  1. Unfortunately “American Family Insurance Park” meets his criteria. Insurance will not be in the name. It will end up American Family Park/Field. They seem to care about what the fans think and will look for input. So no way they put the full name in there like that as no one wants that.
  2. Let me know when they have it somewhere more accessible. Don’t feel like dealing with downtown Milwaukee so I have never attended.
  3. I’m not saying others rent doing similar (though Davidson is way worse regardless) or I blame him. Just saying hard to get made when it goes against him. My favorite is when someone flops, falls down, doesn’t have it called as a foul, and then the offensive player gets an easy basket.
  4. Davidson is a flopper, biggest flopper I have seen in recent memory from games I watch. You wanna flop, fine, but you will get the bad calls going against you then when well over half the time you fall down you are just acting it out.
  5. Mariano Rivera blew two championships because he gave up one run in two seperate games? Yah...blaming him is quite the stretch there.
  6. Old people
  7. Oh totally. This is the first year in way too long where you feel like a good handful of teams could realistically win it. If it was always like this I might watch more and be a real fan. In the recent past it was essentially a two team race, maybe a third of you were generous.
  8. Feels as though every 5 or so years we are due for brutal cold stretch. I think 2013 was the spring here in Northern Wisconsin we got just an unreal 10+ inch snowstorm at least a week into May. I am really hoping the snow holds off and we get a mild spring as far as snow goes. I hate how long it lingers on the ground up here.
  9. NBA Finals: Golden State over Bucks Not really a Bucks or NBA fan, but do follow a bit in recent years. I think the Bucks are going to make it to the finals due to their depth...I think it helps them win series. But something tells me the Golden State Warriors experience and talent prevails. Guessing like a 4-2 series. Unfortunately I think it is Milwaukee's golden opportunity to win it all and I think it will sting when they come up short.
  10. [sarcasm]Pretty ticked Culver's didn't get in on the act. No more butter burgers for me.[/sarcasm] Dang...I would have backed that... You all should be happy I have yet to win the lottery. I would call it Cheese Curd Field or something. Fresh and deep fried curds would rule the land.
  11. Interesting fact, coldest Wisconsin temperature was -55 in 1996.
  12. I actually question this for American Family. Is this really a good investment? Seems most people who will experience this change (namely Brewers fans) are either furiously angry or don't care. Don't see anyone happy about this. I'm guessing even the "don't care" people would have greatly preferred this didn't happen. Not sure how much "Miller Park" stuff the Brewers actually sell, but I can bet you I will buy nothing featuring American Family as our home etc. Miller Beer was already garbage so that won't change me not buying that and American Family pretty irrelevant to me as I have insurance already. Sure doesn't make me want to get it now.
  13. Guess there is no way we keep him after this year if he loves hitting at "Miller Park"
  14. This is a fair take on the matter...to a point. My problem with it is the game would still be vastly different than their game of yesterday. Pro sports were the lucrative giant they are now back then. So the amount of talent and depth back then was probably seriously limited compared to todays game. I think the amount of talent back then not playing baseball is a lot because there just wasn't to motivation to do so. Todays back end roster guys (notably pitchers) are probably way better than what was there in the early 1900s. I would be surprised if the comparison is somewhat like the Japanese league v. the MLB. Good talent, but maybe not quite even ground. My other issue is the senses needed in yesterdays game versus today's game. They pitched a lot slower back then and threw less variance of pitches. I think this is a big deal that doesn't make Ruth dominating todays game that much of a sure thing. Back then you didn't need the sheer speed to recognize pitches as you do now. If Ruth would have had trouble with pitch recognition of 90+ mph then he would be a large failure in today's game. For instance a high school kid may dominate and recognize 75-85, but give him 90 or even 95+ and he can't do it no matter how much training he gets. You have to be naturally gifted to have that kind of speed recognition. Maybe Ruth had it? Maybe not... I think many of yesterdays game would be great if they had todays training...but I bet a big majority would actually fail because they don't have the natural ability needed now.
  15. The wind chills are the real problem. Up north we are projected -26 for a temperature and -50 for a wind chill. I am guessing there will be a lot of pipes freezing and/or bursting for a lot of people. We simply don't have much snow up here that typically insulates the ground. I probably have 3 inches in my yard if being generous.
  16. It will be AmFam and it will be AmFam Park...not field. Why? Well for starters that is what was on the back of the jersey they got at the announcement. I think that was more than just the convenience of it fitting on the jersey. People keep throwing out “Field” and I don’t get it. It was named Park before I except that to continue. If not I would guess American Family Park. I don’t see Insurance being included...just don’t see it.
  17. David Stearns is actually a two job man now. His new title and he is still General Manager. They would have to promote someone to GM to make Stearns a one job kind of guy.
  18. That is strange because it isn't even the same structure. I feel like once you build a new stadium that name should rightfully change.
  19. Obviously they just paid him the AmFam money!!!!!!!! Welcome to Davis Stearn's palace at AmFam Park!
  20. Two promotions for two great minds. Enjoy both of them.
  21. Whew! An extra $2mil a year! Don't kid yourself, this isn't helping improve the on field team even one sliver. $2-$3mil extra a year isn't going to make or break any addition. If we are competing we would spend the extra money anyway, if we aren't it is just going into the owners pocket. I know why it was done and wouldn't expect them not to do this, but if you think this will ever improve the on the field performance...whew, rude awakening. This is just to make the team worth more and more profitable.
  22. I think that name is cringy because of the political connection. Probably a good reason no matter the money I doubt the Brewers would want that name on the stadium. Purely from a name standpoint Foxconn is better because I think less of a company when I hear it, much like Miller Park. I really am hoping for AmFam Park. I doubt it though.
  23. Still better than the other MIL pro teams venue name and way better than the White Sox...The stadium logo is literally Guaranteed Rate with a MASIVVE red arrow pointing downwards. The White Sox were so money hungry they still did the contract after Guaranteed Rate denied taking the red arrow out and replacing it with a black homeplate that looked similar to their logo, but not quite.
