Yeah a Cubs loss is all that matters. No. I want it to hurt in the worst way possible. I'm with you, but my primary focus is on avoiding the horrible nightmare. Being able to laugh like a loon at how it unravels would just be sauerkraut on top.
I recommend melatonin, specifically the tablets that dissolve under your tongue. You can get them at just about any place that has a decent size vitamin selection - any large pharmacy, mass merchandiser, large chain grocery store. It's more of a natural sleep inducer. Melatonin is what works for me. I take the regular tablets. Most times I'm drowsy in about 15 minutes. Only use Nyquil when I'm sick or I just can't fell asleep. I found they got me to sleep right quick but a couple hours later I'd be wide awake from some bizarre nightmare. My 2¢.
I know Ed and the coaches are important parts of much more than what fans get to watch in-game, so I am not surprised or disappointed he will be back. I do wonder if they will consider moving him back to 1B. Otherwise it seems to me the team would benefit from him working hard on training himself to improve on making those judgement calls we see.
I hear ya Casey, but must chime this in: I taught in Wisconsin for 2 years, and moved up here in 08 to try something new for a couple of years. Given the state of things back in Cheeseland, my Wisconsin teaching days are over with.
Nope, just some are pretty lukewarm on his value. Guys like him are often times difference makers. Depth all around the diamond in one man. When we are hopeful contenders, I hope he's still here, healthy and ready.
Clancy, I believe your above post is spot on. Despite people's obp concerns with Perez, he is very valuable. And I don't believe 2016 is the high water mark for his career. Keep him.
Based on what I observed this year, I would really like it if they did away with replay, aside from fair/foul, HR/not, which I'm ok with. The rest of it is not an improvement to baseball at all, in my opinion.
Why? His future is in broadcasting and not pitching. That was well known for 3-4 years... Because. It could quite possibly be his last time getting a chance to do so. He's been a presence and a personality with the organization since he was 19. So that's why the Dillard fan in me was hoping he'd get one more time to pitch in the majors. Not because I thought the couple late september innings were going to groom him for something meaningful in the future.
Absolutely agreed. His injury was especially disappointing because his late callup last year was so tantalizing. Agree with the use of the term lights out. Hopefully he is able to regain that form.
I'm so glad I didn't see this one. My ears would be bleeding with that song right now. Speaking of bleeding, I was really hoping to bleed their bullpen dry with an 18 inning game today.
