  1. Wow, thanks for pointing out how many terrible movies/songs Will Smith has been a part of.
  2. I'll start by saying that I'm actually pumped that they went back to the best logo in sports (Ball in Glove) instead of reinventing a brand new one going forward. With that said, here's my take on the changes that I see: 1. Changed yellow "pepsi" swirl in middle of ball to two yellow ball stitches. Verdict: Improved 2. Made the yellow lines between the letter m straight all the way down. Verdict: Unnecessary but Improved 3. Moved ball down in mitt of "glove" and centered it. Verdict: Unnecessary but Neutral 4. Filled in white part of "webbing" between b and m with a solid yellow. Verdict: Unnecessary but minor Fail 5. Connected b and m at the top of the "webbing" with a blue line "bridge". Verdict: Fail 6. Squeezed or narrowed bubbly "cartoonish" dimensions of original logo to more "corporate" straight dimensions. Verdict: Fail Overall grade: C Verdict: Unnecessary change for change's sake of selling new Merch going forward. Need to sell more, new merch. Understood. In a strange way, I think it was very possible that they could have messed it up WAY more then they actually did. Gotta give them some credit for that. Lame but Brewer fans will be able to live with it. Message to Brewers future Marketing teams: Please leave this logo exactly the same and only make uniform changes or alternative logos with this creation central to the design. This is your franchise "brand" logo. Don't change it again. Marketing 101 Thanks Go Brewers!

  4. The original Ball in Glove Logo had a more circular design to it. Why not just change the color scheme? Why mess with the dimensions and make it look worse?
  5. Would love to see the Brewers target a player like FA Howie Kendrick. Right handed hitter, but he can play 1B,3B and 2B to back up Keston Defensively. These are all positions of need for the Brew Crew as we enter the offseason.
  6. He'll get 4 years of arb instead of 3. We still control Hader for 4 more years. Thanks. That's what I thought. 4 arb years will be expensive but maybe it would motivate the Brewers to work out an extension since they will have to pay him quite a bit in his last two years of arby anyways.
  7. Dumb question: Does this effect the number of ARB years the Brewers control him for or just that he will get paid more starting in 2020?
  8. Out of curiosity, which of the Top 35 free agents does Jim Bowden predict Brewers will sign? I'm feeling maybe a RHP Julio Teheran on a 2 year deal myself.
  9. Because otherwise Christian Yelich will only be a Milwaukee Brewers for 3 more seasons and will simply leave to the highest bidding team. He will only be 30 when he is set to hit free agency. The Brewers could look at extending his current deal 2-3 years and it would not be taking that big of a risk for a player of his caliber. The Brewers could entice him by upping his yearly salary for 2020-22 with an extension. Makes a ton of sense to at least attempt for an elite franchise player in his prime.
  10. It is NOT wise to give a 31 year old catcher a 4 year contract. The Brewers should be putting all their efforts into using money from Braun's salary coming off the books after next year into signing Christian Yelich to an extension.
  11. Interesting question about wanting to continue playing for a contending team. Hypothetically, if you are Grandal and the Reds offer you 4 years/$80 million but the highest the Brewers are willing to go is 4 years/$72 million, which offer do you take? Many fans think that it's a no-brainer that Grandal would want to take the Brewers offer in this scenario, for the reasons of returning to a contending team on which you have a bond formed with teammates, etc. However, 8 million dollars is still 8 million dollars. I still think money is always the bottom line and the main factor for free agents decisions, ultimately.
  12. This "new" logo looks like it was created by a Marketing Intern with access to Photoshop in about 15 minutes.
  13. As brilliant as the original Ball and Glove logo is, I think that most casual baseball fans over the years never even realized that the Logo contained the lower cased letters M and B in it unless it was pointed out or explained to them. I loved the logo for several years as a kid until my Dad pointed it out, and then I loved the logo even more! However, I hope that's not the reason for putting the Ball and Glove inside a circle and spelling out Milwaukee Brewers in font above and below. I think that takes away the "secret coolness" factor of the original logo.
  14. Is it just me or does the new Ball in Glove itself seem narrower? Doesn't look right...
  15. I think this is proof that WAR is indeed NOT the best stat.
  16. CC Sabathia with an awesome farewell statement to Baseball: “It all started in Vallejo, CA in my grandma’s backyard throwing grapefruits at a folding chair. I could have never imagined how much this game has meant to me since. Through the ups and downs, baseball has always been my home. From Cleveland, to Milwaukee, to New York and everywhere in between, I’m so thankful to have experienced this journey with every teammate past and present. All I ever wanted to do was to be a great teammate and win. I’m so proud of this year’s team, we fought til the end. Love you guys! I’m going to miss going out there on the mound and competing , but it’s time to say farewell. Thank you, Baseball.”
  17. So this proposal is essentially trading Keston Huira for two expensive years of Trevor Story and the Rockies garbage? I'm sure the Rockies would do this in a heartbeat.
  18. This is more of a fantasy league trade proposal than a real life one, IMO.
  19. Most Dodgers fans arrived in the 3rd inning and left in the 7th so they didn't actually see any of this carnage. Had to read about it this morning though, lol.
  20. "Just a Bit Outside" is not just from the movie Major League. Uecker has been using this as a catch phrase as a Brewers broadcasting for years before that movie came out.
  21. I know that the Bucks set up some cool watch parties in the Deer District for the Bucks road playoff games this past season. Does anyone know of any similar planned "watch parties" that are being set up for the Brewers at Nationals Wild Card game on Tuesday night?
