  1. Here's an article that shows what I would love seeing as the solution: http://www.forbes.com/sites/chrissmith/2013/07/17/minor-league-baseballs-most-valuable-teams/#21e6021b9630 It could become a great investment for Mark A and his associates, in furthering the value of the Brewers franchise. I don't claim to be an expert on the business end of baseball. Why don't the Brewers start their own AAA club?
  2. The only video of the play I could find, it cuts in right as Porter's hand is on the arm/shoulder of Frazier. I can't tell if they just got tangled up going to the same place at the same time with Frazier coming from his blind side, or if he grabbed Frazier on purpose as you stated. I would tend to think accident, but if solid video proof shows it was intentional like you said, there is no justification for such action, and in my opinion should result in termination.
  3. Having grown up in Madison, and Muskies games being great cheap entertainment for my pals and I during high school summers, I really do appreciate that post Eye Black.
  4. As an aside, a paraprofessional who worked with some of my students used to wear his vintage Pilots jersey (he was a Seattle born guy) on "jersey day" every year, and as a Brewer fan, I really coveted that jersey. Dude couldn't name a Brewer, but he could name the whole Pilots team.
  5. Well the Sea Cows haven't won a game since this was posted, but tonight's game was CANCELLED and will not be made up! And with that the Manatees avoid losing 100 games in their final season in Brevard County. [sarcasm]There's your West Bend Silver Lining folks [/sarcasm]
  6. Let me guess. Minnesota plates?
  7. Wow I had forgotten just what a AAAA monster Dillon was. Eye popping numbers in 04, 05 and 07.
  8. Yo's debut was 6.1 innings, 4 hits, 3 ER, 3 BB, 4 K. He got the win. Indeed. I remember in the 7th he gave up a home run, then walked a guy and got pulled. The walk came around to score when Villanueva gave up a home run in relief.
  9. I was at Yo's debut in 07 and he pretty well cruised after the first until he gave up a home run and got lifted. It was exciting to be there. I second Woodard's debut comment from recte. I listened to that whole game on the radio. I was scared to death Fetters would blow it for him.
  10. Drugs. One of my former students who graduated last spring OD'd last night. Nice, smart girl with all the potential one could ask for, gone. It's so heartbreaking to see this scenario perpetuate.
  11. McKenry was with the cards organization at the time of the trade, but I don't know if that is an issue or not.
  12. I'm hoping their next self destructive move is to bring in the newly released D.C. Strangler
  13. Thanks wichmae, I knew I had to be overlooking something. It seems to me that it would behoove the organization to separate Erceg and Gatewood in 2017. I wonder if Erceg will be in BC next year with Gatewood repeating.
  14. I'm not one to argue, but I don't follow what you mean here. Gatewood has been playing mostly 3rd this year, only 11 games at 1st, and was strictly SS prior to 2016. Are you considering Gatewood a first baseman now, or are you considering Gideon a 3rd baseman? (Gideon played 3rd in college, but has only played 1st this year with Helena.)
  15. Strategically it makes no sense whatsoever, but just as a fan I would enjoy seeing Dillard.
  16. Admittedly, haven't seen him, but I see the scores and they tell me it's time to bump him up a level. Tearing up the Pioneer League to the tune of .333/.390/.645 with 10 HR. Sharkey's not exactly blocking his path to Appleton at 1B with his .458 OPS. Anybody seen Gideon and have any insights?
  17. Further reading on the Mines shows Ken Macha was a stud there in '74, putting up 1.024 OPS for the season.
  18. Randy Ready Paul Householder BJ Surhoff John Henry Johnson
  19. After the past season and a half he's had in Houston, it is quite entirely possible Gómez will still be looking for work after previously mentioned list of "ifs" has been sorted out.
  20. According to that site, cycling is the 8th most watched event. I find that just completely baffling.
  21. The kid just turned 22. In my mind, there's just no telling what his potential with the bat is, and I'm not going to worry too much over it, I think he'll hit just fine. FWIW, Omar Vizquel also entered the bigs at 22, and stuck around for 23 years with a career OPS of .688.
  22. For as much as he hated his dad, that's gotta be something that doesn't sit well with him. Or that Cecil beat him by 1 in single season personal record, 51-50. When he was young he had such an angry look when he'd hit. I always wanted to see some fan yell "you'll never get out of the old man's shadow, Prince" while he was at the plate. I bet he'd have hit the ball about to Greenfield Ave.
  23. He'll be facing the braves, so yeah I think it will be a decent start for him. Braves scored 19 runs the last 2 days against Cardinals. I wouldn't bet on it being a decent start. Nothing's ever a certainty, but Atlanta has a firm grasp on last place in MLB in HR, OPS, and runs scored.
  24. He'll be facing the braves, so yeah I think it will be a decent start for him.
  25. Maybe bigger question, why did Medeiros go only 1? That game had a long rain delay after the first half inning.
