  1. I feel like we are right where the 2015 Cubs were. The start of it all. Not saying it will ever lead to the promised land, but I think there are multiple postseason births to come.
  2. Yah I honestly can’t take Hader as a starter seriously. Last night he threw like 33 pitches and 3 of them were not fastballs. I get it he doesn’t have to throw anything else right now and that is legitimate to an extent. He overpowers batters in short stints we often forget his control isn’t that great. He often times doesn’t throw anything, but fastballs to RHB. Most of his sliders go to LHB whet he can afford a mistake and/or can get swings on bad pitches with it. Often times his location with his fastball is pretty bad, but in short stints he can get away with it. The velocity is another problem. His velocity is so high because he knows he goes out there for a short amount of time. That is a BIG deal for a guy throwing almost exclusively fastballs. As a starter what does he hang around? 95 maybe? I can’t fathom it being good long term for him or us for him to start. I doubt he pitches so good as a starter to offset his value coming into the highest of leverage spots that exist and mow down guys almost every time.
  3. You could probably find a better example than a guy who fell off a cliff the second his extension kicked in. It is just not a wise idea, let’s resist that urge. Who knows if he is even worth that money in 4 years.
  4. Haha the Dodgers booed Machado during their celebration. That is why I thought it was so stupid from the start. He got the last laugh and I can’t help but chuckle. Worry about winning games not some douche just trying to get in everyone’s head. Shows the Dodgers are a pathetic team though. Any normal team would sweep anything to do with the POS play under a carpet and ignore it.
  5. The biggest need is pretty simple: RH impact bat Not sure we can get that though... Also important in my mind: Relief help after half our pen goes to the rotation or AAA to wait in the wing as #6 #7 guys.
  6. Just post a video of a Viking kicker shanking a field goal. Cause that is what we did.
  7. We can be optimistic about how this is the start of the window blah blah blah, but I bet we get MAYBE one more solid NLCS shot with this bunch. Not trying to be negative, but we are a small market and can’t sustain this every single year...it’s hard. We don’t have the money to fix every years holes. Even when we do get to the postseason we won’t always be hot and do great. 10 years from now this probably still stings a lot.

  9. I’d stream for the exit too. Why watch more sad baseball and get stuck depressed in the parking lot for an hour.
  10. Yes, remember Jason Kendall. They made rules where you could cover the logo too much.
  11. Might be the only thing you and I agree on tonight. It just needs to stop. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk The game is over, I think we can agree there too.
  12. Nelson Chacin Burnes Woodruff Hader I guess...but Hader has his bullpen success off just throwing heaters constantly. I really don’t know if he can actually pitch well enough to be a 6+ inning guy. He just overpowers guys who see him once. Seems risky to have three unproven guys and one coming off major injury in your rotation at once. His value coming in when sorely needed it’s so valuable it is hard to quantify. He literally makes a starter level impact in less than half that time.
  13. Y’all can stop booing Machado. He whooped us multiple times this series and is on his way to the WS while we go home to our couch. Just looks silly now.
  14. There big problem for next year is not only do they need offense, but they need big impact offense and it needs to be RH. Not only that, but the obvious postitions are SS, 2B, and C. That’s a big barrier and a big reason I bet we go into next year with the same sad offense. Unless they have the balls to trade Shaw or Aguilar OR negate Braun to a total bench role I doubt we empty the farm or payroll to get it done.
  15. On the bright side I am saving $2,000+ not having to make a trip for the World Series. Can get that new car a lot sooner now!
  16. One would hope so. The thought about next years rotation is really exciting, but in doing so they will severely hurt the incredible bullpen that got them here and gave them so much success in the postseason. I think that is something a lot of people don’t realize. No Burnes, Peralta, Woodruff, etc. super pen. That is what took us from meh to woah.
  17. I hope you are right and this isn't a big season to remember. The only way that happens if if this team makes multiple playoff appearances and World Series appearances in the next 5-6 years. If that doesn't happen, I sure as heck am going to remember this as a great season regardless of what happens tonight. This season has been the most fun I've even had watching this team. Winning the division in Game 163 on that great run was pretty awesome. But I don’t care how great the ride was, losing in the NLCS is just not something to celebrate 10 even 5 years down the road. Yeah you will remember it, but surely not that much. I mean no one even mentions the 2011 team these days unless it was about how it has almost been a decade since we did anything.
  18. Everyone else watches the same thing you watch. No team is giving up meaningful value for him.
  19. Sucks this team couldn’t actually give us a season to remember. Instead basically just another 2011 where it’s a fond memory in the back of your head. Bummer, huge bummer.
  20. They have Kershaw and Jansen (plus more) 4 runs would be some kind of improbable comeback for the history books.
  21. Yup, and who knows when we will ever get this close again. Hopefully before my 2 year old graduates college.
  22. Man more runs here would be just killer...absolutely killer. They have the knock out punch in the pen.
