  1. That is one of the worst throws I've seen in some time. I like Vogt's bat but his arm leaves a lot to be desired.
  2. I kind of was hoping the cubs would get him. It would decimate what's left of their farm, and chicago could pay all that salary to a 35-36 year old Verlander with 2500+ innings already on his arm. Sure he could continue to Justin Verlander it up through those years, but then again, he may not.
  3. Interesting that Wilkerson eclipses Tyler Wagner's Shuckers win record. Wagner goes 11-5, 2.25 in 2015. Wagner and Segura to AZ for Hill, Anderson, and Diaz in January 2016. Hill traded to Boston for Wilkerson and Rijo in July 2016. In a way, it seems to have come full circle. Of course then again, Wilkerson is 28...
  4. That move by the Phillies reminds me of some people in fantasy football. Oh well.
  5. Trent Clark had himself a walking binge over the weekend. 9 BBs Friday-Sunday.
  6. Well, I see trwi7 has done my work for me here. Hopefully tonight is better.
  7. If it is indeed a 150 IP plateau for Hader, that is great news. I'd still prefer to limit him early next season. I remember thinking how foolish the Mets were to use up the Harvey innings early in the season (was it 2013? time flies) and had to shut him down later when they really needed him for the pennant push. Hader's special and I would want him available if the Brewers were to make the playoffs.
  8. Not to veer this too far off of Nelson vs. Anderson, but along with what Plush states above, some of my Hader thoughts... Yeah plus his 2017 innings are going to make a full time 2018 starter role pretty far fetched. With some fast rough mental math, I'd imagine it hard to expect much more than about 120 IP for Hader's 2018, based on his expected 2017 IP and the old rule of not increasing by more than 25 IP per season. With that said, I absolutely want to see him start some games. If Milwaukee falls out of it in in September, I'd be happy to see him get a start or two yet this year, for at least 3 reasons.
  9. 3 days later and whatever tore under the ribcage is still angry and sore, big time. It's official. I would be on the 10 day DL from an injury sustained from a cough. Maybe in the future I'll cut the Brewers some slack on some of their goofy injuries. On the other hand, I'm 40 and they're not.
  10. If I had my druthers, I'd see Guerra as a long man/6th or 7th man for the rotation come next spring, but who knows.
  11. This morning I coughed right as I was stepping over the edge of the tub getting in the shower, and the awkward position cough instantly flared something in my lower left back. If I were a Brewer, I would probably be out of the lineup for a few days, thereby joining the list.
  12. One good takeaway from this rough stretch is that ultimately this will (hopefully) serve as a learning and building experience for this group of players. Nobody is going to want to re-enact this.
  13. What I have to sit and wonder is: What is Milwaukee's plan for his development? If we are in agreement that Hader is going to need to greatly improve his feel and command of an off speed repertoire in order to truly be a successful MLB pitcher, when and how will this happen? His arm only has 74.1 innings on it so far this season. If he's viewed as a starter long term, this is a problem. As long as the Brewers are still in the hunt, it would be hard to justify putting him back in the minors this year. Fall league seems like a stretch. I don't know what is best, but I hope the Brewers brass has a good plan in the works.
  14. Sheets and Helling yes. The other one? 40 year old junkballin' Doug Jones. Another fun fact: CC probably can't kangaroo kourt the guys too bad on this, since he was the anchor when the Brewers fell victim in '04.
  15. Trivia question: Aside from the aforementioned Mike Fiers, who are the other 3 Brewers to have an immaculate inning?
  16. It'd be awesome to get a few baserunners just to get Arcia another AB and chance at the cycle. Birthday of a lifetime. edit: Now that Alvarado joined the Mike Fiers Immaculate Inning club, forget the cycle, I don't want it bad enough to go to extras to get it.
  17. After a disappointing departure from the Brewers organization in 2014, Nicky Delmonico (from KRod trade version 1.0) has made it to the majors with the White Sox.
  18. It'd be nice if MLBN would show the Brewers instead of tarp updates from chicago.
  19. I mean, yeah FA could be an option, as there's still going to be some financial flexibility. It's just hard to feel good about picking up older FAs after some of our recent tries at it. Looking at 2018 listing http://www.spotrac.com/mlb/free-agents/ who would Stearns target? What would it take to sign Pineda or Chatwood?
  20. It seems like when Broxton goes to AAA his approach improves for a while after he returns to the bigs. Eventually for whatever reason, it looks like Keon reverts to trying to pull everything, and his results go down the drain. Maybe this is just my perception and not entirely accurate. In any case, hopefully he plays well.
  21. 1 Josh Hader 2 Lewis Brinson 3 Corbin Burnes 4 Luis Ortiz 5 Brandon Woodruff 6 Mauricio Dubon 7 Isan Diaz 8 Keston Hiura 9 Corey Ray 10 Kodi Medieros 11 Brett Phillips 12 Bubba Derby 13 Cody Ponce 14 Tristen Lutz 15 Phil Bickford 16 Trent Clark 17 Freddy Peralta 18 Marcos Diplan 19 Jake Gatewood 20 Wei Chung Wang 21 Aaron Wilkerson 22 Trey Supak 23 Monte Harrison 24 Lucas Erceg 25 Taylor Williams On the lookout for busting into my next top 25 list: Carlos Herrera Adrian Houser Caden Lemons Josh Pennington Mario Feliciano Troy Stokes Jr. QTC Jacob Nottingham Clint Coulter Nick Ramirez Jordan Yamamoto Jon Perrin
  22. I'd be more concerned about some other team stealing Stearns from Milwaukee.
