  1. Take it for what it’s worth, but I made a pretty equal trade on baseballtradevalues.com for Marte: Brewers get: marte Dbacks get: tuirang, Frelick, Huira.
  2. I would love the Brewers to get him to play RF. His numbers were curiously awful in CF this last year but his bat obviously plays in the corners also. A High average switch hitter who can rake is exactly what this team needs. Plus, he can still play 2B pretty well and Wong went on the IL 3 times last year so his versatility would help get Tyrone Taylor some deserved playing time
  3. I’ve thought of him as a possible trade target also. His limited OF work doesn’t look very good so I wonder if he would be viewed as a realistic OF going forward. I think Kiermeier and Margot are the most likely Rays to go. Neither make a lot of sense for the Brewers
  4. To stay in budget, they could make one signing and make one trade for an affordable hitter, one lefty and one righty. Belt would be a great signing (or Schwarber). Maybe they would go cheaper with Rizzo. For a righty power bat who could play DH/OF/1B Garrett Cooper would be an affordable option
  5. Please actually enforce a pitch clock. Especially in the playoffs, there is a crazy amount of time between pitches
  6. Good summation of needs & possible options that might be in the Brewers price range. I think they'll end up filling one spot via FA and the other via trading some minor league guys. Don't really see them dealing from the MLB pitching depth at all. Hader is only of interest to a contender & legit MLB bats are more valuable than closers, so I don't see much overlap there. Also don't see them moving an OF. Yelich has a full NTC, Cain still put up around 2 WAR despite the missed time which is perfectly reasonable for his salary & Bradley only gets paid a lil over 3 million next year with the deferrals so he's not killing the books & who is dealing for him in the first place after last year anyway? But before any of that we need a new CBA. Gonna be a long, boring offseason that probably won't even get started until sometime next year. I tend to agree that double dipping for FA hitters isn’t that likely. As far as minor league trade pieces, Tauring could be movable with 2B/3B/SS all set at the mlb level
  7. So you would sign McCutchen as a DH? I would not be on board with this in any way. For the right price and if the Brewers aren’t willing to spend to get better hitters, or (hopefully) have already acquired 1 other big time hitter to play 1B/OF, why not? Why would a consistently above average hitter who mashes lefties be a bad option for DH?
  8. Mccutchen has been an above average hitter every year including a 109 OPS+ last year including an OPS over 1000 vs lefties. That would be much better than Big Dan (who is just fat without the power) at DH. What does it matter that he would be a terrible CF considering he wouldn’t play a single inning there?
  9. Castellanos and Martinez sure they could be out of the Brewers price range but McCutchen won't be. This was McCutchen's slash line: .222/.334/.444. I just don't see many teams lining up to give McCutchen anything more than a 1-year prove it veteran deal. So something under $10m a season. McCutchen's defense has also taken a nose dive so not much there in terms of value. What does McCutchen have to offer that Tyrone Taylor doesn't? No way I sign old man McCutchen. Unless you think there will not be a DH, why does there have to be a choice between Taylor and McCutchen (or another FA)? I’d hand RF to Taylor, but that doesn’t address DH
  10. They need to get middle of the order bats this off-season. Having the DH plus controllable pitching makes it possible if they’re able to spend a bit. That way they could keep their pitching work bract and just add without subtracting. I hope they get one righty and one lefty bat. Rowdy has shown enough to be 1B/DH and likewise for Tyrone Taylor in RF at least part time. Neither are sure things so they should get 2 hitters that can help at DH/1B/OF between them. Get one from each list (some pair up better than others): RHB: mark canha, jd Martinez, Castellanos, soler, Avi, mccutchen, Nelson Cruz LHB:Schwarber, belt, Rizzo, Eduardo Escobar (switch)
  11. Marte is the only everyday CF free agent this offseason. After his strong season, I think he will get a big contract from the Mets or Phillies or another team needing a CF.
  12. Agreed, I don't like Yelich in the 3 hole given his lack of power this year. Wish him and Adames were flipped. Yelich in the 1 or 2 spot would be better. Have a feeling you're wishing he was hitting 8th though... Well then you’d be wrong
  13. Wow both stupid and selfish. Stick to mountain dew if you can’t handle your alcohol
  14. What he should know is how mediocre Yelich has been for 2 years now. And how sadly predictable is is that Taylor would sit after hitting 2 home runs ?
  15. Kolten, Avisail & Manny all went deep on September 12. For my sanity I want Yelich to get to double digits this year. It’s hard for groundballs into the shift to get over the fence so it might be tough
  16. No chance it won’t be his option unless his injury is much worse than it seems in that case
  17. Except he only needs like 10 more plate appearances. He has 479 going into today. He’d need a lot more than 10 to get to 550
  18. Garcia’s going to probably decline his option and when he does, it will create a third questionable position going into 2022-RF,1B, 3B. Interestingly, the Brewers have SOMETHING in each spot but no sure things. Kris Bryant would be an ideal fit since he can play at any of those spots when needed, but he will be too expensive. I think the best bet would be Eduardo Escobar since he can play 1B and 3B. Otherwise, Mark Canha would be a good option. He can play 1B or RF depending on who else is playing well enough and would replace Avi as a solid RHB. Maybe they believe enough in Urias/Jace to cover 3B. Between Taylor, Jace, hopefully a less sucky JBJ, and maybe Mitchell later on, there are plenty of RF options. But Canha would be a good way to hedge betting on Rowdy and those RF options
  19. If only they had 2 dominant relievers they could use. Oh that’s right, it’s not the 8th or 9th inning so they are not allowed to see the field
  20. If anyone’s trying to figure out why Taylor is playing over JBJ, remember: Taylor hasn’t been one of baseballs worst hitters this year. He should be in more than he currently is
  21. Is Wong the new Braun? Needs a bunch of IL stints and days off even when he isn’t on the IL
  22. They clearly cannot get an agreement on an extension done, and aren’t going anywhere this year, so maybe. It sure would be nice to have him at 1B
