  1. Braun would have to waive his no-trade or the Brewers would have to pull him back. Yup this is true. Finally found a place that showed this info
  2. Actually if we put Braun on waivers and a team claims him I am pretty sure we could just let him go even if they are on his no trade list. It isn't a trade so a no trade list doesn't do much for him.
  3. I think teams are starting to learn that Villar takes big leads and isn't the best at getting back. I still think another problem is the Brewers are making Villar steal too much. It feels like he is always attempting to steal so he is always leaning towards second making him easier to pick off.
  4. I don't want to insult that great Trent Clark catch, BUT that play was awful. Would have been a routine catch standing like a tree if he didn't run in 10 feet before going back. I seriously hope that isn't how he plays on a regular basis.
  5. This effects his value NONE. If it does that team needs new scouts. We have seen plenty of Villar at SS. A small stint at 3B does nothing.
  6. I was never a big fan of putting him at A+. I can't help, but wonder why that decision was ultimately made. Was it made just so he could play center and so could Clark? If so that was a big waste as Brinson will play center for years to come and my god I hope Ray gets to the majors fast enough to make that a problem. I won't blame them for their decisions to acquire any of these guys though. We drafted Clark with no clear future CFer and Phillips was then acquired after the fact. We then drafted Ray which might be questionable, but his tools are fantastic. If Phillips flopped he could easily play center. THEN not that we could have predicted, but we then got Brinson who trumps them all and is in AAA. Sure maybe unpredictable, but it sucks knowing we got four players who had a ton of value tied to being CFers and 3 of them won't play there. Hopefully the power develops for the others so they profile at the corners better. I wish we weren't stockpiling OFers like no tomorrow, but it is what it is.
  7. "When was the last time we had a perennial gold glove talent?" Like a year. Carlos Gomez played gold glove defense every year.
  8. It's a shame former players get to a point where they sell everything off. His #3000 ball will likely go to a collector to never be seen again. When in reality it should be in the HOF or with the Brewers. At the end of the day money trumps everything.
  9. Dude has one powerful sweet swing. I bet scouts just adore him. Everyone complained about us not having a superstar prospect in the system...well, this guy is it.
  10. Torres would get claimed. Doesn't mean we can't trade him, but a team with a good bullpen contending would claim to block other contenders. Boyer's stats suck. No K's and lots of hits. Kirk N. Should be an interesting case.
  11. I think people are trying to find a reason for his struggles this year. If I got a dollar for every player with a stance that wasn't "perfect" I would be rich. Craig Counsell played baseball for a long time with one of the worst stances to ever exist. Too early to say it is an issue.
  12. These exercises are pretty brutal since there are things we can't account for. For instance Austin got rid of Villar, Braun, Nelson, and Santana. That's a fine prediction except we can't account for what they will bring back and that is likely a ton of value. Someone should make a bunch of imaginary trades, sign some free agents, and trade for some players. That would be pretty cool and something to dream on.
  13. Heard Haudricourt say they are gone.
  14. It won't because the fire sale is completed. We have no Gomez/Lucroy/Smith/Jeffress left. There is potentially Thornburg if the reliever market gets crazy next July again and MAYBE Braun. Gone are the days of massive Top 100 prospect hauls.
  15. I doubt it is Matuella. He is one of those guys who will always have a higher value for the team that drafted him. Trade him and you risk looking like an absolute idiot if he puts it together. Then again Daniels probably won't be around to care.
  16. I am a fan of Stokes too. I think it was the last ranking or the one prior that I was one of the people to rank him higher than most. He didn't make my ranking because of what appears to be a lower ceiling. Too many high ceiling guys to pick from.
  17. Totally forgot about Mallen. I will have to edit my list later to stick him in there.
  18. Its not too late to change your list and put Brinson where he rightfully belongs. I understand he is new and his stats are down this year, but just take a quick peak. Kid is going to absolutely mash and play gold glove defense. 19. [sarcasm]Well if you read the dang rules[/sarcasm] 130 ABs Or 50 IP Wang has 17.1
  20. There is something about a player picking Milwaukee over MLB offers and it all working out in the end that is really pleasing on the heart. I will miss JJ. It was clear he truly liked being here and didn't take the success for granted. Those kind of people are way too rare in this game.
  21. That was overblown. Unlikely to happen soon.
  22. Have you heard anything about the Brewers paying part of the contract to better the return? I also heard Buster Olney say today that Braun might not be traded because of his personal relationship with Attanasio. I hope that's not true but wouldn't be surprised if it was. Are they actually that close? I mean Attanasio got absolutely screwed by Braun right after he handed him a $100mil contract. A big reason for that investment was for the off the field perks/money generated. Braun pretty much torched all that stuff and costed Attanasio a ton of money. I am not saying Attanasio hates him, but more I question such a love that he would refuse to trade him.
  23. Counsel probably love the batting stance. Haha that was good. Well played sir.
