There is a big part of me that likes having the Rockies keep winning having us keep the pedal to the metal. I think the team relaxes just a little bit once they clinch the wild card, I like having that little bit of doubt in making the playoffs that is helping us keep our edge.
I can't believe we are talking about Guerra attempting to get anyone out at this point. He's had a 6.00+ ERA in the second half and has looked pretty terrible his past several starts. I would much rather they go with Woodruff than Guerra at this point.
I don't particularly care for this move. Anderson has a lifetime 2.67 ERA against the Cardinals. The only way I like it is if you start a BP guy (maybe Burnes?) and then insert Anderson after an inning or two. Maybe Counsell is doing this to help Anderson with his first inning woes.
Just keep this close heading into next weekend and anything can happen. The Cubs are not playing at full strength and can be had this year I think. The Cardinals will likely be playing for a wild card berth next weekend and the Tigers will have likely folded up shop by then. The matchups next weekend certainly favor us.
My vote would be Miley, getting 5 innings out of him would be ideal. I wouldn't be surprised if either Chacin or Gonzalez started that game, or have those other guys available out of the pen.
