It won’t increase the chances of winning a championship or how much you feel like they could. I’m all for expanding the playoff...but I’m not sure how much more exciting it would make a Badgers football season in reality.
  7. I'd love to see the breakdown of how you came up with this.... Well, it would depend on any bundles one does and how many boxes they need...or if they need DVR. If you start wanting to have those things for 3+ rooms cable gets ridiculous. I calculated it and after the first year deal it was going to be about $1k more for cable.
  8. Streaming services are perfectly fine. They would survive without the regional sports networks. They still have all the major sports channels to cover college sports, NFL, and other nationally televised games. It lacks MLB/NBA/NHL in some cases...while a big hit it still covers NFL which is what most people are after. Of course let’s not forget the majority of people don’t care about sports or only care about the NFL. That’s still a massive consumer base. If people can get a subscription option later on that would likely be better when paired with a streaming service over cable. Though, to be fair, who knows how much a streaming option will cost for the regional networks. The better question, “Will the regional sports networks even be on cable if they make a subscription service? Or does it become its own thing exclusively?” I’m not sure hundreds of dollars is classified as minimal either.
  9. The time it takes to set up a streaming service is approximately 10 minutes. Changing streaming services, if you feel the need to do so, 20 minutes. Hardly a hassle and no one has to come into my house...or charge me rent to use a box. You also don’t have to call to cancel and return equipment etc. A hassle would be TV contracts or the massive price hikes cable customers see...that most then call, threaten, and complain over multiple phone calls to get reduced. I’m not sure what I would value the ability to watch the Brewers at...but I know it isn’t an extra $1,000+ a year. Everyone has their things they spend money on and don’t feel the need to find ways to save on. I have seen people cling to cable over way dumber things than the Brewers/Bucks. I know someone that has it because no streaming service will let them have the History channel and another specific channel they like. $1,000 seems like a hefty price to make sure you can watch Pawn Stars, but hey...not my money. Of course I am the kind of person that will switch around my bank account every 6-12 months to get $500 account opening bonuses. I know many won’t go through that kind of effort.
  10. Their standalone option isn’t expected until well into 2021 it sounds like, probably not even before the MLB season starts.
  11. I don’t think I have ever had a McRib. However, looks like it would give me throwback vibes to one of the only school lunches I liked.
  12. Graham Mertz should have been taken off the field long ago. Clearly he isn’t going to figure it out this year. Put someone else in.
  13. By the time they fix their entire team Stafford will be ancient and/or gone. Imagine trading for two first rounders and then using them to get a major QB in this draft (or maybe the next one). It makes sense if they have a full on rebuild plan.
  14. Montgomery is the most overrated front office person in Brewers history. Everyone talks about his drafting...but what did he even do? He always seems to be put on a pedestal, but I’m not even sure what he does these days and his history doesn’t really seem magical. I’m pretty sure most of his praise comes from his time as Midwest and national supervisor with us...that was in the days of Braun etc. being drafted. I’m not sure specifically when he was in those roles, but I think that is where his praise comes from.
  15. Maybe if it wasn't a supermax...I don't think it was a formality he would sign, but about as close as it can get. A super max basically lets you outbid the competition by a huge margin...you would have to be running one heck of a garbage organization for any player to pass it up. Years down the road it will be interesting to see how many players (if any) actually decline such a deal. The rare event in all this is them originally drafting him...the contract not so much. I would bet on us drafting another Giannis before I die before we trade for another Yelich, wins MVP instantly, 2nd place next year, and then sign a massive contract to stay in baseballs smallest market for essentially the rest of his career.
  16. How do we know Giannis wouldn't prefer to build a super team in Milwaukee? Is it he doesn't want to or is it actually the fact no player wants to come play in Milwaukee? Any player looking to join a super team will go pick to be in a better market in all honesty.
  17. There are other things that go into a contract like a team flying his family to X amount of games, hotel accommodations for family, the use of sweets for family, trade restrictions, etc... Permission to hit up the dessert bar? Contracts really do get into the petty details.
  18. I get they want to string it along for clicks and whatnot...but you would think you could (and would want to) dish them all out before the offseason really starts during the dead time. Any, on paper the rotation is actually pretty good...if guys would play up to those projections. Pretty generous with the projections for Houser and Linblom. Those two dudes didn't even combine for 0 WAR last year and next year we project them at 4.3? Yah...I don't know about that. On the flip side most of the offensive projections feel a bit conservative...though I won't argue why they are the way they are. Hopefully the offensive overperforms to make up for how much that rotation will likely underperform.
  19. Why do they do these projections in December...it just looks dumb before moves are made. Especially when some teams are released in November and some in what...nearly January? Do they update these as moves are made at least?
  20. I can't say I am super sad the Brewers didn't sink a 2-year deal into a 35 year old 1B/DH coming off a poor year. Though having a guy who walks more than striking out would have been cool.
  21. Well you let us know when you find a guy worth $15bil wanting to buy the Brewers and move to Milwaukee, WI to blow his money on a baseball team in the Midwest that has zero history. I don't get how people can complain about the payroll and when someone gives a logical explanation of why their complaint isn't really warranted it is, "Well, you don't see the books, how do you know?" Neither do you...so how are you complaining about how much money Attanasio throws into the payroll or not. The Brewers own a MiLB affiliate and paid for their massive spring training complex renovations. How many teams have done that?
  22. Guessing it is being changed because the best team in the Big Ten is ineligible to play and that makes zero sense. It was a unanimous decision. If Wisconsin was undefeated in conference play and primed to be in the playoff they would have made this change for them too. Unfortunately Wisconsin was nowhere near a good enough team to make that an option for them.
  23. Mark A is not a billionaire. He's worth around $700 million. Tied for 25th out of the 30 MLB owners. Source And almost all of that isn't in the form of cold hard cash I would bet.
  24. Many of the schools by me closed for precautionary reasons...not necessarily widespread infection or lack of teachers. I know a few did close because a lack of teachers, but there have certainly been some that did not. I believe the other school that kept doing in school sessions stopped for Thanksgiving-January as planned, which I know a lot of schools around the country planned on. I am not saying the schools plan is poor for having in school, but I think it has gotten to the point it flat out just shouldn't be happening. You aren't going to find widespread infections at schools because kids rarely show meaningful symptoms (if any) and aren't tested much. Their infections are almost always going to be caught when they give it to older family members in their household. The person in my household is with one year olds all day. I bet there are no cases of someone getting infected via a one year old or toddler. why? Well, how many one year olds has the state tested? Kids are so often asymptomatic or have minor symptoms you could have pretty large outbreaks at a school and be quite unaware that it is happening. I mean shouldn't a daycare follow close contact protocols? I am no expert, but I bet the state has specifically told them to follow such guidance. At this daycare you are going to be a close contact to at least one other person during the day....I would think that person would have to quarantine.
  25. Here we go...the yearly, "Mark Attanasio is a rich billionaire and should use his large wealth to increase payroll, lose money, and barely move the needle on our World Series odds." We all want that, but can we please acknowledge almost no team operates that way? It has not and will never happen here. No rich billionaire is going to buy MLBs smallest market, in a place like Milwaukee, WI, and proceed to lose gobs of money. Mark Attanasio is the best owner this franchise has ever had and will likely be way better than any potential owner in your lifetime. If Attanasio sold this team I feel like you would be at his $50mil doorstep begging him to buy the team back.
