  1. The first pitch MAY have been a strike. The second pitch was clearly outside and only looked decent due to good framing work by the catcher. Roy Boy needs to be dealt before he kills some innocent umpire.
  2. Totally agree. And once again, JohnBriggs didn't say anything about projections. He made factual statements about the pace Dave Bush is on after 1/4 of the season. No one said he was going to give up 40 dingers. But you can't argue with the fact that he is currently on pace to do so (or nearly so) if he continues to pitch as he has so far. I guess my post was just clarifying that joepepsi was spinning JB's words into something he didn't say or even imply.
  3. I don't think anyone concluded anything. It is a fact that he is on pace to give up 40 dingers this year. We're roughly a 1/4 of the way into the season now, so projections such as that aren't so ridiculous. Also, it is a FACT that Pujols was on pace to hit 324 HR after opening day. There is nothing ridiculous about that statement.
  4. I just started week 7 yesterday. I'm basically right in the middle and have seen pretty impressive results already. I'm down around 12-15 pounds but my upper body has been completely reshaped already. Bulging shoulders and triceps, toned biceps, higher and more broad throughout the chest and visible traps. My legs appear muscular as well now, rather than just thick. I've hit some rough patches lately when it comes to motivation (missed a couple of workouts last week, diet has been slipping but is still far better than when I began), but the visible results help me work through that. At 5'8" I've gone from 220+ to ~208 but I've lost inches from my waist. Pants are getting too loose and shirts are getting snug around the shoulders and chest rather than the belly. I have plenty of stomach fat to lose yet, but if I get to around 190-195 by the end of the program I imagine I'll look pretty damn tough. I didn't mention my cardiovascular condition yet. I really could see the improvements in this area in a matter of a week or two. Your legs strengthen as your heart and lungs do and you feel like a new person pretty quickly. As someone mentioned above, I am pumped for softball to start up! I'd definitely vouch for it.
  5. Just read The Wednesday Letters. It was a decent story, but the message was almost too blunt. Interesting premise that could have been made into a much more interesting and engaging book. Then again, mid-20s males probably were not the target audience.
  6. It will be some combination of Maverick Lasker and Kyle Heckathorn -- so far on that tandem, Lasker has made both starts with Heckathorn following, so maybe they're tandeming but not necessarily flip-flopping starting duties. Sweet. Thanks. I was hoping for Odorrizzi then Arnett or Heckathorn. Looks like a good game to go to. Should be a good night in Appleton.
  7. Quick question...I'm looking to catch a T-Rats game on Friday night. Who looks to be the starter that game? I looked briefly on their site and didn't find anything.
  8. Anthony Mason SUCKED! The trade for him was the beginning of the death spiral for the Bucks. I root for all my Brewers. Especially WEEKS!!!!!!
  9. Lock it up! The board has a mission now. We gotta help out our boy. Although maybe step one would be spending less time on message boards.
  10. Booze could count as an informing enhancing drug in Uecker's line of work.
  11. I never use the power swing unless I'm just fooling around.
  12. That's what you think.
  13. Maybe in your eyes...
  14. What abbreviation would that be? +1 for never seeing a Star Wars movie. I'll add all of the Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter movies to that list, as well.
  15. I assume you've never been. Also, if you are going to use that as a standard, I'd like to see the list of things to do in Idaho outside of Boise.
  16. I've heard that Boise is actually a pretty sweet place to live for a young adult. I've also heard that Austin is about as sweet as can be. Madison but with warmer weather and hotter women.
  17. I think the hitting is much improved this year. I really struggled to make contact and judge balls and strikes in last years game. It might be all the practice, I've had a lot more success so far this year. I'm hitting .250 after 4 games at the All-Star and HOF levels. I was struggling to hit .200 throughout last year's game.
  18. Jwill, I agree with you even more.
  19. I agree. Now go read the book. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  20. It doesn't matter what my workplace definition is. Besides, I'm currently unemployed so I could go a lot of places with that one. ;-) I just thought it was funny that you went from admitting your own ignorance on the subject in your first post to becoming the authority on what the term can and should be interpreted as. No hard feelings, pal. Oh, and I was an English major, but I don't feel that makes me any more able to interpret TK's statement than you. And one more thing. I generally agree with your interpretation, but I'd rather avoid making it any more black and white than it is. I enjoy Holden's narrative far too much to do that.
  21. Now that there is funny.
  22. How has the guy who never read the book become the interpretor for it? I can't say with any certainty what TK meant with the reference, but Holden Caulfield didn't spend time with trashy or inappropriate women. Well, except for the $$$*$#, who he didn't "do."
  23. Holden pays for a #**%@% in the book, too. He doesn't end up doing anything with her, but I would guess that is the reference. That is where I feel TK goes over the line a bit. Say that about some random celebrity and you're fine. Lay off the co-workers. And Hannah Storm's outfit was absolutely ridiculous. I'll see if I can snag a picture. http://thebiglead.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/02/Hannah-Storm-SportsCenter-outfit.jpg Found a picture. Only know how to post a link. She deserves to get picked on for wearing that.
