  1. Our current three OFers are RH and Granderson is LH. Granderson=veteran 4th OFer I think the rumor is true. Could be used as late inning LH pinch hitter and then replace one of the OFers when he comes in. Possibly Santana as a defensive replacement. Having a lefty OF bat when we sit Braun 5 times a week would be nice to throw into the mix. Also allows better defense than using Thames/Perez etc. too. Might be a sign the LH hittting Brett Phillips is being shopped in bigger deals.
  2. David Stearns didn't trade Lewis Brinson for Jose Quintana so step off the ledge concerned Brinson fans. If Brinson goes it will be for someone better than Quintana...probably a lot better/more valuable. I guess Stearns could pull a 180 and cave in to Attanasio's wants, but at that point Stearn's is just as stupid as Attanasio and I guess our GM isn't so great after all. Especially if he goes out and gets someone worse for Brinson when he could have had Quintana.
  3. So Attanasio wants Gray, but gives all power to front office. It's almost news, but it isn't. Stearns isn't giving up Brinson so no need to worry there.
  4. Hard pass. He isn't that good and homer prone. We don't need a mid rotation guy. Get someone with better upside/results in my opinion.
  5. Jonathan Villar has value. Quite a bit I would guess. More than people think. He had a phenomenal year last year start to finish. If Segura can hold a bunch of value for years when he was good only a few month pretty sure Villar can do the same.
  6. I can see why they may want him, but ehhh...I don't know. Keon Broxton was terrible and our other two options are totally unproven. With Granderson you assure yourself more steady production where Brinson/Phillips may start out their careers rough. Take on money and Granderson wouldn't cost much prospect wise. Has been pretty bad lately though. Seems unneeded. Rather role my Brinson dice.
  7. Huh? The Dodgers traded Jose De Leon to get Logan Forsythe to be their starting 2B this past offseason. Dodgers have a team option on Forsythe for 2018. Not sure they will pick up his option with Calhoun raking at AAA. Forsythe can play multiple positions though. They will pick it up and trade him at worst.
  8. Do you think the Brewers are contenders next year? I'm not trading assets right now for a player that may make a playoff impact for one year of his contract. Gray's price is high because of his talent and control. The Brewers will pay extra for a year in which they probably won't be contending. That's why I'm not wrapping my head around Gray. Who knows? Lots of money and prospects to make a lot of changes for next year. Also a lot of pitchers will be at AAA and Dubon should be ready to help out. If we are on the verge of competing now why can't we next year? Simply put, yes, I think the Brewers field an even better team after many additions before next season to be competitive.
  9. We don't need starters. Our rotation has been really good lately. One implosion in a spot start doesn't mean we need starters.
  10. I'm not going to lose that much sleep over this game. We had to have Michael Blazek spot start for us against one of the best starters in the game and after he didn't do well we put in Peralta who obviously sucks as well for garbage time. One of those games that was likely a lost cause from the start. Even so this game is another loss and this team needs to start getting out of this rut. This team did so well avoiding bad streaks all season and now we are just stuck in this one.
  11. August can't come soon enough. This forum has been a broken record for weeks. We got it...person A doesn't want to buy and person B wants to get a big addition. Still amazes me people still can't wrap their mind around the concept Sonny Gray doesn't have to be a win now move for this year. He and just about every other player we are connected to is controllable even past next year. I'm not really a Sonny Gray addition supporter, but it wouldn't upset me that much knowing he is controllable 2 more years. I probably wouldn't make a huge addition this summer, but any controllable player added doesn't make me that upset. I'm not sure what is available this winter or *possibly* next summer, but maybe they prefer Gray(and his price) over those potential options.
  12. Gray not being traded yet means nothing to the possible package. We took a long time to trade both Gomez and Lucroy. Both times people thought we were going to get a dissapointing package and when we whiffed on the first traded people we then really sure the package was going to be dissapointing. Everyone was wrong to say the least. The deadline isn't a race for either buyers or sellers.
  13. I would be surprised if assets making 6 figures cleared waivers. Usually only contracts that would require ownership review and approval or contracts with negative value. The playoff odds can still swing pretty wildly in the next 4 days. If the Brewers only win 1 of the next 4 and can get a prospect of close to Cordell value and a position of less depth and potentially not rule 5 eligible, it would make a lot of sense to me to pull the trigger in what would essentially be a 3 way trade. He said moved not clear waivers. Since he is a rental only a team competing would be likely to claim him. If he pitches well we could probably get a minor piece back from said team.
  14. Pensacola plates four unearned runs in eighth to beat Shuckers Loss on Wednesday spoiled six shutout innings from starter Jon Perrin By Biloxi Shuckers Perrin lowered his ERA to 3.34 after six shutout innings on Wednesday night. (Hunter Reed) Biloxi Shuckers Box Score Quick Summary: Jon Perrin tossed six strong innings striking out five while giving up no runs. Nick Ramirez also logged two innings while giving up no earned runs. Unfortunately for the sharp pitching with two outs in the 8th inning a Blake Allemand error lead to four unearned runs for Ramirez. The offense didn't really help matters only logging one run on eight hits. Johnny Davis had a solid day going 3-4 and stealing a base to lead the offense. All said and done it was a painful 4-1 loss. Pitching Summary: On the mound, Jon Perrin (6.0 IP, 4 H, 5 K) started the game while Nick Ramirez (2.0 IP, 3 H, 4 R, BB) provided the relief. Hitting Summary: Johnny Davis (3-4, R, SB) Blake Allemand (1-4, RBI) Clint Coulter (1-4, 2B) Biloxi Shuckers Game Log Blake Allemand error sinks Shuckers. Pensacola Bottom of the 8th Chad Tromp grounds out, shortstop Gabriel Noriega to first baseman Dustin DeMuth. Offensive Substitution: Pinch-hitter Joe Hudson replaces Carlos Gonzalez. Joe Hudson grounds out softly, second baseman Blake Allemand to first baseman Dustin DeMuth. Blake Trahan singles on a line drive to right fielder Clint Coulter. Gabriel Guerrero walks. Blake Trahan to 2nd. Nick Senzel reaches on a fielding error by second baseman Blake Allemand. Blake Trahan scores. Gabriel Guerrero to 3rd. Gavin LaValley singles on a sharp line drive to left fielder Angel Ortega. Gabriel Guerrero scores. Nick Senzel to 2nd. Josh VanMeter doubles (23) on a sharp line drive to center fielder Johnny Davis. Nick Senzel scores. Gavin LaValley scores. Aristides Aquino flies out to center fielder Johnny Davis.
  15. Brewers aren't going to sell. May quickly be pumping the brakes on buying though.
  16. Take this from someone who doesn't overreact in the moment(like most in the IGT) and has not been on the Hader love train: Josh Hader should have been left in there and CC way over managed the bullpen today. He made Bryce Harper look foolish. Dude should have been left in there. Dissapointing to say the least how it transpired tonight. Was that some attempt at a huge confidence booster? Leave after dominating Bryce Harper? I don't know...didn't like that at all.
  17. Harper...it was a strike. Melted down and choked mid AB
  18. Here we go. Hader in a big spot that everyone keeps preaching for.
  19. It was. Full count hit and run. A ball well outside the zone got called a strike...not much we can do there. They weren't trying to steal a base. It was to get Braun a running start to avoid a DP.
  20. They could have thrown Suter tomorrow easily on normal rest. None of those options match up the next two days? Really?
  21. There he is. Missed you man. Was waiting all day for you to chime in. Hopefully less than a week left to go and permanent silence.
  22. Strange way going about this situation if you ask me.
  23. Looks like an open spot in the rotation right now... *restarts drama*
