  1. Can we please stop starting Luke Voit against anybody?! Counsell is demonstrating a Mike Budenholzer level of incompetence when it comes to setting lineups.
  2. The Brewers need to commit, commit, commit to their young players, and then commit some more. The franchise could likely be without Burnes and Woodruff come 2025, and their young talent will be more critical than ever if they want any chance at being competitive. We aren't winning any championships by signing a bunch of middle of the road free agents anytime soon.
  3. I would hate this. It was really uninspiring watching Brewer baseball last season, especially after the trade deadline. The "freshmen" have given the big league club a shot in the arm that it sorely needed IMO. These young players are the future of our franchise, and they have absolutely nothing left to prove in the minor leagues. The only way they are going to get better is to play consistently at the big league level. I also don't believe the team is squandering an opportunity to win a world championship by playing Turang and not Owen Miller or Luis Urias when he returns. As a fan, I am more than willing to deal with the growing pains, and I hope Counsell and Arnold are too. The same concept would apply to Weimer and Frelick when he gets healthy.
  4. They have faced two LHP starters and haven't scored a run against either one. I'm all for giving the young guys a day off from time to time, but a strict platoon is not necessary IMO.
  5. I just hate that two of our best young players in Mitchell and Turang appear to be platoon players right now. They make up the core future of our team and should be playing everyday, regardless of the opposing pitcher.
  6. I kinda wished our lineup against LHP included leaving Anderson at third base and leaving Mitchell in CF. I really don't see the need to have Brosseau in there exclusively against LHP.
  7. This is a question I have been thinking a lot about lately. If Weimer, Mitchell, and Frelick are all successful MLB players, then the Brewers should do everything they can to unload Yelich's contract. You don't give up on any three of the prospects mentioned with the amount of ability and years of control they each possess. I suppose you could make Yelich your everyday DH, but that is a pretty hefty price tag for a player who appears his best years are behind him. It would be a shrewd move for Arnold to unload Yelich's contract and get something noteworthy (or not) in return.
  8. For me, this one was easy. My vote is to commit to the young players and let them start the season at the big league level. That includes Mitchell, Frelick, Turang, Weimer, and Ruiz. Ideally, Turang is our everyday 2B, and our outfield is some combination of Mitchell, Frelick, and Weimer. I'd look to move Renfroe for pitching help, but wouldn't be opposed to holding on to him for another year if there are no takers. Wong and Cutch are both gone, and Yelich becomes a DH exclusively. Did I read somewhere that Ruiz has also played some 2B? How about some combination of an Adames, Turang, Ruiz, and Tellez infield?
  9. Counsell needs to be questioned why he would play Taylor over our hottest offensive player in Mitchell in a critical game against a righty.
  10. This team can just be dreadful to watch when they aren’t making routine plays or hitting with runners on, both of which are often.
  11. They’ll never do it, but I would call up Robert Gasser and let him start in Alexander’s place next start. That would be the ultimate gut punch to San Diego if he pitched well and contributed to the crew overtaking them in the standings.
  12. This series is really making me realize just how mediocre we are. Crazy how hard it is for us to push runs across. It is really hard to watch this team play offense.
  13. With his homer tonight, Chourio has 8 home runs in 25 games at Wisconsin. Not sure we have ever seen a talent like this in our system, which is admittedly a very bold statement.
  14. I just don’t understand why Urias is getting any playing time at all. He’s just useless right now.
  15. Play Hiura everyday. Play Mitchell everyday. Bring up Turang and play him at 3rd base everyday.
  16. As much as I hate to say it, maybe a loss might be better for us, as it may force us to shake up the roster. We can’t win with the team as presently constructed.
  17. Frelick wasn’t in the lineup for Nashville tonight. Could tomorrow finally be the day?
  18. The Nashville team is getting to be one of the most fun minor league follows maybe ever for us.
  19. I am way more excited about a team employing Ruiz, Frelick, Mitchell, Weimer, and Turang than what we are running out there now. Can we just punt to next season?
  20. Thank goodness the organization didn’t give up on Hiura while his stock was low. Still has unlimited potential at the plate.
  21. Frelick has nothing left to prove in Nashville. His time is now.
  22. I’ve had my fill of Tyrone Taylor as a mostly everyday player.
