  1. Podcast Discussion https://brewcrewreview.podbean.com/e/brew-crew-review-podcast-101-our-top-30-brewer-prospect-rankings/
  2. I agree that it's possible, but I think Burnes spends the bulk of 2020 starting at the AAA level getting himself back on track and that he will be the 2021 season's Freddy Peralta! lol
  3. I'm going on record to make the bold prediction that Freddy Peralta will be this year's Brandon Woodruff and go from assumed bullpen role to ending the 2020 season as the Brewers best starting pitcher. At about this time last offseason, Brewer fans all assumed that Brandon Woodruff would be pitching out of the bullpen and that Corbin Burnes and Freddy Peralta would be Starting Rotation members going into 2019 season. Then this news was released... https://www.jsonline.com/story/sports/mlb/brewers/2019/02/28/counsell-says-freddy-peralta-corbin-burnes-brandon-woodruff-equal-footing-brewers/3009104002/ As you see, Woodruff was given a shot to make the rotation, which he did and ended 2019 as the Brewers best starter. Fast forward a year and the Brewers have collected a handful of mediocre talent to fill in behind Woodruff in the rotation with the likes of Brett Anderson, Josh Lindblom, Adrian Houser and Eric Lauer. Then this news was released... https://www.jsonline.com/story/sports/mlb/brewers/2020/02/15/brewers-freddy-peralta-expects-big-things-after-adding-slider-mix/4760302002/ "Peralta started using his slider again to great success in the Dominican Winter League, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports. "I knew that I could make the slider great, but not that fast," Peralta said. "I took two or three weeks during [Dominican Winter League] games, and when I saw those moments, down in the count or in 3-2 [counts] a lot of the time, 0-2 when you're behind in the count, I was like, 'Oh my God.' I can feel it like I feel the fastball. I can throw it whenever I want." The Brewers encouraged Peralta to work on that pitch in the offseason. He pitched 20 innings in the Dominican regular season and playoffs and posted a 1.35 ERA with 34 strikeouts, allowing six hits and three walks. He's got an outside shot to win the fifth starter's job, but it's a good bet he'll pitch out of the bullpen as the long man if that doesn't work out." As you see, Freddy P has his wicked slider back and if he can improve his command this season, I think he can beat these other rotation candidates out for a starting spot and I predict that he has a major breakout season that few saw coming.
  4. Perhaps we'd match up as trade partners with the Diamondbacks on a 3B option. With the acquisition of Starling Marte last week from the Pirates, it pushes Ketel Marte back from CF to 2B and Eduardo Escobar from 2B to 3B. This pushes left handing hitting Jake Lamb (29) to the bench or 1B/3B platoon situation. They also have right handing hitting 3B/1B Kevin Cron (27) sitting at AAA and major league ready. They also have Seth Beer (23) and Pavin Smith (24) in the minors for future coverage at 1B. I think either Lamb or Cron could be had via trade. It would also be a dream come true to possibly trade for a 1B of the future and make Seth Beer a Brewer! lol Maybe something like: OF Corey Ray RHP Trey Supak for 1B Seth Beer 3B Jake Lamb
  5. This is the type of player that chooses to sign with us as a non-roster invitee because he and his agent feel that we have the largest possibility of having a train wreak of a rotation entering the season. lol
  6. Lol, yeah Cameron Maybin is the player I wanted the Brewers to draft with their pick at the time of that draft. Never lived up to the hype. It's to his credit he's still in the league 15 years later however.
  7. How is this a fair deal? I would not trade Hader for just those 3 prospects even without "throwing" Turang into the deal.
  8. We do seem to match up well with the Twins for a potential Hader trade. I'll assume top prospect SS Royce Lewis is off limits. It's still hard for me to see the Brewers essentially waving the white flag on the 2020 season before it even starts. With that said, if the Twins are willing to include these two prospects as headliners, they would have my attention. OF/1B Alex Kirilloff RHP Brusdar Graterol They would also need to add in 2 additional pieces from this list: OF Trevor Larnach OF/1B Brent Rooker MI Luis Arráez RHP Jordan Balazovic LHP Lewis Thorpe RHP Blayne Enlow If nothing happens before the season starts, but the Brewers fall out of contention before end of July, the Twins sure have some nice pieces to net themselves Josh Hader.
  9. The Cardinals must be feeling the pressure to counter the Brewers Gyorko/Sogard platoon.
  10. This could end quite horribly. The Brewers were also accused of sign stealing at Miller Park. https://www.brewcrewball.com/2019/11/14/20963825/milwaukee-brewers-mlb-sign-stealing-controversy-houston-astros
  11. I guess that $5 million was the highest allowable fine under MLB rules.
  12. With 4 years of team control left, LHP Josh Hader is one of the most valuable commodities in baseball. I disagree that he's not as valuable as an above average everyday player. Also, if you are a contending team that is already likely to make the playoffs come the end of July, is there any more valuable player that you could add to your team (bullpen) then Josh Hader The Dominator? Short answer: No there is not.
  13. To Mr. Haudricourt's reporting...
  14. Jedd Gyorko is the big move that will put the Brew Crew over the top.
  15. I’ll guess Harrison Bader or Tyler Oneil, Edman and some pitching prospects.
  16. This still makes more sense than the Brett Anderson signing.
  17. If this is a joke, I don't get it.
  18. Why use the best reliever in baseball with 4 years of team control just to fill a single position player "hole" during the offseason? Plenty of viable options to address 3B without trading Josh Hader IMO.
  19. Would you prefer I send you my address so we can settle this? lol (inside joke from another thread BTW)
  20. Now that we all have Paul's address, maybe we should all send him a xmas card? lol
  21. With the DBacks signing Madison Bumgarner and the Brewers signing Brett Anderson, the DBacks are showing more of an indication that they plan to contend in 2020 then the Brewers have. With that said, the proposed trade is so far from reality to make any sense for the DBacks even if that wasn't the case. Not sure if Turang/Lutz would land either of those players from DBacks, let alone both. More realistic prosposal IF the Dbacks fall out of contention: Brewers get: LHP Robbie Ray 3B/1B Jake Lamb DBacks get: SS Brice Turang OF Tristen Lutz RHP Trey Supak 3B Lucas Erceg
  22. Wouldn’t surprise me if Disney plans to release this “Directors cut” of EP 9 on their streaming service later this year. Probably another hype marketing ploy. Disney is gonna continue to milk this Star Wars cow for every drop from here until eternity.
  23. The Dodgers and Jimmy Nelson have agreed to a deal. It’s for one year plus a vesting mutual option. He’s guaranteed to make a little over $1 million in 2020 but could make over $3 million if healthy. The Brewers should have brought him back over the likes of Brett Anderson. Disgusting.
  24. I also saw RISE OF SKYWALKER and enjoyed the film. The ridiculous thing about the 7-9 "trilogy" is that Abrams Episode 7- THE FORCE AWAKENS was a complete fan service setup for episodes 8 and 9. Rian Johnson was handed the reins to Episode 8- THE LAST JEDI and COMPLETELY ignored not only the setup of Episode 7 but also pretty much everything in LUCAS' Episodes 1-6 as well. Nearly ruined the entire legacy of the franchise. The awesome part of EP 9 and that I can't even believe that Abrams was bascially able to pull off, is that JJ returned the favor by ignoring everything Johnson did in EP 8 (besides disgracing and killing off Luke Skywalker). I didn't think it was possible, but he pretty much pulled it off. Gotta give him credit for that. EP 9 is also packed with plenty of Star Wars fan service, as well as being action packed, full throttle entertainment. I also liked how he ended the SAGA, which was a huge responsibility that he could have really messed up IMO. I don't know what the hell Disney was thinking with their original plan to let different people control each of the EPISODES 7,8, and 9 without prior coordination. They needed to use more of LUCAS' original ideas and have the entire final Trilogy planned out in advance of production. The fact that they never even had a reunion of Han, Luke Leia and Chewy in the final Trilogy is a travesty IMO. In hindsight, Disney should have given control of the entire final Trilogy to Jon Favreau (director of THE MANDOLORIAN). THE MANOLORIAN'S first season is fantastic BTW. It captures the real STAR WARS magic of mystique and humor, with great characters, dialogue and atmosphere development. I have spoken.
